A federal court in Houston has ruled against Nathan Fuller’s attempt to eliminate over $12.5 million in debt through bankruptcy.

The decision followed findings that Fuller ran his investment company as a fraudulent crypto operation, according to a press release from the Justice Department’s Office of Public Affairs.

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed that Fuller misled the court by hiding assets, altering financial documents, and admitting that his firm, Privvy Investments LLC, operated as a Ponzi scheme.

His bankruptcy petition, filed in October 2024 after legal action from investors, did not hold up under further investigation.

After authorities reviewed the case, they discovered that Fuller had given false information in his personal and business filings. He also failed to disclose the full extent of his finances, which led to additional legal consequences, including being found in contempt of court.

He later admitted the company’s structure relied on using new investor money to pay earlier participants.

Because Fuller did not respond to the case brought by the US Trustee, the court issued a default judgment. That decision keeps him personally responsible for the debts and allows creditors to continue pursuing repayment, even though he filed for bankruptcy.

US Trustee Kevin Epstein stated that the outcome reflects an effort to protect the bankruptcy process from misuse. Epstein said:

Fraudsters seeking to whitewash their schemes will not find sanctuary in bankruptcy.

Bitcoin Bear Case Says Price Is Headed Below $100,000, But Bulls Still Have A Chance, Here’s How https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-bear-case-says-price-is-headed-below-100000-but-bulls-still-have-a-chance-heres-how/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-bear-case-says-price-is-headed-below-100000-but-bulls-still-have-a-chance-heres-how/#respond Mon, 08 Sep 2025 20:10:20 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-bear-case-says-price-is-headed-below-100000-but-bulls-still-have-a-chance-heres-how/

Bitcoin’s price has spent the past week hovering within a tight band and bouncing between $108,000 and $112,000 without any clear direction yet. There have been multiple rejections at the $112,000 price level and technical analysis shows pressure around the 200-day moving averages on the four-hour chart.

Notably, a technical analysis shared by crypto analyst Daan Crypto shows Bitcoin is at risk of a breakdown below $100,000, but bulls still have a chance to stage a recovery rally in the weeks ahead.

Analyst Warns About Sweep Of Monthly Lows

In his latest post on the social media platform X, Daan Crypto Trades noted that Bitcoin is currently indecisive, and its price action is leaning toward a sweep of the monthly lows. This movement is based on the 4-hour candlestick timeframe chart, which shows the Bitcoin price was recently rejected at the 200MA/EMA last week.

The 4-hour candlestick chart below shows Bitcoin has been trading in a defined range since August 25, with equal lows forming a weak base around $107,000 and liquidity sitting just beneath. This makes a stop-hunt sweep a possible next step.

Such a move, the analyst explained, would likely open up a bearish case of panic across the market, which might eventually cause fears of Bitcoin collapsing under the $100,000 price level.

However, the analyst also identified the $103,000 to $105,000 price zone as the support level where buyers can step in. This area, according to him, would also be a logical entry point for swing long positions if the Bitcoin price indeed breaks down below $107,000.

Conditions For A Bullish Recovery

According to the analysis, Bitcoin bulls have a chance to prevent any breakdown below $100,000 by holding above $105,000 to $103,000. Despite laying out a bearish base case, Daan also described a roadmap for the bulls.

Related Reading

The first condition would be strength above $115,000, which would mark a break of August’s range low, which has turned into resistance in the first week of August. A break and close above $115,000 would invalidate any short-term bearish momentum

Alternatively, he pointed to a quick liquidity grab below the monthly lows at $107,000, followed by a reclaim of the $107,000 and $112,000 levels, as the most bullish scenario. According to the analyst, this second setup could pave the way for a sustained one-to-two-month uptrend rally through October and November.

For now, the analyst said he is on the sidelines except for short-term scalps. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $111,733, up 0.7% in the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin taps $111.3K as forecast says 10% dip ‘worst case scenario’ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-taps-111-3k-as-forecast-says-10-dip-worst-case-scenario/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-taps-111-3k-as-forecast-says-10-dip-worst-case-scenario/#respond Sun, 07 Sep 2025 12:59:36 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-taps-111-3k-as-forecast-says-10-dip-worst-case-scenario/

Key points:

  • Bitcoin sees a modest rebound into the weekly candle close, but traders see key resistance overhead.

  • BTC price action risks a much deeper drop if bulls fail to reclaim that resistance zone.

  • Fibonacci analysis hints that such a drop may not pass more than 10%.

