Leading digital asset investment firm CoinShares says that institutional inflows into crypto products have set new monthly highs in July.

According to its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, CoinShares finds that digital assets just pushed over $11 billion over the last month, a new record before the month is even finished.

“Digital asset investment products saw US$1.9bn in inflows last week, marking the 15th consecutive week of positive sentiment. This pushed month-to-date inflows to a record US$11.2bn, significantly surpassing the US$7.6bn seen in December 2024 following the US election.”

Regionally speaking, the United States led globally with $2 billion in inflows, followed by Germany at $70 million. Hong Kong, Canada and Brazil suffered $160 million, $84.3 million and $23.2 million in outflows, respectively.

Institutional Ethereum (ETH) investment products continued their hot streak as current year-to-date inflows for the leading smart contract platform have already blown past 2024 totals.

“Ethereum stood out, unusually leading with US$1.59bn in inflows last week, its second-strongest week on record. Year-to-date inflows into Ethereum have now reached $7.79 bn, surpassing the total for all of last year.”

Bitcoin (BTC), unusually, suffered outflows of $175 million. According to CoinShares, this could mark the beginning of “altseason.”

“While inconclusive, there are some signs: Solana and XRP attracted substantial inflows of US$311m and US$189m respectively, with SUI also seeing US$8m.

However, beyond these names, inflows tapered off quickly. Several altcoins saw outflows, including Litecoin (US$1.2m) and Bitcoin Cash (US$0.66m).”

CoinShares has received approval from France’s financial regulator to operate under European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).

The license, granted on July 18 by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), allows the company to manage and advise on crypto asset portfolios across the EU.

The license was issued to CoinShares Asset Management, the firm’s French branch. With this approval, CoinShares becomes the first asset manager based in Europe to be registered under MiCA, which sets new EU rules for the crypto industry.

CoinShares stated that the company is currently the only crypto-focused asset manager in Europe to hold all three of these licenses.

With these approvals, CoinShares can legally provide crypto-related services throughout the EU. It has already extended its operations to several member states, including Germany, Ireland, Cyprus, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, and the Netherlands, using the EU’s “passporting” system.

Coinshare CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti stated that the new EU framework provides a more consistent and reliable set of rules. Crypto firms have had to work within incomplete or temporary systems, but MiCA brings clear standards across all EU countries.

Meanwhile, companies providing crypto services in the EU will need to comply with new rules starting in July 2027. What do these rules cover? Read the full story.

Institutional digital asset investment vehicles have enjoyed over $18 billion in inflows over the last twelve weeks, according to crypto asset management firm CoinShares.

In its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, CoinShares finds that inflows into institutional crypto investment vehicles in the last twelve weeks have pushed assets under management (AuM) to new all-time highs.

“Digital asset investment products recorded inflows of US$1.04bn last week, marking the 12th consecutive week of inflows, which now total US$18bn. Price gains over the week pushed total assets under management (AuM) to a new all-time high of US$188bn. Trading volumes reached US$16.3bn, in line with the weekly average so far this year.”

Source: CoinShares

Regionally speaking, the US led the charge with $1 billion in inflows. Switzerland and Germany also provided inflows of $33.7 million and $38.5 million. Meanwhile, Canada and Brazil saw outflows of $29.3 million and $9.7 million, respectively.

Bitcoin (BTC), as is the flagship crypto’s custom, enjoyed the biggest inflows, but this time, with a catch.

“Bitcoin investment products saw inflows of US$790m last week, marking a slowdown from the previous three weeks, which averaged US$1.5bn.

The moderation in inflows suggests that investors are becoming more cautious as Bitcoin approaches its all-time high price levels.”

Ethereum (ETH) continued its 11th consecutive week of inflows, adding $226 million in inflows last week alone in a continued outperformance of altcoins.

“On a proportional basis, weekly inflows during this run have averaged 1.6% of AuM, significantly higher than Bitcoin’s 0.8%, highlighting a notable shift in investor sentiment in favor of Ethereum.”

Digital asset management firm CoinShares says Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are leading crypto products into another week of inflows.

According to its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, CoinShares says that institutional crypto investment vehicles enjoyed over $1 billion in inflows last week alone, despite geopolitical tensions.

“Digital asset investment products recorded their 10th consecutive week of inflows, totaling US$1.24bn last week and pushing year-to-date (YTD) inflows to a new high of US$15.1bn.

However, the surge in activity earlier in the week tapered off in the latter half, likely due to the US Juneteenth holiday and emerging reports of US involvement in the Iran conflict.”

Source: CoinShares

Regionally, the US led internationally with $1.25 billion in inflows. Germany and Canada also provided $10.9 million and $20.9 million worth of inflows, respectively. Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Switzerland subtracted from the total with nearly $40 million in outflows combined.

