Does the Google Pixel 10 fit Pixel 9 cases?

Best answer: Even though the Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 share similar dimensions, they cannot share cases due to small differences in the camera bar and other details.

Similar dimensions don’t always translate to shared case usage

Time and time again, we’ve seen many flagship phones that seem to share identical dimensions — particularly phones from Google and Samsung. However, just because two phones measure the same on paper, this does not mean that you can use phone cases designed for either model on the other device.

Smartphone manufacturers often make changes to the design of their phones, even if the size remains the same as the previous iteration. For example, the placement of the power button or volume button might change. In some instances, the speaker grills change positions. A change in the style and size of camera lenses or camera bars is also a common occurrence.

Sometimes, even when the stars seem to align, the slightest shifts in design can make a significant difference. This is the case with the Pixel 10 and Pixel 9.

As you can see from the table above, the on-paper measurements of the two Pixels are almost exactly the same. Going off of just the specs, you would think that the Google Pixel 10 can fit Pixel 9 cases. However, this is not the case.

Google changed the size of the camera island with the Pixel 10, so the shape and length don’t match the Pixel 9. The speaker, grills, mic, and USB-C port are also misaligned with the last-gen Pixel. Thus, even if you manage to fit a soft Pixel 9 case on your Pixel 10, you’ll end up covering the speaker and getting a poor fit. Hard Pixel 9 cases won’t fit the Pixel 10 at all.

Even if you manage to fit a flexible silicone or TPU case designed for the Pixel 9 on your Pixel 10, it isn’t a good idea to do so. Since the case is designed to add protection to the Pixel 9, it will not provide the same level of impact absorption or drop-proofing to your Pixel 10. It’s simply not worth the risk. Please buy a new Google Pixel 10 case instead. There are plenty of excellent options in varying price ranges.

These are the Pixel 10 cases I’d buy as a phone case reviewer https://earlybirdsinvest.com/these-are-the-pixel-10-cases-id-buy-as-a-phone-case-reviewer/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/these-are-the-pixel-10-cases-id-buy-as-a-phone-case-reviewer/#respond Fri, 22 Aug 2025 10:58:43 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/these-are-the-pixel-10-cases-id-buy-as-a-phone-case-reviewer/

The Google Pixel 10 family is finally here, and with it a fancy new totally-not-MagSafe feature called Pixelsnap and a minor design refresh. If you’re planning to upgrade, the bad news is that Pixel 9 cases are not compatible, so you’ll need to pick up a new one. The good news is that there are tons of great cases to choose from, especially if you want to take advantage of Pixelsnap.

I’ve been reviewing cases for years here at Android Authority, and although the cases are still on their way for testing (I’ll update this post as soon as I get my hands on them), I already have a few recommendations for any of you who want to buy one alongside your pre-order and forget about it until the phone ships next week.

Before you buy, note that Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro cases are the same size, but Google Pixel 10 Pro XL cases are significantly larger. Make sure you pick the right option before pulling the trigger.

Spigen Liquid Air

Spigen Liquid Air Pixel 10 case

The Spigen Liquid Air has been one of my favorite basic cases for years. It’s nothing crazy, just a flexible TPU case with a subtle texture, but for most people, I think that will be enough. This year Spigen added MagFit magnets to its entire lineup of Pixel 10 cases, so you can still take advantage of Pixelsnap accessories.

The only downside is a lack of color. It only comes in black, gray, and dark green, although I was surprised how much I liked the gray model when it launched last year. This is also one of the cheapest cases available, so you can always start with this one and pick up something more elaborate in a few months when more cases are available.

For more texture, check out the Parallax. It’s another TPU case with a 3D texture on the back, but only the black colorway is available at launch. Personally, I’d recommend waiting for some of the more interesting options to come out before picking it up.

Mous Limitless

Mous Limitless Pixel 10 case

The Mous Limitless is the case I’ve been using on my Pixel 9 for the past year, and I still love it. It’s not particularly thin, but the addition of premium materials on the back really elevates the design. There are some grip strips on the sides, but it doesn’t have an aggressive texture to trigger my tactile ick sense.

This case has had magnets for years, so it’s no surprise that the trend continues now that Pixelsnap is a thing. They are expensive, though, so make sure you get one that you won’t get tired of in a few months.

Thinborne

Google Pixel 10 Pro Case Leak Thinborne (8 of 8)

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

Pixel 10 Pro case

When it comes to super-thin cases, the Thinborne is one of your best options. It’s ultra thin, and it would feel like you’re not using a case at all if it weren’t for the gentle slope around the camera bump and the premium Aramid fiber texture. Despite how thin it is, it still has an integrated magnet array for Pixelsnap or MagSafe accessories.