Bitcoin (BTC) returned above $111,000 into Sunday’s weekly close as analysis saw “promising” recovery signs.

BTC price “logical” bounce zone near $100,000

Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed BTC/USD gaining around 1% on the day to hit local highs of $111,369.

The pair’s latest dip, which followed US macroeconomic data, saw bulls preserve $110,000 support.

“This is actually promising on $BTC,” crypto trader, analyst and entrepreneur Michaël van de Poppe responded on X.

“It makes a new higher low and holds the support at $110K. Would be great if we crack $112K and fire up the bull run.”

Market participants continued to hold diverging views over short-term BTC price action. Popular trader Cipher X suggested that $112,000 could spark new lows should bulls fail to reclaim it next.

“We either flip $113,000 and pump to new highs, or if we reject here we drop to $100,000,” fellow trader Crypto Tony added on the day, adopting a more categorical perspective based on the weekly chart.

Trader TurboBullCapital referenced the 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs) at $115,035 and $101,760, respectively, as important levels to watch going forward.

“Lose the $107k area & the downside target becomes the $101k level which also happens to coincide with the MA200,” part of an X post concluded.

“This is a logical area to expect a bounce.”

Bitcoin’s “worst case scenario” coincides with $100,000

As Cointelegraph reported, one theory on longer timeframes involves market makers on exchange order books.

Short sellers and bears, it suggests, could be the victims of manipulation prior to a giant short squeeze event taking the market to new all-time highs. This would echo price action in late 2024.

In the meantime, Fibonacci retracement levels imply a maximum drop of 10%, again based on historical behavior since the end of last year.

“$BTC usually bottoms at 0.382 Fibonacci level. This happened in Q3 2024, Q2 2025 and will probably happen again,” popular trader ZYN observed.

“For anyone wondering how low we can go, 0.382 Fibonacci level is currently around $100K. So the worst case scenario is a 10% drop before a 50% rally above $150,000.”

World Liberty Finance Blacklists TRON Wallet Over $11M WLFI Case https://earlybirdsinvest.com/world-liberty-finance-blacklists-tron-wallet-over-11m-wlfi-case/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/world-liberty-finance-blacklists-tron-wallet-over-11m-wlfi-case/#respond Fri, 05 Sep 2025 21:00:42 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/world-liberty-finance-blacklists-tron-wallet-over-11m-wlfi-case/

A high-stakes confrontation is unfolding between World Liberty Financial (WLF) and its largest investor, Justin Sun, after the project blacklisted a wallet containing billions of its WLFI tokens.

The move, which effectively froze an estimated $100 million in assets, follows intense market speculation that Sun was responsible for a significant sell-off, contributing to a dramatic price collapse for the token.

Blacklist Sparks Governance Crisis

On September 5, blockchain analytics account Spot on Chain revealed that WLF’s controlling address invoked the blacklist function on the WLFI contract, targeting wallet 0x5AB2…DA74. The address had bought three billion WLFI during the project’s initial coin offering (ICO), unlocked 600 million, and recently moved 54 million tokens, worth around $11 million, to fresh wallets.

By blacklisting the address, WLF froze the remaining tokens indefinitely. Commentators quickly pounced on the development. “WLFI just proved DeFi isn’t ‘decentralized’ at all … it can be blacklisted, frozen, shut down,” wrote analyst Shanaka Anslem Pereira, comparing the maneuver to IMF-style controls.

Justin Sun, who invested $75 million into WLF in 2024, hit back on X, blasting the freeze as unjust. “My tokens were unreasonably frozen,” he wrote, stressing that “tokens are sacred and inviolable—this should be the most basic value of any blockchain.”

Sun went further, warning that WLF’s actions “not only violate the legitimate rights of investors, but also risk damaging broader confidence in World Liberty Financials.”

Price Fallout and Market Outlook

At the time of this writing, WLFI was trading at $0.1815, down 1.6% on the day after dipping as much as 4.2% in the past hour. The token has collapsed nearly 40% from last week’s high of $0.3087 and is now down 45% from its September 1 peak of $0.3313.

Yesterday, selling pressure drove WLFI to a record low of $0.164 before it rebounded slightly. For now, trading remains frenzied, with more than $1.3 billion in daily turnover, while the project’s market cap stands near $4.9 billion, which still puts it within the global top 40.

The standoff between Sun and the WLF team is now the defining test for the project. If the blacklist remains, observers say it risks cementing perceptions that WLF’s governance is centralized and arbitrary.

