It was a pseudonymous user, DMCA GridSkipper, claiming that the Fashionistas Island had some infringing content — but offered no details about what specifically that content was or whose copyright was being infringed.

“It didn’t even include all the information required by a DMCA, primarily the infringing content was never identified,” Kitely CEO Ilan Tochner told Hypergrid Business. In addition, the person reporting was using a throw-away email address and a brand-new Kitely account.

Despite the lack of concrete information, the grid took action.

“We took the report seriously despite the questionable nature of the reporter’s identity as it really shouldn’t matter who reported it if the content itself was indeed being distributed without a proper license,” said Tochner. “We responded quickly to the possibility that there was infringing content to ensure that if it existed it would be promptly removed from our service.”

Within two hours, the grid set the region access to private, so that only the region owner could visit it, and contacted the region owner. Eventually, the grid took down all the content.

Kitely requires a formal complaint about any content to be done by clicking a Report World link on the world’s World Page, sending an email or internal message, posting the information on the forum or filing a DCMA take down notice on their website copyright notice link.

Some grid owners claim that they cannot remove or limit access to content before receiving a formal complaint from the content author or before being served with a formal DMCA. In fact, that is one of the excuses for infringing content in OpenSim and virtual worlds, in addition to 10 other excuses Maria Korolov wrote about last year.

For example, DigiWorldz recently banned use of Athena Mesh bodies following informal complains on social media forums, even without formal DCMA notice or filing. The grid took the action after confirming with the original author that use of the meshes was violating copyrights.

Adobe Firefly is pushing to make content creation seamless by bringing in Gemini’s latest model to the playing field. In a press release, the platform announced that with this addition, “people have even greater flexibility to explore their ideas with industry-leading generative AI models and create stunning content with ease.”

In June, Adobe’s Firefly landed on Android, bringing Gemini’s latest Imagen 4 and Veo 3, and now it is adding Gemini’s Flash 2.5 Image to help with AI content generation.

According to Hannah Elsakr, Adobe’s Vice President of New GenAI Business Ventures, this integration, combined with Adobe’s existing Creative Cloud apps, provides a comprehensive creative process from start to finish.

“Only Adobe delivers a complete creative workflow that takes ideas from inspiration to impact – empowering everyone with the freedom to experiment, the confidence to perfect every detail, and the control to make their work stand out. We invite everyone to try it out today,” Elsakr added.

Adobe states that despite having AI partner models like Google, OpenAI, and Black Forest Labs integrated into its platforms, it continues to work on expanding its FireFly AI models. This gives users a variety of AI generation tools to pick from within a single workflow.

“We’re delivering the flexibility to use the right model for the job, without bouncing between workflows or platforms,” the press release stated. What’s more, users can even switch between different Adobe apps Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere, to refine or edit their content while working on FireFly.

For instance, social media content creators can use the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image in Firefly to create multiple graphics for keeping the design consistent across posts and then move these designs into Adobe Express to easily animate, resize, or generate captions. Additionally, Visual Designers can create prototype product concepts or character designs in Firefly, explore multiple directions, and then move them into Photoshop or Illustrator for fine-tuned edits, Adobe adds.

Lastly, Adobe says that all the content created on its platform and across other AI models will not be used to train generative AI models, including the new Gemini 2.5 Flash integration, keeping things secure for the user.

Starting today, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image will be available in Firefly’s Text to Image module and Firefly Boards (beta), and Adobe Express. And Adobe is giving its Premium tier members access to unlimited generations with Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, until Sept.1, while those on Firefly and Express free plans have access to only 20 generations at no cost.

Moxie founder Neonwight outlined the platform’s strategy for combining artificial intelligence (AI) with crypto to create “Sex Capital Markets.”

He said the controversial concept was fundamentally about financial inclusivity and unlocking productivity for marginalized creators. 

He stated in an interview with CryptoSlate:

“Adult creators are one of the most marginalized professions in society. Banks refuse to serve them, and Visa and Mastercard charge north of 10% to 15% processing fees because they view adult content as legal and reputational risk.”

Neonwight detailed personal experiences with banking discrimination, citing instances where his bank blocked OnlyFans payments after two transactions. The bank told him it does not “serve payments in those kinds of industries.”

Neonwight provided specific data on creator earnings, noting that he reached out to adult content creators who generate between $50,000 and $100,000 monthly revenue, translating to $600,000 to $1.2 million annual recurring revenue. 

Despite these successful business metrics, creators cannot access traditional banking services, business loans, or investment opportunities available to other entrepreneurs. Having a revenue stream fully powered via crypto rails could address the debanking issues faced by adult content creators.

Shifting metas

Moxie was born as an AI agent deployed through the Virtuals Protocol. Users could access Moxie’s services through the Agent Commerce Protocol and commission AI-generated adult content, paying $10 worth of VIRTUAL tokens.

Since then, Moxie has experienced some changes. First, it left the Virtuals platform due to policy issues. Then, the same model of commissioned content was applied to a proprietary platform, but using a pre-set model called Jenny.

As of Aug. 12, Moxie offers a chat that emulates a real conversation, where Jenny sends AI-generated content, and users can pay 400 MOXIE tokens to see it.