We actually got our hands on this case way back in June, before the Pixel 10 was revealed. It impressed us then and continues to impress us now, so it’s worth buying if you can stretch your budget. For a similar case with more color options, also check out the Mous Super Thin.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid

Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pixel 10 case

I’ve never been a big fan of clear cases, but if I had to recommend one, it would be the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. It’s a clear step up from the cheap TPU cases you see everywhere on the market, and it’s worth spending a few extra bucks. It’s more protective, has Pixelsnap-compatible magnets, and is still super affordable.

There’s a fully clear option and a frosted black option at launch, with a third Neo One option coming at a later date. If you just want something cheap and cheerful that doesn’t completely hide your fancy new Pixel 10 colorway, this is a safe choice.

dbrand Grip case

dbrand Grip Pixel 10 case

Switching to more rugged options, the dbrand Grip is a beefy case with a few unique selling points. For starters, it really lives up to its name. It’s one of the grippiest cases I’ve ever held, and not always in a good way. Sure, it’s almost impossible to slip from your fingers, but the microdot texture all around the case can also be abrasive for anyone with delicate baby hands (that’s me).

The other great thing about this case is that you can customize it to your liking with one of dozens of vinyl skins for the back. These match the designs available on dbrand’s phone skins, and some of them are very cool. You can also swap them out to keep things fresh, although they’re not exactly cheap.

Otterbox Defender Series Pro XT with Pixelsnap

Otterbox Defender Pro Series XL Pixel 10 case

Otterbox needs no introduction, nor does its ultra-rugged Defender Series Pro case. It’s the most protective case I’ve ever used, with a two-part design that’s sure to keep your Pixel 10 safe. This year Otterbox added Pixelsnap magnets to its entire case lineup, so despite the bulk you can still get full Qi2 charging speeds with compatible wireless chargers.

Needless to say, this case is made to take a beating. It has enormous bumpers, a thick bezel around the screen, and port covers. The colors aren’t particularly inspiring, but you probably aren’t buying this case for the looks. It is expensive though, so make sure you can put up with the extra weight before splashing the cash.

Spigen Tough Armor

Spigen Tough Armor Pixel 10 case

For more affordable protection, I recommend the Spigen Tough Armor Pixel 10 case. It’s still pretty bulky, but it keeps things more streamlined than the Otterbox case above. The rubbery sides also feel great in hand, making this a solid overall choice.

Like all other Spigen Pixel 10 cases, this one also has an integrated magnet array. There’s also a kickstand on the back, although your mileage may vary when it comes to the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Larger devices have struggled with smaller kickstands on previous designs, so you may want to use a beefier Pixelsnap stand instead.

Best Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold cases 2025 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/best-google-pixel-10-pro-fold-cases-2025/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/best-google-pixel-10-pro-fold-cases-2025/#respond Thu, 21 Aug 2025 08:08:42 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/best-google-pixel-10-pro-fold-cases-2025/

Google did exceedingly well with the Pixel 10 series. All of the models launched come with Qi2, including the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This means that the best Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold cases feature magnetism as well as robustness. The number of cases released for the Google foldable is more than I’ve seen in the past, which is a positive trend. The pool of cases to choose from is wider than ever. Come, take a gander at what’s available.

Pick a durable Pixel 10 Pro Fold case that enhances your user experience

There’s an unexpectedly wide array of the best Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold cases on the roster. There are options in every budget, be it below $40, below $30, or even below $20. Naturally, you get what you pay for, but what you get is still surprisingly adequate at lower price points.

All things considered, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Pixelsnap Case is the best overall case for the foldable. The soft, velvety texture feels really smooth against the skin. It works effortlessly well with the Pixelsnap ecosystem of accessories, and there are three assorted colors to choose from. The only issue is the steep price tag, which stands at $70 right now.

Cheaper options exist aplenty. You should stick with reputable brands like Spigen when shopping with a tight wallet. This guarantees you get your money’s worth. For instance, the Spigen Slim Armor Pro MagFit for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold costs about $45, but you get everything and more. The drop-proofing, impact resistance, raised edges, and reinforced spine are all characteristics of much more expensive Pixel 10 Pro Fold cases. In addition to all this, you also get certified Pixelsnap integration.

If you’d like to show off the design and color of your Pixel 10 Pro Fold, a translucent or transparent case might be more appropriate. In that case, try the semi-see-through Ghostek Covert case or the fully clear FNTCASE Clear Magnetic Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Case instead.