However, even if it were to be reversed, the blacklist could already have harmed WLF’s credibility, which, a while back, saw the Trump family quietly trim its ownership from 60% to 40%. In either case, WLF’s promise of a “decentralized” financial system is facing its most significant challenge yet.

XRP Army Helped Sway SEC vs Ripple Case, Says Deaton https://earlybirdsinvest.com/xrp-army-helped-sway-sec-vs-ripple-case-says-deaton/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/xrp-army-helped-sway-sec-vs-ripple-case-says-deaton/#respond Wed, 03 Sep 2025 16:38:45 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/xrp-army-helped-sway-sec-vs-ripple-case-says-deaton/

TL;DR

  • Judge Torres cited XRP holder affidavits, the amicus brief, and Deaton’s oral argument in the final decision.
  • Ripple’s legal team recognized the XRP community’s support and organized legal and public campaigns.

Deaton Cites XRP Holder Input in Court Ruling

Attorney John E. Deaton has pointed to direct involvement from XRP holders as a factor in the SEC vs Ripple case. In a recent post, he stated,

“No credible person can argue that the XRP Army didn’t make a difference in the Ripple case.”

He referred to Judge Analisa Torres’s decision, which cited his amicus brief, XRP holder affidavits, and a prior oral argument in the LBRY case.

Deaton noted that while over 2,000 exhibits were submitted, the judge only referenced a small number, some of which included materials from XRP holders. He said that without these citations, the role of the community could have been debated, but added, “The proof is in the decision itself.”

Ripple Legal Team Acknowledges Community Efforts

Ripple’s Deputy General Counsel, Deborah McCrimmon, acknowledged the coordination behind the scenes, saying the case was influenced by a broad effort that included the XRP community. Deaton had mobilized more than 75,000 XRP holders to submit statements and affidavits in support of Ripple’s legal position.

Alongside legal efforts, the XRP community maintained public focus on the case, organizing campaigns and petitions aimed at regulators. The long-running lawsuit saw its conclusion move closer after both sides agreed to a $50 million settlement, with final approval recently confirmed by the Second Circuit.

Meanwhile, XRP’s price traded at $2.85, with a 3% gain in the last 24 hours and a 5% drop over the past week. Some in the community have raised concerns about slow growth in on-chain activity and total value locked (TVL). One user wrote,

“OK but now we need the big guns to lift the price up apparently.”

However, projects like Doppler and Flare aim to increase XRP’s real-world use. The focus now shifts to whether utility follows legal clarity.

Federal authorities are challenging the outcome of a sentencing decision involving two Estonian citizens who admitted to running a large-scale crypto mining scam.

The appeal, submitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, disputes both the judge’s final order and the process that led to it.

Estonians Sergei Potapenko and Ivan Turõgin had previously admitted to organizing a fraudulent crypto operation that raised over half a billion dollars. The scam sold fake mining contracts under the HashFlare brand between 2015 and 2019.

According to the investigation, the two displayed false profit data to users via online dashboards, despite not having the mining equipment they had advertised.

In February, both men pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to this activity. Prosecutors argued that they tricked around 440,000 individuals across the world and requested prison terms of 10 years for each of them.

However, on August 12, Judge Robert S. Lasnik issued “time served”, along with three years of supervised release and fines of $25,000 each.

The judge explained that the court had taken into account the possibility of transferring the sentence to Estonia, where both defendants would serve their time.

He noted that if the transfer request was denied, the two might end up with longer sentences and be held in immigration custody indefinitely after serving time in the US.

On August 22, Anton and James Peraire-Bueno asked a Manhattan court to stop prosecutors from using their Google search activity in an upcoming trial. Why? Read the full story.

Labor Day deals start early at Best Buy, with 50% OFF this top-rated Acer Chromebook and protective case bundle https://earlybirdsinvest.com/labor-day-deals-start-early-at-best-buy-with-50-off-this-top-rated-acer-chromebook-and-protective-case-bundle/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/labor-day-deals-start-early-at-best-buy-with-50-off-this-top-rated-acer-chromebook-and-protective-case-bundle/#respond Fri, 22 Aug 2025 16:20:27 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/labor-day-deals-start-early-at-best-buy-with-50-off-this-top-rated-acer-chromebook-and-protective-case-bundle/

Back to school laptop deals are still running, even as some have already started classes again. As part of Best Buy’s early Labor Day sale, the retailer has chopped $150 off the Acer Chromebook 315 laptop, and it’s offering a free carrying sleeve with purchase. The Chromebook 315 model features a 15.6-inch IPS display, 64GB of storage, and a microSD slot for those who need more. It also comes with a 720p front-facing camera, making it suitable for virtual meetings and classes, and other video call use cases.

