Canary Capital has registered a Trump Coin ETF in Delaware, a move that signals plans to launch a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) tracking the memecoin.

The entity, “Canary Trump Coin ETF,” was incorporated on Aug. 13, according to state records.

The registration is typically a precursor to filing an S-1 application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a corresponding 19b-4 form by a listing exchange.

If filed, the fund would be the third spot ETF tied to a meme coin, following applications for Dogecoin products from other major firms. Canary Capital has also filed for a PENGU ETF, making it one of the few U.S. asset managers to pursue multiple altcoin-based ETFs.

The firm’s strategy is unusual in a market where most crypto ETF efforts have centered on blue-chip digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), with occasional diversification into large-cap layer-1 tokens like Solana (SOL).

By targeting smaller, high-volatility meme coins, the firm is positioning itself in a niche segment often viewed as speculative and outside the mainstream ETF landscape. The firm’s CEO previously stated that the altcoin ETFs are a bet on undervalued digital assets.

The proposed Trump Coin ETF would give institutional investors direct exposure to the Solana-based TRUMP token, potentially injecting additional liquidity into the market and creating a regulated investment channel for what is otherwise a retail-driven asset.

The SEC has previously stated that meme coins are considered commodities, which could simplify the approval process compared to tokens deemed securities.

Invesco and Galaxy chase Solana ETF dream with Delaware trust registration https://earlybirdsinvest.com/invesco-and-galaxy-chase-solana-etf-dream-with-delaware-trust-registration/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/invesco-and-galaxy-chase-solana-etf-dream-with-delaware-trust-registration/#respond Sat, 14 Jun 2025 10:41:35 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/invesco-and-galaxy-chase-solana-etf-dream-with-delaware-trust-registration/

Invesco and Galaxy Digital have taken a concrete step toward bringing a Solana exchange-traded fund (ETF) to the US market.

Public records show that the firms registered a trust named Invesco Galaxy Solana ETF with Delaware’s Division of Corporations on June 12.

Over the past months, several firms have created Delaware statutory trusts before seeking approval from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a crypto ETF. This structure provides a legal framework and signals intent to regulators and investors alike.

If Invesco and Galaxy proceed as expected, the next milestone will be filing an S-1 registration statement with the SEC.

This filing would formally initiate the regulatory review process required to list the product on a national securities exchange.

Solana ETF momentum builds

Invesco and Galaxy’s trust registration comes when momentum is building around a potential approval for a Solana ETF product.

Data from prediction market Polymarket shows a 91% probability that such a product will receive approval in 2025. The optimism follows reports suggesting the SEC may greenlight the first Solana ETFs as early as July.

The SEC has asked prospective issuers to update their S-1 filings within one week. This request points to active dialogue between the regulator and market participants.

In addition, the discussions have also reportedly included whether to permit limited staking functionality within approved ETFs, a feature that could enhance investors’ returns.

So, should the ETF secure approval, the product would allow investors to gain exposure to Solana’s price performance through a regulated vehicle, without direct custody or purchase of the digital asset.

However, the level of investor demand remains uncertain. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted that while the product will likely attract some inflows, they are unlikely to match the scale of demand seen with Bitcoin ETFs.

Balchunas noted::

“The further away you get from BTC, the less assets there will be.”

Asset Management Giant VanEck Files for Avalanche (AVAX) ETF in Delaware https://earlybirdsinvest.com/asset-management-giant-vaneck-files-for-avalanche-avax-etf-in-delaware/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/asset-management-giant-vaneck-files-for-avalanche-avax-etf-in-delaware/#respond Wed, 12 Mar 2025 17:24:07 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/asset-management-giant-vaneck-files-for-avalanche-avax-etf-in-delaware/

The global investment management giant VanEck has filed for a new Avalanche (AVAX) exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the US.

Documents submitted to the state of Delaware this week hint at the new possible ETF, which presumably would be tied to the price of the Ethereum (ETH) layer-1 rival.

VanEck currently offers ETH and Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs and has filed for a Solana (SOL) exchange-traded fund, which has yet to be approved. Matthew Sigel, the firm’s head of digital assets research, said last summer that the SOL filing was a bet on Donald Trump winning the presidency.

The investment giant has also applied to launch an “Onchain Economy ETF,” which will not invest in digital assets themselves but instead will focus on digital asset instruments, such as futures contracts and digital transformation companies.

AVAX is trading at $17.81 at time of writing. The 20th-ranked crypto asset by market cap is up more than 6.5% in the past 24 hours but down more than 11% in the past seven days.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) greenlit the first spot market Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, bringing in billions of dollars worth of inflows to the top digital asset by market cap. The regulator subsequently approved Ethereum ETFs for trading last July.