Crypto ATMs Outlawed in Spokane After Fraud Cases Rise https://earlybirdsinvest.com/crypto-atms-outlawed-in-spokane-after-fraud-cases-rise/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/crypto-atms-outlawed-in-spokane-after-fraud-cases-rise/#respond Wed, 18 Jun 2025 15:03:04 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/crypto-atms-outlawed-in-spokane-after-fraud-cases-rise/

Washington’s second-largest city, Spokane, has decided to ban all crypto ATMs due to growing concerns about scams that have affected local residents.

The City Council voted unanimously to approve the ban, according to a statement published on June 16.

The new rule not only blocks the installation of new crypto ATMs but also requires the removal of all existing machines within 60 days. If operators fail to do so, they could lose their business licenses or face other penalties.

The city plans to monitor scam reports to determine if removing the machines results in fewer cases.

The decision was led by Council member Paul Dillon, who told The Spokesman-Review that these machines are being used by scammers to trick people out of their money. The goal of the ban is to protect residents from being targeted through these kiosks.

Local police reported that many scams involve criminals pretending to be government agents or law enforcement officers. They convince victims that they must transfer money using crypto ATMs to avoid trouble or protect their savings.

Detective Tim Schwering explained that once the money is converted to crypto, it often ends up in foreign countries. City officials also noted that these kiosks are often found in lower-income areas, such as corner stores or small markets.

On June 10, Connecticut passed a new law banning all public crypto holdings and payments. What does the law include? Read the full story.

Trump’s Trade War Now Closer to Endgame As White House Loses Court Cases, According to Fundstrat’s Tom Lee https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trumps-trade-war-now-closer-to-endgame-as-white-house-loses-court-cases-according-to-fundstrats-tom-lee/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trumps-trade-war-now-closer-to-endgame-as-white-house-loses-court-cases-according-to-fundstrats-tom-lee/#respond Mon, 02 Jun 2025 07:14:13 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trumps-trade-war-now-closer-to-endgame-as-white-house-loses-court-cases-according-to-fundstrats-tom-lee/

The chief investment officer of investment firm Fundstrat says that President Donald Trump’s trade war is nearing its end as courts rule against the White House.

In a new video update on the Fundstrat Capital YouTube channel, Tom Lee says that court rulings against Trump’s tariffs suggest that the White House is losing leverage.

“In our view, the tariff war and concerns have a bark worse than the bite. Let me explain, for instance… on May 28th, the international trade court ruled against the Trump tariffs. Now it didn’t remove all of them, but it ruled against them and on Thursday, May 29th, the DC District Court Judge Contreras ruled that [the] tariffs are illegal.

So it’s two cases ruling against White House tariffs, but on the same day, the Federal Court of Appeals issued an administrative stay which reinstates the tariffs – at least through June 9th – but you can see this is getting quite complicated and the White House is insisting nothing has changed after the tariff rulings.

And in fact, Goldman Sachs highlights that there’s many measures the White House can take to implement or re-implement tariffs. But ultimately, the White House is losing leverage, and it’s taking us closer to the endgame.”

Lee also says that due to the rulings, Trump will struggle to revamp the trade war, and that the White House will be looking for an exit strategy on the matter soon.

Lee goes on to note that tariff visibility and other factors have led to a better investment outlook for stocks now compared to earlier this year.

“The investment outlook is better for stocks now arguably than it was in February 2025 because you’ve got tariff visibility, you have tax and deregulation visibility, [and] the companies survived [a] fifth major stress test… and the Fed is arguably more dovish next year.”

Integrating Smart Contracts with IoT and AI: Use Cases and Potential https://earlybirdsinvest.com/integrating-smart-contracts-with-iot-and-ai-use-cases-and-potential/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/integrating-smart-contracts-with-iot-and-ai-use-cases-and-potential/#respond Tue, 20 May 2025 16:59:41 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/integrating-smart-contracts-with-iot-and-ai-use-cases-and-potential/
Smart Contracts with IoT and AI
Smart Contracts with IoT and AI

The convergence of smart contracts, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the way businesses operate. By combining these technologies, organizations can automate complex processes, improve data reliability, and unlock new opportunities for efficiency and trust. This blog explores how integrating smart contracts with IoT and AI can deliver value across industries, highlights practical use cases, and outlines the potential for businesses seeking to work with a Smart Contract Development Company.

Smart Contracts

Smart contracts are self-executing agreements with the terms directly written into code. They operate on blockchain networks, ensuring that transactions and conditions are fulfilled automatically, without intermediaries. This automation brings transparency, security, and reliability to digital agreements.

Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT refers to the network of interconnected devices-sensors, machines, appliances-that collect and exchange data. These devices monitor environments, automate responses, and generate valuable insights for businesses.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI enables systems to analyze data, learn from patterns, and make decisions. When paired with smart contracts, AI can process large datasets, verify information, and trigger contract actions based on real-world events.

  • Automation: Automate workflows and transactions based on real-time data from IoT devices and AI analysis.
  • Security: Blockchain-backed smart contracts reduce risks of tampering and unauthorized access.
  • Transparency: All actions and transactions are recorded immutably, fostering trust.
  • Efficiency: Reduce manual intervention, minimize errors, and streamline business processes.

When smart contracts and IoT devices are integrated, devices can securely exchange data and automatically execute agreements. For example, in logistics, an IoT sensor can monitor a shipment’s temperature. If it deviates from the acceptable range, a smart contract can automatically trigger notifications, process insurance claims, or adjust supply chain schedules.

This integration allows devices to act autonomously, reducing delays and human errors. The result is a more responsive and reliable system for managing assets, inventory, and services.

AI brings intelligence to smart contracts by enabling:

  • Autonomous Decision-Making: AI agents can analyze data and trigger contract actions without human input.
  • Dynamic Parameter Adjustments: AI can adjust contract terms in real time based on changing conditions, such as market prices or inventory levels.
  • Data Verification: AI processes and verifies large datasets, ensuring only accurate information triggers contract events.
  • Risk Management: AI monitors for anomalies or risks, triggering preventative actions or alerts.
  • Complex Workflow Automation: AI can handle intricate business processes, such as loan approvals or insurance claims, by assessing multiple data points and making decisions within contract boundaries.

1. Supply Chain Management

  • Automated Tracking: IoT sensors monitor goods in transit. Smart contracts execute payments or trigger alerts based on sensor data (e.g., temperature, humidity).
  • Fraud Reduction: Immutable records prevent tampering with shipment data.
  • AI-Driven Optimization: AI analyzes logistics data to optimize routes and inventory, triggering smart contract actions for reordering or rerouting.

2. Healthcare

  • Patient Data Management: IoT devices collect patient vitals; smart contracts securely store and share data with authorized parties.
  • Automated Insurance Claims: AI verifies claim data and smart contracts release payments when conditions are met, reducing delays and errors.

3. Energy and Utilities

  • Smart Metering: IoT meters track energy usage; smart contracts automate billing and payments.
  • Grid Management: AI predicts demand and adjusts supply contracts, improving efficiency and reliability.

4. Real Estate

  • Automated Leasing: IoT sensors monitor property usage; smart contracts manage lease agreements and automate rent payments.
  • Maintenance Requests: AI detects anomalies (e.g., equipment failures) and triggers maintenance contracts.

5. Insurance

  • Parametric Insurance: IoT sensors detect events (e.g., weather conditions); smart contracts automatically process claims.
  • Fraud Detection: AI analyzes claim data for inconsistencies, reducing fraudulent payouts.

6. Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

  • Automated Trading: AI agents execute trades based on real-time market data; smart contracts handle settlements.
  • Yield Optimization: AI manages liquidity and adjusts strategies, with smart contracts enforcing rules.

7. Manufacturing

  • Predictive Maintenance: IoT sensors track equipment health; AI predicts failures, and smart contracts schedule repairs.
  • Quality Assurance: Smart contracts verify compliance with standards using sensor data.
  • Reduced Costs: Automation decreases the need for manual oversight and reduces operational expenses.
  • Improved Accuracy: AI and IoT provide reliable data, minimizing errors in contract execution.
  • Faster Transactions: Automated processes speed up approvals, payments, and service delivery.
  • Stronger Security: Blockchain and cryptographic protocols protect sensitive data and transactions.
  • Integration Complexity: Combining IoT, AI, and smart contracts requires technical expertise.
  • Data Quality: Reliable outcomes depend on accurate data from IoT devices.
  • Security Risks: IoT devices can be vulnerable; robust security measures are essential.
  • Scalability: Managing large volumes of data and transactions may require advanced infrastructure.
  • Clear Documentation: Maintain detailed specifications, diagrams, and testing records for smart contracts.
  • Rigorous Testing: Simulate real-world scenarios to identify and fix bugs before deployment.
  • Access Controls: Limit who can trigger or modify contracts to prevent unauthorized actions.
  • Incident Response Plans: Prepare procedures for handling bugs, breaches, or system failures.
  • Regular Audits: Conduct smart contract audits to identify vulnerabilities and maintain trust.