However, if you’re in the market for a 2-in-1 tablet-laptop combo, we think the Acer Chromebook 714 Spin Plus is the best Chromebook available today, and in no small part due to its versatility. This might be a good pick if you need something with a touchscreen and stylus capabilities, though the 315 should be great for casual users who primarily use a keyboard.

✅Recommended if: you need a basic Chromebook, netbook, or other laptop for school, work or web-browsing that’s under $150; you want something small and lightweight with a laptop sleeve for optimal on-the-go use; you like laptops with screens around this size.

❌Skip this deal if: you’re looking for a performance machine for processing-intensive gaming, video, photo, or audio editing; you’d rather upgrade to the Acer Chromebook 315 Plus; you’re looking for the latest generation in laptop offerings.

Acer’s Chromebook 315 was released a while back now, but even its basic specs still hold up for most casual users—especially for just $150.

The Acer Chromebook 315 offers a larger IPS screen than the 311 or 314 models at 15.6 inches. Performance on this particular model is backed by an Intel Celeron N4500 and 4GB of RAM, so it’s nothing too special but will get the job done for most basic-level tasks, web browsing, and streaming.

Still, like many of Chromebook’s netbook-style laptops, the 315 includes the light and quick Chrome OS and expandable storage, which makes it worthwhile for most. Acer also says users can get up to 10 hours of battery life per charge, and it boasts a thin, lightweight design that makes it highly portable.

As for connectivity, the laptop includes two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB-C ports, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm port for headphones, headsets, and microphones.

These are the Pixel 10 cases I’d buy as a phone case reviewer https://earlybirdsinvest.com/these-are-the-pixel-10-cases-id-buy-as-a-phone-case-reviewer/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/these-are-the-pixel-10-cases-id-buy-as-a-phone-case-reviewer/#respond Fri, 22 Aug 2025 10:58:43 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/these-are-the-pixel-10-cases-id-buy-as-a-phone-case-reviewer/

The Google Pixel 10 family is finally here, and with it a fancy new totally-not-MagSafe feature called Pixelsnap and a minor design refresh. If you’re planning to upgrade, the bad news is that Pixel 9 cases are not compatible, so you’ll need to pick up a new one. The good news is that there are tons of great cases to choose from, especially if you want to take advantage of Pixelsnap.

I’ve been reviewing cases for years here at Android Authority, and although the cases are still on their way for testing (I’ll update this post as soon as I get my hands on them), I already have a few recommendations for any of you who want to buy one alongside your pre-order and forget about it until the phone ships next week.

Before you buy, note that Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro cases are the same size, but Google Pixel 10 Pro XL cases are significantly larger. Make sure you pick the right option before pulling the trigger.

Spigen Liquid Air

Spigen Liquid Air Pixel 10 case

The Spigen Liquid Air has been one of my favorite basic cases for years. It’s nothing crazy, just a flexible TPU case with a subtle texture, but for most people, I think that will be enough. This year Spigen added MagFit magnets to its entire lineup of Pixel 10 cases, so you can still take advantage of Pixelsnap accessories.

The only downside is a lack of color. It only comes in black, gray, and dark green, although I was surprised how much I liked the gray model when it launched last year. This is also one of the cheapest cases available, so you can always start with this one and pick up something more elaborate in a few months when more cases are available.

For more texture, check out the Parallax. It’s another TPU case with a 3D texture on the back, but only the black colorway is available at launch. Personally, I’d recommend waiting for some of the more interesting options to come out before picking it up.

Mous Limitless

Mous Limitless Pixel 10 case

The Mous Limitless is the case I’ve been using on my Pixel 9 for the past year, and I still love it. It’s not particularly thin, but the addition of premium materials on the back really elevates the design. There are some grip strips on the sides, but it doesn’t have an aggressive texture to trigger my tactile ick sense.

This case has had magnets for years, so it’s no surprise that the trend continues now that Pixelsnap is a thing. They are expensive, though, so make sure you get one that you won’t get tired of in a few months.