According to Neonwight, Moxie targets OnlyFans’ core revenue driver. Over 80% of the platform’s $7 billion annual revenue derives from customized one-on-one content. 

He explained:

“It becomes an issue for very famous content creators because they don’t have time to split among their huge fan base. There’s also an issue where, as they get older, it gets more taxing to do particular scenes.”

Moxie’s AI solution enables creators to serve larger audiences while maintaining personal connections through personality-trained chatbots. 

The platform uses a custom-trained video model developed by an AI researcher formerly at Alibaba. The proprietary large language model creates content that allows creators to fulfill requests they might not personally perform while preserving their authentic personality traits.

Strategic partnerships

The platform’s partnership structure maintains human contact while expanding creative possibilities. 

Moxie partnered with model Tori Sweetie to curate AI-generated content and participate through live streaming. The goal is to ensure authentic personality representation while enabling content categories that they might not personally create.

Neonwight said:

“The one-to-one human connection is what sells right now. The AI chatbot is trained based on her personality, and she will stream on our platform to give fans another level of personality interaction.”

Martina Oliveira is a top creator on Privacy, Brazil’s leading adult content platform. She provided a perspective on AI’s impact on the adult content industry. 

When asked about AI-generated adult content potentially harming content creators’ revenue, Oliveira said: 

“I think it hurts real models because some content creators who didn’t record videos, claiming they recorded them just by being pretty, are already doing this. I believe that to get attention now, you have to have more originality, you have to talk, you have to expose yourself more because there are already AIs doing the basics, you have to do more than that.”

However, she noted AI-generated content currently has limitations in video quality, particularly for explicit content.

Furthermore, there is the possibility to partner with platforms that generate AI content, such as Moxie, to increase productivity and test new content.

Oliveira previously worked with a platform offering voice synthesis services where users paid per minute for AI-generated conversations. 

According to her:

“I would definitely close this type of partnership, especially if it generated images, I think that’s what was missing in what I did before.”

Regarding crypto integration with platforms like Privacy and OnlyFans, Oliveira acknowledged potential benefits but noted platform resistance to change. 

She believes crypto will be used on these sites over the years because it makes transactions safer. However, Oliveira concluded:

“But it might take a long time because platforms are kind of reluctant to spend on adding services to the site because they don’t know if it will work.”

Coinbase’s Layer 2 network, Base, has announced it will start collecting coined content as part of its push to support creators in a new digital economy.

In an Aug. 7 post on X, the Ethereum layer-2 said it will hold these tokens indefinitely, with no plans to trade or sell them. It also stressed that the move aims to reward creativity rather than make investment gains.

Base stated:

“We believe creators should be directly rewarded for creativity, and we want to showcase how creators can earn from their content.”

The network will collect these tokens through its Base App, where creators can now earn a fee every time their content is bought or sold. Payments will be sent directly to their wallets.

Content coins

Over the past months, content coins, digital tokens representing a single piece of content, have gained significant momentum on Base thanks to the network integration with Zora, a content creation-focused platform.

Base founder Jesse Pollak describes the tokens as merging content and coin into one entity, with value stemming from cultural impact, virality, or meme appeal rather than traditional utility.

However, critics have dismissed the idea as simply another form of memecoin.

In reaction to these claims, Pollak argued that content holds intrinsic worth. He points out that creators generate trillions of dollars in business value globally, yet capture little of it.

In his view, content coins give creators the most powerful tool the industry has for enabling the free flow of value.

He stated:

“The content itself is fundamentally valuable. In a repeated game (like all these coins are), the fundamental value of any individual asset is downstream of the way the participants behave. just like in a traditional art market.”

Zora’s co-founder, Jacob Horne, also explained that this new model allows creators to earn from their work every time it goes viral, unlike traditional social platforms, where viral posts often generate little to no revenue for the creator.

As a result, the explosion of these content coins has helped Base briefly surpass Solana as the leading blockchain for daily token creation. Much of this growth has been driven by Zora, a protocol that allows users to turn digital content into tradable tokens.

According to data compiled by Sealaunch on Dune Analytics, Base saw over 100,000 new tokens minted on July 27 and 28 alone, most of them originating from Zora.

According to the firm, roughly 93% of users are classified as traders, while only 6.1% act solely as creators. Less than 1% engage in both roles.

Considering this, critics argue that Zora’s system encourages speculation over substance.

AI researcher Sterling Crispin pointed out that these kinds of tokens are shitcoins because they are “low liquidity coins on automated market makers with exponential price curves.”

According to him:

“You can call them Creator Coins, Culture Tokens, Internet Capital Markets, Music Tokens, AI Tokens, or Memecoins, but it won’t change the toxic fundamentals. It’s a zero sum PvP game of musical chairs. Nobody leaves with more than they came with unless someone else is losing. And retail gets rinsed by snipers, bundlers, coordinated pump and dumps, FNF groups, and industrial scale autonomous trading bots.”

Pollak, however, defended the model. He argued that content and creators have long been undervalued and that tokens can correct that imbalance.

He added:

“Coins are the most powerful technology we have as an industry for enabling the free flow of value. we should let creators use them.”