Bitcoin led all inflows with $1.1 billion.

“… Despite the recent price correction, indicating that investors were buying on weakness. This sentiment was further supported by minor outflows from short-Bitcoin products, which totaled US$1.4m.”

ETH products experienced their ninth consecutive week of inflows. The current streak is the longest for Ethereum since 2021, reaching a cumulative total of $2.2 billion worth of inflows.

Institutional digital asset investment vehicles have enjoyed over $13 billion in inflows over the last nine weeks, according to leading global investment firm CoinShares.

In its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, CoinShares finds that last week’s institutional digital asset inflows have risen compared to the numbers in previous weeks despite rising geopolitical uncertainty.

“Despite geopolitical concerns weighing on risk assets last week, digital assets remained resilient, attracting inflows alongside gold.

Digital asset investment products recorded US$1.9bn in inflows, marking the ninth consecutive week of inflows. This brings the total inflows during this run to US$12.9bn, while year-to-date (YTD) inflows have reached a new record of US$13.2bn.”

Regionally, the US led internationally with $1.9 billion in inflows. Germany, Switzerland and Canada followed with $39.2 million, $20.7 million and $12.1 million in inflows, respectively.

“In contrast, Hong Kong and Brazil experienced outflows of US$56.8m and US$8.5m, respectively.”

Following two consecutive weeks of outflows, flagship crypto Bitcoin (BTC) is back on top with $1.3 billion in inflows.

Leading smart contract platform Ethereum (ETH) has been on an eight-week inflow streak, totalling to $2 billion, adding $583 million in inflows last week.

“Following a 3-week run of outflows, XRP saw US$11.8m in inflows, while Sui saw a further US$3.5m inflows.”

CoinShares: Bitcoin Drives $882M Weekly Inflows into Digital Assets https://earlybirdsinvest.com/coinshares-bitcoin-drives-882m-weekly-inflows-into-digital-assets/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/coinshares-bitcoin-drives-882m-weekly-inflows-into-digital-assets/#respond Tue, 13 May 2025 00:29:27 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/coinshares-bitcoin-drives-882m-weekly-inflows-into-digital-assets/

Bitcoin (BTC) continues to flex its dominance as the top digital asset, attracting $867 million in inflows last week alone, according to a fresh CoinShares report published on May 12.

This influx led the broader crypto investment products market, which collectively saw $882 million in inflows, marking the fourth consecutive week of gains and lifting year-to-date totals to $6.7 billion.

Record ETF Inflows

The surge in investor confidence comes against a backdrop of rising global liquidity and inflationary concerns in the U.S., which have sparked renewed interest in crypto as a hedge.

According to CoinShares analysts, the uptick in inflow is mainly due to a confluence of macroeconomic factors, including a rise in M2 money supply and heightened stagflation risks. Additionally, BTC’s growing institutional appeal, crowned by several U.S. states formally recognizing the flagship cryptocurrency as a strategic reserve asset, is helping to cement its role as a digital safe haven.

The CoinShares report showed that U.S.-listed crypto ETFs have now reached a record $62.9 billion in cumulative net inflows since launching in January 2024, topping the previous peak of $61.6 billion recorded in early February.

Regionally, the United States was the main driver of last week’s activity, with $840 million in inflows, followed by Germany, which raked in $44.5 million, and Australia, which attracted $10.2 million. The story was different for Canada and Hong Kong, which registered outflows of $8 million and $4.3 million, respectively.

Ethereum Struggles for Traction

CoinShares also noted that despite a sharp rise in the price of Ethereum (ETH) in recent days, its inflows still lagged significantly behind BTC, tallying just $1.5 million last week.

Sui drew attention, attracting $11.7 million and outperforming Solana (SOL), which lost $3.4 million worth of capital. Additionally, Sui has accumulated $84 million year-to-date, overtaking SOL’s $76 million and possibly signaling a shift in investor sentiment within the Layer-1 ecosystem.

Apart from shining in fund flows, from a price perspective, Bitcoin also looks to be maintaining its momentum. At the time of this writing, it was trading at $103,853, down a modest 0.8% in the past 24 hours. However, in the last week, it has gained 10.3%, moving within a 7-day range of $93,724 to $104,710, according to CoinGecko.

While it has slightly underperformed the broader crypto market, which went up 13.3% in the previous seven days, the number one crypto asset’s 30-day performance is solid, gaining 24.5% in that time. It remains just 4.6% below its all-time high of $108,786.

Crypto asset manager CoinShares says institutional digital asset investors have poured $5.5 billion into crypto over the past three weeks.

According to its latest Digital Asset Flows Weekly report, CoinShares says that crypto products enjoyed inflows of $2 billion last week alone.

“Digital asset investment products recorded a third consecutive week of inflows, totaling US$2bn last week. This brings total inflows over the past three weeks to US$5.5bn, marking a dramatic shift in sentiment following nine weeks of significant outflows.

