Artificial intelligence is no longer a luxury for businesses and has become the baseline. The real differentiator for achieving success in AI adoption is the ability to communicate with AI systems or prompt engineering. The utility of prompt engineering in everyday work remains behind the curtains as it gradually transforms generic language models into experts in various domains. Prompt engineering is the primary ingredient for unlocking the full potential of AI systems used at the workplace.

Artificial intelligence is gradually becoming an integral part of the everyday lives of millions worldwide. The growing usage of AI has drawn the limelight on prompt engineering, which helps in transforming AI systems into proactive partners for various tasks. The uses of prompt engineering at the workplace not only help in enhancing productivity but also open new avenues for creativity. Let us discover some insights on the utility of prompt engineering in everyday tasks at the workplace.

Prompt Engineering and the Art of Conversational AI

The term ‘prompt engineering’ might have had you thinking about complex code and extremely technical tasks. However, it represents the subtle art of communicating effectively with artificial intelligence and has wide ranging implications in our everyday lives and work. The best answers to “What is practical prompt engineering for daily work?” can reflect on the difference between a vague question and detailed set of instructions for a new employee.

For instance, if you ask the employee to write an email, they will create a generic email. On the other hand, asking the employee to write an email to the project team seeking details about the project status will get you a perfectly structured email. You can think of prompt engineering as communication with a highly capable AI assistant. If you provide refined input prompts to the AI models, then you will achieve the desired outcomes.

The clarity, specificity and quality of input prompts determine the efficiency of your conversations with AI. Prompt engineering plays a major role in enhancing conversational AI as well-crafted prompts help in obtaining more creative, precise and actionable results. The best thing about prompt engineering is that you don’t need advanced technical or coding expertise to communicate with AI.

Significance of Prompt Engineering in Everyday Work

Artificial intelligence tools have become an integral aspect of many workplaces, serving different functionalities. You can find many prompt engineering examples in real life where clear instructions get the job done. At the workplace, prompt engineering can help in providing clear instructions to AI tools and language models for obtaining desired results.

With organizations adopting AI systems for content creation, customer support and data analysis, prompt engineering has become an indispensable requirement at the workplace. Prompt engineering can help you achieve the following benefits in everyday work with artificial intelligence.

The most common assumption about AI models is that they can accomplish the tasks they were designed for without flaws. However, AI models cannot read what’s on your mind when they receive instructions for specific tasks. The importance of practical prompt engineering for daily work is evident in scenarios where AI models don’t understand your requirements and offer generic responses. Prompt engineering can help in reducing the need for follow-up queries by including relevant information in the instructions in a structured manner.

  • Maximizing Workplace Productivity

AI tools and systems have been created to make redundant tasks easier and save time of employees at the workplace. The lack of effective prompts can cause the AI tools to take a lot of time to deliver the desired results. Prompt engineering can help in automation of repetitive tasks, brainstorming ideas and generating reports by using precise prompts. You can complete these tasks a lot faster with prompt engineering than with traditional methods, thereby improving productivity at work.

Another general perception about prompt engineering is that it is all about technical efficiency. On the other hand, it is also important to know that prompt engineering can help in enabling creativity in AI systems. For instance, writers and designers can use prompts to obtain inspiration for their work or refine their completed work. One of the best scenarios to prove this is evident in the creative block experienced by designers. Precisely crafted prompts can help them start the creative process with new ideas.

The significance of prompt engineering for everyone is also visible in the way it makes AI accessible to everyone. Prompt engineering can help a non-technical professional tap into the power of advanced AI tools for different tasks. It empowers everyone to make the most of AI tools across different roles, including sales and HR, by framing questions and instructions for diverse tasks.

$91M in Bitcoin Vanishes in Social Engineering Heist: Funds Already on the Move https://earlybirdsinvest.com/91m-in-bitcoin-vanishes-in-social-engineering-heist-funds-already-on-the-move/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/91m-in-bitcoin-vanishes-in-social-engineering-heist-funds-already-on-the-move/#respond Sat, 23 Aug 2025 23:01:09 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/91m-in-bitcoin-vanishes-in-social-engineering-heist-funds-already-on-the-move/

Social engineering scams have proved to be one of the damaging attack vectors in crypto, which are capable of bypassing technical defenses and draining platforms or users of staggering sums.