As IoT devices proliferate and AI capabilities advance, integrating these technologies with smart contracts will become increasingly valuable. Businesses can expect:

  • Greater Automation: More processes will be handled autonomously, reducing the need for manual intervention.
  • New Business Models: Dynamic, data-driven contracts will enable innovative services and partnerships.
  • Increased Trust: Transparent and immutable records will build confidence among stakeholders.

Partnering with a Smart Contract Development Company is the first step toward unlocking these benefits. Expert teams can help design, develop, and deploy custom smart contracts that integrate seamlessly with IoT and AI systems, ensuring reliability and security.

Integrating smart contracts with IoT and AI presents a significant opportunity for businesses to automate operations, improve data accuracy, and strengthen trust. From supply chain management to insurance and finance, the use cases are diverse and growing. By working with a Smart Contract Development Company, organizations can harness these technologies to achieve their business goals and stay ahead in a competitive market.

Best AirTag Cases & Holders 2025: Brilliant Accessories https://earlybirdsinvest.com/best-airtag-cases-holders-2025-brilliant-accessories/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/best-airtag-cases-holders-2025-brilliant-accessories/#respond Wed, 09 Apr 2025 04:13:07 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/best-airtag-cases-holders-2025-brilliant-accessories/

Here at Macworld we’re extremely fond of Apple’s AirTag, which we consider by far the best Bluetooth tracker for an iPhone or Mac user. However, one complaint raised in our AirTag review was that it doesn’t have an attachment (or keyring) hole, which means you’re forced in most situations to buy an accessory to put it in.

Want to attach it to your keys? You need to buy a special key ring. Want to attach it to your luggage? Special luggage label. An ecosystem has quickly sprung up offering straps, loops, pet tags, cases and holders for AirTag owners.

But which ones are worth buying? We’ve been testing out all the AirTags accessories we can get our hands on, so we can help you find the best AirTag holder for your needs from key rings, luggage tags, wallets and more. We have also included a growing list of trackers and accessories that might not be AirTags themselves but work seemlessly with Apple’s Find My app and ecosystem

Best AirTag Key Rings

Apple AirTag FineWoven Key Ring

There are cheaper alternatives, but this is the classic AirTag key ring—replacing the previous Apple Leather Key Ring, now that Apple has gone fully vegan in honor of its legendary co-founder Steve Jobs. It’s light, attractive and reassuringly well-made. It’s easy to put the AirTag inside, but the metal popper won’t let it escape. And we love the large, chunky (but quite flat) ring, although we’d recommend testing it out in a shop if you’re planning on attaching car keys with a small aperture. This reviewer’s Nissan and Skoda keys were both a tight fit.

The fabric covering protects the AirTag’s edge from drop damage but leaves most of its chassis, both front and back, open to the elements and liable to scuff a little—a complaint publicly made about Apple’s FineWoven iPhone cases. We think this is worth it for the pleasing look, and scuffing is both inevitable and minor, but if you want total protection you’ll need to look elsewhere.

It’s available in five colors: Black, Deep Blue, Blackberry, Dark Green and Chartreuse–David Price

Although it now looks to be discontinued you can still find Apple’s fine AirTag Loop on sale. It is made of polyurethane and feels and looks smart, with two of the color options (Electric Orange and Sunflower) particularly bright and cheerful. This will also help you to spot your suitcase on the conveyor belt.

The AirTag clips in using a metal clasp that’s easy to use and secure; you then put the strap around your luggage’s handle and loop the head part back through the slit in the tail. It looks slightly delicate at first glance–the strap gets quite thin at a certain point–but proved resistant to moderate tugging and should be fine under non-military usage conditions. Like Apple’s key ring, it protects the edges of the AirTag but not the center of its two faces, so expect some scuffing.–David Price

It’s one of the best water bottle carry loops we have tested, and all its extra features really are bonuses.

Lighters are easy to leave behind or lend to someone and forget to ask for it back. One solution is to hide an AirTag inside the lighter so you can track it down and get it back when this happens.

This refillable lighter, crafted like the company’s iPhone cases, from military-grade aramid fiber and premium zinc alloy, looks like a card case rather than a cheap off-the-shelf lighter. Pitaka claims that the lighter’s blue pyramid-shaped flame is unaffected by wind, and that it features a built-in gravity lock pin to ensures that it can’t create a flame when upside down.

If the Apple AirTag is just not right for you, check out these Bluetooth tracker recommended AirTag alternatives.

What you can expect in an AirTag case

Because the AirTag comes in a single variety, you don’t need to choose which kind to acquire. Apple sells them singly ($29) and in a four-pack ($99). Engraving is free.