Total inflows year-to-date (YTD) now total US$5.6bn while recent price moves have seen total assets under management (AuM) rise to US$156bn, the highest point since mid-February this year.”

Source: CoinShares

Regionally speaking, the United States led the world with $1.9 billion in inflows. Canada, Switzerland and Germany provided $20 million, $34 million and $47 million of additional inflows, respectively.

Per usual, Bitcoin (BTC) enjoyed the lion’s share of inflows last week at $1.8 billion.

“Ethereum saw a second week of solid inflows totaling US$149m, bringing the last 2 weeks of inflows to US$336m. Competitor Solana saw minor inflows of US$6m.”

XRP products raked in $10.5 million in inflows, while Cardano (ADA) and SUI products brought in $1.2 million and $0.3 million, respectively. Multi-asset crypto investment vehicles, which invest in a basket of crypto assets, enjoyed $1.9 million in inflows.

Crypto asset manager and research firm CoinShares says institutional investors poured millions of dollars into altcoin digital asset investment products last week.

In its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, CoinShares says crypto products enjoyed inflows last week after record-setting levels of outflows.

“Digital asset investment products saw US$226m of inflows last week suggesting a positive but cautious investor. Following the largest outflows on record, ETPs have seen 9 consecutive trading days of inflows.

Last Friday was the exception, seeing minor outflows totaling US$74m, likely in reaction to core personal consumption expenditure in the US coming in above expectations, implying the US Federal Reserve is likely to remain hawkish despite recent data alluding to weak growth.”

Bitcoin (BTC) products, as usual, led the charge with $195 million in inflows. The king crypto was followed by altcoins, which broke a month-long streak of outflows. Leading inflows were Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP and Sui (SUI).

“Altcoins in aggregate saw their first week of inflows totaling US$33m, following 4 consecutive weeks of outflows totaling US$1.7bn. The key beneficiaries being Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Sui, with inflows of US$14.5m, US$7.8m, US$4.8m and US$4.0m respectively.”

Regionally, the US led the world with $204 million in inflows. Switzerland and Germany also pitched in $14.7 and $9.2 million in inflows, respectively.

Crypto asset manager and research firm CoinShares says institutional investors poured millions of dollars into digital asset investment vehicles last week.

In its latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, CoinShares says crypto products finally snapped their worst run of investor outflows in 10 years.

“Digital asset investment products saw a reversal last week, breaking a five-week streak of outflows, with inflows totaling US$644m. Total assets under management have risen by 6.3% from their low point on March 10th.

Notably, every day last week recorded inflows, following a 17-day consecutive run of outflows — signaling a decisive shift in sentiment toward the asset class.”

The United States provided the majority of inflows at $632 million. However, the US wasn’t alone in pouring money into crypto investment vehicles. Switzerland, Germany and Hong Kong also raked in $16 million, $14 million, and $1.2 million in crypto inflows, respectively.

Bitcoin (BTC), as is its custom, enjoyed the majority of inflows at $724 million. This ended a five-week outflow streak, adding up to nearly $5.5 billion.

Solana (SOL), Polygon (MATIC) and Chainlink (LINK) investment vehicles saw inflows of $6.4 million, $0.4 million, and $0.2 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH), Sui, Polkadot (DOT), Tron (TRX) and Algorand (ALGO) products suffered $86 million, $1.3 million, $1.3 million, $0.95 million, and $0.82 million in outflows, respectively.

Crypto asset management giant CoinShares says institutional whales pulled billions of dollars out of crypto investment vehicles last week.

According to CoinShares’ latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly Report, institutional crypto investment products suffered $2.9 billion in outflows last week.

“Digital asset investment products saw a 3rd consecutive week of outflows, marking the largest weekly outflows on record at a total of US$2.9bn, bringing the three-week total to US$3.8bn. We believe several factors contributed to this trend, including the recent Bybit hack, a more hawkish Federal Reserve, and the preceding 19-week inflow streak totaling US$29bn.

These elements likely led to a mix of profit-taking and weakened sentiment toward the asset class.”

Source: CoinShares

Regionally, the US led in outflows to the tune of $2.87 billion. Switzerland and Canada followed at $73 million and $16.9 million in outflows, respectively, while Germany bucked the trend, adding $55.3 million in inflows.

Crypto king Bitcoin (BTC) took the worst of the negative sentiment, losing $2.6 billion in outflows.

“Ethereum did not escape the negative sentiment either, seeing a record weekly outflow totaling US$300m. Solana and Ton also saw US$7.4m and US$22.6m outflows respectively.”

Altcoins Sui (SUI), XRP and Litecoin (LTC) enjoyed inflows of $15.5 million, $5 million and $1 million, respectively.