In the latest development, a victim lost 783 Bitcoin, worth approximately $91 million, in such an attack.

Hackers Impersonate Wallet Support

Prominent on-chain investigator ZachXBT reported that the attackers impersonated both exchange and hardware wallet customer support. Blockchain data shows the thief has already laundered the stolen funds through the privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet Wasabi.

The incident coincidentally occurred on the one-year anniversary of the $243 million Genesis Creditor theft.

ZachXBT explained that large-scale breaches have left massive amounts of personal information exposed online, which makes it easier for threat actors to exploit victims. By leveraging these data leaks, attackers can convincingly impersonate exchange or wallet support, gain trust, and ultimately carry out such scams.

When asked by a community member how one can avoid falling victim to social engineering, ZachXBT offered a blunt but practical piece of advice: treat every call or email as a potential scam by default.

Social Engineering: A Dominant Attack Vector

TRM Labs recently highlighted the growing dominance of social engineering in crypto-related thefts. The firm found that the first half of 2025 witnessed a record $2.1 billion stolen through hacks and exploits. Over 80% of losses were tied to infrastructure intrusions such as compromised private keys and seed phrases, which were often made possible through social engineering tactics or insider threats.

The average hack size also doubled compared to 2024, as it hit $30 million during the same period. TRM noted that the Bybit incident in February, attributed to North Korean state-sponsored actors, was the largest crypto hack in history, as it accounted for nearly 70% of total losses. Beyond that mega theft, dozens of other attacks occurred in January, April, and May, with several exceeding $100 million each.

Bitcoiner loses $91M in social engineering attack: ZachXBT https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoiner-loses-91m-in-social-engineering-attack-zachxbt/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoiner-loses-91m-in-social-engineering-attack-zachxbt/#respond Fri, 22 Aug 2025 01:33:53 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoiner-loses-91m-in-social-engineering-attack-zachxbt/

A Bitcoiner lost $91 million in a single transaction to a social engineering attack on Tuesday, with funds then sent to a privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet, according to blockchain investigator ZachXBT.

The victim was deceived by impostors posing as crypto exchange and hardware wallet support, losing 783 Bitcoin (BTC) in a single transaction, ZachXBT said in an X post on Thursday.

Blockchain data shows the theft occurred on Tuesday at 11:06 am UTC, and the exploiter started laundering the stolen funds a day later through the Bitcoin privacy-focused Wasabi Wallet to conceal the trail of the stolen funds, ZachXBT said.

Social engineering attacks involve attackers tricking people into revealing sensitive information, such as their private keys or passwords, allowing attackers to steal the funds. These exploits have been rampant in crypto, targeting everyone from sophisticated crypto investors to the elderly.

Asked how one can avoid being socially engineered, ZachXBT said to assume every call or email received is a “scam by default.”

ZachXBT rules out North Korea hackers

While ZachXBT didn’t name any suspects, he ruled out the notorious North Korean state-backed Lazarus Group as a potential culprit.

The attacker received the funds at a clean Bitcoin wallet address — ‘bc1qyxyk’ — before using Wasabi Wallet’s privacy features to try to conceal them.

ZachXBT added that, coincidentally, the attack occurred exactly one year after the $243 million Genesis creditor theft.

Scammers impersonating hardware crypto wallet providers

Scammers have frequently impersonated crypto hardware wallet providers such as Ledger and Trezor using sophisticated methods.

In late April, scammers impersonating Ledger sent out letters posing as the company, asking users for secret recovery phrases to crypto wallets in an attempt to take control of the device.

They claimed a “critical security update” needed to be performed on their devices and that failure to comply may “result in restricted access to your wallet and funds.”

In the same month, an elderly US citizen lost over $330 million worth of Bitcoin to a social engineering attack, sending shockwaves through the industry.

Crypto theft is still a multibillion-dollar industry

More than $2.1 billion was stolen from crypto-related attacks across the first five months of 2025, with the bulk of losses coming from wallet compromises and phishing attacks, blockchain security firm CertiK said in June.