An AirTag regularly broadcasts 2.4GHz Bluetooth signals with an encrypted device ID for other Apple devices to pick up and relay along with those devices’ locations. The 2.4GHz band penetrates solid objects well, but case designers need to be mindful of materials that have the potential to block the signal. In our survey of AirTag cases, we didn’t find a case so far that had that design problem.

AirTags also use ultrawideband (USB) technology for Precision Finding, exclusive to Apple’s own Find My items. Precision Finding lets an iPhone with UWB identify the direction and distance within inches when it’s within about 15 to 30 feet (4.5 to 9 m).

Consider to what use you may put an AirTag to determine the features you want:

  • Purpose: Cases exist in enough variety that you can find one designed as a luggage tag, another as a stylish keyring, and another to resist enormous amounts of damage. Figure out where you want to put the AirTag and match the case to it.
  • Water resistance: Many cases feature some degree of water resistance, some using the IP rating that defines precisely how much. If you’re using an AirTag outside or on a pet’s collar, you may want one with a high degree of resistance. When attaching to a bag or keyring, it may seem less important or not important at all.
  • Ring, clip, loop, or carabiner: Case makers offer many variants on attachments. Some include a simple hole to attach a keychain, while others incorporate a keychain as part of the product and may include a keyring. You can purchase multiple cases built into a carabiner, including one with a three-digit combination lock. You can also get a string or similar loop design, in which the case passes through a loop and pulls tight on a handle without a knot.
  • Removable or adhesive: You might want an AirTag case that’s easy to move about or attach and reattach. Other cases include adhesive for semi-permanent fixed attachment.
  • Hidden for theft recovery: Some cases are designed to hide an AirTag, making its presence less apparent and thus less likely to be discovered if stolen; others are obvious, such as in a keychain or luggage tag. Temper hideability with the knowledge that Apple’s anti-stalking features built into AirTag tech makes them discoverable to criminals with a smartphone.Shows the front: Conversely, some cases show off an AirTag, revealing its front where you might have had added custom engraving from Apple with an emoji or text. You might want to see that engraving to differentiate among AirTags you own.
  • Cost: Cases generally cost from about $20 to $35—around the price of a single AirTag. However, there are outliers below $10 and above $40. It’s all about the function, ruggedness, and complexity of purpose. Some charge extra for style.

How we test AirTag case features

For each kind of case, we rated them based on specific features around which they were designed. These include:

  • Easy to insert the AirTag for secure retention: Every case has a slightly different approach to getting an AirTag inside. Some cases have an elaborate locking procedure or require removing and restoring four tiny screws to preserve a waterproof seal. Others are simple as sliding the tag into a holding or popping it into a rubber ring.
  • Attaches securely for attachable cases: We tested cases that market themselves as attachable at how well they succeed at that task. Cases may come with or be part of a keyring, carabiner, wrist strip, or pet collar, or may have an adhesive to stick on to objects, like the inside of luggage.
  • Access for battery replacement: Apple expects an AirTag battery to last for about a year in everyday usage, which it defines as one case of Precision Finding and four tones played per day. A case should allow access that isn’t maddening for replacing the battery every several months to a year.
  • Robust against bumps and bangs: Only a few kinds of cases can avoid the wear and tear of bumping against other objects. Most need to be constructed with that in mind. For cases exposed to other surfaces, we look at whether the materials and build quality give confidence in them provide lasting value.
  • Blocks access to remove: A handful of cases provide a security element intended to prevent access to an AirTag without excessive force—the AirTag would have to be destroyed to remove it. We rate these cases on whether they seem able to prevent or deter everything but destruction.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has emerged as a significant force in the financial sector, offering a wide range of innovative solutions that challenge traditional banking systems. As we move into 2025, understanding the top DeFi use cases is crucial for businesses and individuals looking to engage with decentralized finance development companies. Here, we will explore the top 10 DeFi use cases that are set to shape the future of finance.

DeFi refers to financial services and systems built on blockchain technology, which operates independently of traditional financial institutions. It provides a decentralized, transparent, and secure way to manage financial transactions, lending, borrowing, and more. The use of smart contracts automates processes, reducing the need for intermediaries and increasing efficiency.

Decentralized exchanges are platforms where users can trade cryptocurrencies directly with each other without the need for intermediaries. Unlike centralized exchanges, DEXs operate on smart contracts, allowing users to maintain full control over their assets. This setup reduces the risk of hacks and scams, as funds are not held by a third party. Popular DEXs like Uniswap have become benchmarks for decentralized trading, with billions of dollars in trading volume each month.