The largest incident by far was the $1.4 billion exploit of crypto exchange Bybit in February, highlighting that even large, extensively audited crypto platforms remain at risk.

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

TRON’s official X account was compromised on May 2, and the team has now confirmed that the attack was due to a social engineering attack. The hackers utilized the account to advertise a contract address and allegedly sent direct messages to users and followed suspicious accounts before TRON took back control.

As reported by TRON DAO, any direct message posted by its X account on May 2 must be disregarded. Users were also instructed to remove any direct message from the same day since this was included in the hacker’s plan to distribute malicious information and engage with unsuspecting users.

Attack Linked To Team Member’s Compromised Account

TRON DAO announced that the attack began with one of its team members becoming a victim of social engineering hack. After the hackers gained access to the team member’s account, they were then able to take control of the blockchain’s master X account. Even after the recovery of access by TRON, the attackers kept contacting others using the hijacked personal account.

TRON reported that it is currently examining the incident and has identified several X and Telegram addresses of the hackers. The team confirmed that law enforcement officials have been contacted and are now engaged with the case.

Dispute Between Sun And OKX Over Freeze Request

TRON founder Justin Sun requested that OKX freeze a wallet that was associated with the hack. In a deleted tweet, Sun stated that funds stolen in the hack had been transferred to the exchange and alleged that law enforcement had already sent a freeze notice to OKX’s official channel.

But OKX CEO Star Xu reacted in public, dismissing that the exchange had received any formal request. He claimed that the legal team of the company scanned all post-mail, including spam folders, and could not find anything.

Xu then challenged Sun to produce evidence by posting a screenshot of the request. This public exchange might have compelled Sun to delete his initial post.

TRON Pushes On With Kant Upgrade

In spite of the incident, TRON has been busy on the development front. The network recently rolled out a new version of its Kant mainnet upgrade. The update features a redesign of its contract event system and enhanced API and node performance. These improvements are anticipated to enhance the way the blockchain interacts with Ethereum and make it more secure and efficient in the background.

Though these changes likely won’t go unnoticed by general users, TRON explained that they’re key to long-term development. They said their aim is to enable larger-sized operations and the network to become more robust as a settlement framework.

TRON’s X account hacked in the latest social engineering attack https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trons-x-account-hacked-in-the-latest-social-engineering-attack/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trons-x-account-hacked-in-the-latest-social-engineering-attack/#respond Sun, 04 May 2025 16:16:52 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trons-x-account-hacked-in-the-latest-social-engineering-attack/

The organization behind one of the world’s largest blockchain networks confirmed that TRON’s X account was compromised on May 2, 2025, in a targeted social engineering attack. The breach lasted from 9:25 A.M. PST, when an unauthorized party published a post containing a suspicious contract address. The hacker then proceeded to send direct messages (DMs) to users and follow unknown accounts.

According to TRON’s post-incident analysis, the attacker gained access by targeting a team member with a malicious social engineering scheme. Once inside, the perpetrator used the official account to spread a contract address, potentially luring followers into interacting with a fraudulent smart contract. The attacker also sent unsolicited DMs and followed various accounts, attempting to further exploit the breach even after TRON regained control of the account. TRON DAO promptly warned users:

“TRON DAO will never post contract addresses or send unsolicited DMs. If you received a DM from our account on May 2, please delete it and consider it the work of the attacker.”

The organization has since identified several X and Telegram accounts believed to be associated with the perpetrator and is working with law enforcement to investigate the incident.

TRON founder Justin Sun also called on the OKX exchange to freeze funds linked to the hack, and reposted the TRON official message on X with the simple words:

“Be safe.”

The rise of social engineering threats

Social engineering is responsible for 98% of cyberattacks, and the TRON incident is the latest in a series of high-profile social engineering and phishing attacks in the crypto sector this year. Just days earlier, an elderly American lost $330 million in Bitcoin after being targeted by a sophisticated social engineering scam. In that case, attackers manipulated the victim’s trust and gained access to their wallet, quickly laundering the stolen funds through multiple exchanges and privacy coins.

Another recent case involved the theft of over $40 million in bitcoin from a high-net-worth individual. Hackers used a combination of phishing emails, impersonation, and fake support tickets to bypass even hardware wallet protections.