Key Features:

  • Security: Transactions are executed through smart contracts, minimizing the risk of fraud.
  • Control: Users maintain full control over their assets.
  • Accessibility: Anyone can list a token and provide liquidity.

Platforms like Aave, Compound, and MakerDAO have revolutionized lending and borrowing by allowing users to obtain loans directly through smart contracts. This process is faster and more transparent than traditional banking methods. Users can also earn interest on their idle assets by lending them out, often at rates higher than those offered by traditional banks.

Key Features:

  • Speed: Loans are processed quickly without the need for intermediaries.
  • Transparency: All transactions are recorded on the blockchain.
  • Returns: Higher interest rates for lenders compared to traditional banking.

DAOs are community-led organizations governed by rules encoded as smart contracts on the blockchain. This setup allows financial decisions to be made collectively by the community, eliminating the need for central authority. Examples include Uniswap DAO and MakerDAO, which have successfully implemented community governance models.

Key Features:

  • Community Governance: Decisions are made collectively by token holders.
  • Transparency: All actions are recorded on the blockchain.
  • Efficiency: Faster decision-making processes.

Prediction markets allow users to speculate on the outcomes of future events, such as election results or sports outcomes. These markets use smart contracts to automate payouts and maintain transparency. Platforms like Polymarket have gained popularity by providing a decentralized and secure way to engage in event speculation.

Key Features:

  • Speculation: Users can bet on various outcomes.
  • Transparency: Smart contracts automate payouts.
  • Accessibility: Open to anyone with an internet connection.

DeFi enables instant cross-border payments using stablecoins like USDC. This eliminates the need for intermediaries, reducing transaction fees and processing times. Businesses can send money globally without waiting days for transactions to clear.

Key Features:

  • Speed: Transactions are processed almost instantly.
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Lower transaction fees compared to traditional banking.
  • Accessibility: Available to anyone with a digital wallet.

DeFi platforms allow real-world assets such as real estate, art, and company shares to be tokenized. This process enables fractional ownership, making high-value investments more accessible to a wider audience. Tokenization also increases liquidity and transparency by allowing assets to be traded on decentralized exchanges.

Key Features:

  • Fractional Ownership: Assets can be split into smaller, tradable parts.
  • Increased Liquidity: Assets can be traded 24/7 on decentralized exchanges.
  • Transparency: Transactions are recorded on the blockchain.

Traditional insurance often involves high costs and lengthy claim settlement processes. DeFi insurance platforms use smart contracts to provide more efficient and transparent insurance services. These platforms cover risks such as smart contract exploits and liquidity pool failures.

Key Features:

  • Efficiency: Claims are processed automatically through smart contracts.
  • Transparency: All transactions are recorded on the blockchain.
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Lower premiums compared to traditional insurance.

DeFi allows users to manage their digital assets securely and privately. Platforms like Metamask and Gnosis Safe enable users to store and manage their assets without sharing sensitive information with third parties4.

Key Features:

  • Privacy: Users maintain control over their sensitive data.
  • Security: Assets are stored securely using encryption.
  • Accessibility: Easy management of digital assets.

Liquid staking allows users to stake their cryptocurrencies while still maintaining liquidity. This means users can earn staking rewards without locking their assets for extended periods. Liquid staking platforms are becoming increasingly popular as they offer flexibility and higher yields2.

Key Features:

  • Flexibility: Assets remain liquid while earning staking rewards.
  • Yield: Higher returns compared to traditional staking methods.
  • Accessibility: Open to anyone with a digital wallet.

DeFi aggregators are platforms that combine services from multiple DeFi protocols to provide users with a more streamlined experience. They allow users to access a variety of financial services, such as lending, borrowing, and trading, from a single interface1.

Key Features:

  • Convenience: Access multiple services from one platform.
  • Efficiency: Simplifies the process of navigating different DeFi protocols.
  • Accessibility: Makes DeFi more user-friendly for newcomers.

DeFi is rapidly changing the financial sector by offering decentralized, secure, and transparent financial services. As businesses and individuals look to engage with DeFi, understanding these top use cases is essential for navigating the decentralized finance development landscape. Whether it’s decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, or asset tokenization, each use case presents unique opportunities for innovation and growth.

SEC Closes Key Crypto Cases— Is It a Turning Point? https://earlybirdsinvest.com/sec-closes-key-crypto-cases-is-it-a-turning-point/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/sec-closes-key-crypto-cases-is-it-a-turning-point/#respond Mon, 31 Mar 2025 15:33:53 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/sec-closes-key-crypto-cases-is-it-a-turning-point/

The SEC has wrapped up several high-profile investigations involving some of the industry’s biggest names, like Ripple, Immutable, Kraken, OpenSea, and Yuga Labs. This could signal a real change in how regulators treat crypto, especially with Commissioner Hester Peirce now heading a revamped Crypto Task Force in the United States.

The focus is shifting toward striking a balance between investor protection and innovation—a move that could help reshape the future of blockchain regulation.

Key Takeaways

  • The SEC has ended investigations into several major crypto firms, including Ripple and Immutable.

  • Ripple settled with the SEC for $50 million, down from the original $125 million fine.

  • Immutable’s probe closed with no enforcement action.

  • A 2025 Executive Order reversed earlier crypto policies and banned Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).

  • Despite the closures, legal challenges and regulatory uncertainty persist for many crypto companies.

Ripple’s Legal Win and Settlement Details

After nearly four years of legal battles, Ripple has finalized a $50 million settlement with the SEC—significantly reduced from the original $125 million. Both Ripple and the SEC dropped their appeals, officially closing the case in March 2025.

The SEC will refund $75 million of the $125 million fine a New York judge had ordered Ripple to pay last year, finalizing the settlement at $50 million. The outcome is seen as a landmark moment for crypto regulation, setting a precedent for companies pushing back against SEC enforcement actions.

Immutable Investigation Ends Without Penalty

In another major development, the SEC closed its investigation into Immutable with no enforcement action. The probe centred around the company’s 2021 IMX token sales and a blog post on pricing and token splits.

Immutable called the closure a “win for all builders, creators and gamers fighting for true digital ownership in gaming”.

Despite the investigation, Immutable maintained strong momentum:

  • Signed partnerships with three billion-dollar firms

  • Launched over 500 gaming titles

  • Built zkEVM blockchain infrastructure

  • Reached 4.9 million Passport sign-ups

SEC Backs Off Multiple Crypto Cases

Recent moves by the SEC suggest a more lenient approach to crypto regulation. The agency has either closed or backed away from several major cases involving Yuga Labs, Kraken, Coinbase, OpenSea, and Binance—all high-profile players in the industry.

  • Yuga Labs announced on March 4 that the SEC ended its nearly three-year investigation into the company’s NFT offerings. While the SEC hasn’t officially commented, the decision suggests it doesn’t view Yuga’s NFTs as securities.

  • Kraken shared on March 3 that the SEC plans to dismiss its 2023 lawsuit, which accused the exchange of selling unregistered securities. The case will wrap up with no penalties, no changes to Kraken’s business, and no admission of wrongdoing.

A Shift in U.S. Crypto Policy

These investigation closures align with broader changes in crypto policy under the current administration. In January 2025, a new Executive Order reversed several Biden-era regulations, banned CBDCs, and launched a pro-innovation Working Group on Digital Asset Markets.

Commissioner Hester Peirce now leads the revamped Crypto Task Force, tasked with developing clear and balanced regulatory frameworks.

These changes reflect a growing effort to create a regulatory environment that encourages growth while maintaining oversight.

In a recent speech, SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce emphasized the need for regulators and the crypto industry to collaborate, stating:

“I invite you to join us in determining how to get from regulatory desolation to a place where the crypto industry can blossom without the weeds of fraud, grift, and market manipulation.”

She acknowledged that centralized intermediaries won’t disappear anytime soon, yet warned that if rules are “too heavy, too light, or simply not right,” people will turn to decentralized options.

Peirce also suggested that crypto’s innovations could help modernize equity markets, explaining:

“Perhaps these discussions also will help us to rationalize the regulatory framework for our traditional equity markets… Blockchain technology might even be an agent in that streamlining initiative.”

Market Reaction and Industry Outlook

The crypto market responded with measured optimism. XRP’s price held steady post-settlement, suggesting the outcome had already been priced in. Meanwhile, regulatory clarity is expected to improve investor confidence—especially among institutions wary of compliance risks.

The Web3 gaming space stands to benefit from reduced regulatory pressure, and Immutable’s progress during its investigation is a sign of resilience in the sector.

Looking ahead, proposals like a national crypto reserve could further reshape asset liquidity and create new opportunities for blockchain-based finance.

What’s Next for Crypto Regulation?

The SEC’s rollback of enforcement signals a more constructive approach to regulation. Industry players are now looking for more clarity on token classification and long-term compliance standards.

The current direction aims to support innovation without compromising investor protection. As new frameworks are introduced, they’ll likely shape how crypto assets are governed—and could help position the U.S. as a leader in blockchain development.

For crypto companies, this shift opens the door to greater focus on building and scaling—with less immediate pressure from regulators. Still, staying compliant remains essential in an evolving legal landscape.