Advanced social engineering tactics can defeat even the most watertight security measures, and even crypto OGs can fall prey to sophisticated hackers. The breach of TRON’s X account makes it clear that even well-resourced organizations are not immune to the threat.

Setting aside the constant “chug” higher over the long-term and a normal seasonal boost in Common Labor Costs (often driven by volatile weather conditions) and considering the effects of potential shortages of the common labor pool driven by the current political climate, the Common Labor Index is up 3.12% from this time last year. The five-month moving average (red line) of the 12-Month Rate of Change in the lower panel is noteworthy.

The Skilled Labor Index has also seen a large “pop” in the 12-Month Rate of Change since last April. What economic or labor demand fundamentals that caused the sharp drop in the second quarter of last year is not my forte to explain, but there has been a sharp rebound as the ENR Skilled Labor Index is up 4.36% YoY.

After two years of declining prices, a sharp jump in the 20-City Average Price of 16 Guage Stainless Steel Sheet, up 11.71% since this time last year. At the risk of stating the obvious, “stock piling”?

Since Q3 of last year Asphalt prices have jumped sharply higher and are now up 52.70% over the past 12 months even with oil prices down from $95 in October of last year (currently in the low 60s). As can be seen below the move in the ENR 20-City Average Price of Cutback MC800 has been in concert with a higher move in Crushed Stone.

After a brief dip in the ENR 20-City Average Price of Crushed Stone in the 3rd quarter of last year the per ton price for Base Course has lifted off again and is up 40.06% since this time last year.

The ENR 20-City Price of Light Weight Concrete Block had moved sideways for the better part of a year and a half until it rose to new highs at the start of this year and is now up 10.93% over the past twelve months.

The 20-City Average cost of 36” Corrugated Steel Pipe has risen steadily since the second quarter of 2022 and last month it marked a all-time high. It is currently up 46.53% since this time last year.

Coinbase users lose $46 million to social engineering scams in March – ZachXBT https://earlybirdsinvest.com/coinbase-users-lose-46-million-to-social-engineering-scams-in-march-zachxbt/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/coinbase-users-lose-46-million-to-social-engineering-scams-in-march-zachxbt/#respond Sun, 30 Mar 2025 01:46:42 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/coinbase-users-lose-46-million-to-social-engineering-scams-in-march-zachxbt/

Coinbase users are again in the spotlight after losing more than $46 million to social engineering scams this month alone, according to blockchain sleuth ZachXBT.

On March 28, the on-chain investigator reported on his Telegram channel that an unnamed Coinbase user lost approximately 400 BTC—worth around $34.9 million—after being the victim of an elaborate theft.

According to ZachXBT, this theft occurred as part of a broader pattern of targeted incidents affecting US-based exchange users.

He highlighted three different instances of this attack this month. In the first case, the scammers stole 20.028 BTC on March 16, followed by 46.147 BTC on March 25 and another 60.164 BTC on March 26.

After stealing the funds, the attackers reportedly bridged them from Bitcoin to Ethereum using Thorchain or Chainflip, then converted the assets into the stablecoin DAI.

Coinbase’s lethargy

Despite the scale of these incidents, ZachXBT pointed out that Coinbase has yet to flag the associated wallet addresses using its compliance tools.

ZachXBT highlighted that the exchange has consistently failed to flag known theft addresses, suggesting inadequate user protection measures.

He wrote on X:

“I have yet to see an incident where Coinbase flagged theft addresses (they are part of the problem shows they are not taking care of users).”

Earlier this year, ZachXBT revealed that Coinbase users lost around $65 million to scams between December 2024 and January 2025. These losses form part of a more significant trend, with over $300 million reportedly lost annually by Coinbase customers to social engineering scams.

The social engineering scams often begin with spoofed phone calls using stolen personal data. Once trust is established, victims receive phishing emails that appear to come from Coinbase.

These emails warn of suspicious login activity and instruct users to move funds into a Coinbase Wallet. Victims are then told to whitelist a malicious wallet address, unknowingly handing over control of their funds to the malicious attacker.

Coinbase has yet to publicly comment on the incidents as of press time.