Thinborne

Google Pixel 10 Pro Case Leak Thinborne (8 of 8)

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

Pixel 10 Pro case

When it comes to super-thin cases, the Thinborne is one of your best options. It’s ultra thin, and it would feel like you’re not using a case at all if it weren’t for the gentle slope around the camera bump and the premium Aramid fiber texture. Despite how thin it is, it still has an integrated magnet array for Pixelsnap or MagSafe accessories.

We actually got our hands on this case way back in June, before the Pixel 10 was revealed. It impressed us then and continues to impress us now, so it’s worth buying if you can stretch your budget. For a similar case with more color options, also check out the Mous Super Thin.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid

Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pixel 10 case

I’ve never been a big fan of clear cases, but if I had to recommend one, it would be the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. It’s a clear step up from the cheap TPU cases you see everywhere on the market, and it’s worth spending a few extra bucks. It’s more protective, has Pixelsnap-compatible magnets, and is still super affordable.

There’s a fully clear option and a frosted black option at launch, with a third Neo One option coming at a later date. If you just want something cheap and cheerful that doesn’t completely hide your fancy new Pixel 10 colorway, this is a safe choice.

dbrand Grip case

dbrand Grip Pixel 10 case

Switching to more rugged options, the dbrand Grip is a beefy case with a few unique selling points. For starters, it really lives up to its name. It’s one of the grippiest cases I’ve ever held, and not always in a good way. Sure, it’s almost impossible to slip from your fingers, but the microdot texture all around the case can also be abrasive for anyone with delicate baby hands (that’s me).

The other great thing about this case is that you can customize it to your liking with one of dozens of vinyl skins for the back. These match the designs available on dbrand’s phone skins, and some of them are very cool. You can also swap them out to keep things fresh, although they’re not exactly cheap.

Otterbox Defender Series Pro XT with Pixelsnap

Otterbox Defender Pro Series XL Pixel 10 case

Otterbox needs no introduction, nor does its ultra-rugged Defender Series Pro case. It’s the most protective case I’ve ever used, with a two-part design that’s sure to keep your Pixel 10 safe. This year Otterbox added Pixelsnap magnets to its entire case lineup, so despite the bulk you can still get full Qi2 charging speeds with compatible wireless chargers.

Needless to say, this case is made to take a beating. It has enormous bumpers, a thick bezel around the screen, and port covers. The colors aren’t particularly inspiring, but you probably aren’t buying this case for the looks. It is expensive though, so make sure you can put up with the extra weight before splashing the cash.

Spigen Tough Armor

Spigen Tough Armor Pixel 10 case

For more affordable protection, I recommend the Spigen Tough Armor Pixel 10 case. It’s still pretty bulky, but it keeps things more streamlined than the Otterbox case above. The rubbery sides also feel great in hand, making this a solid overall choice.

Like all other Spigen Pixel 10 cases, this one also has an integrated magnet array. There’s also a kickstand on the back, although your mileage may vary when it comes to the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Larger devices have struggled with smaller kickstands on previous designs, so you may want to use a beefier Pixelsnap stand instead.

Bitcoin’s price rally has hit turbulence over the past 48 hours, and this has opened the door for bearish voices to resurface. After reaching a fresh high of $124,128 just three days ago, the leading cryptocurrency has since declined by about 4.8%, sliding back to the $117,000 to $118,000 price zone at the time of writing. This pullback has opened up a possibility that the much-anticipated macro top may already be in, and further downside may be possible if there is a lack of bullish momentum.

Bitcoin showed signs of building on in early August after bouncing off a low around $112,000. However, after its latest high at $124,128, sellers quickly stepped in, pulling the price down. The decline has been accompanied by fading short-term momentum. Although it might be too early to conclude, relative strength index (RSI) readings are starting to point to a bearish divergence on the 4-hour candlestick timeframe chart.

Taking to the social media platform X, crypto analyst CasiTrades outlined what they believe could be the start of a larger ABC corrective structure for Bitcoin. According to the projection, Bitcoin may be entering Wave A, which consists of a five-wave corrective structure that could send the price to as low as $77,000 at the macro 0.382 Fibonacci retracement.

The roadmap of this price crash envisions an initial Wave 1 drop to $112,000, a brief Wave 2 recovery back to $120,000, and then another Wave 3 decline into the $89,000 range. After this, the next step is a Wave 4 retest break of $100,000 before reversing into Wave 5, which brings the ultimate Wave A bottom at $77,000.

The accompanying chart posted by the analyst shows the wave counts with subwave precision. Interestingly, the analyst also pointed out that the ultimate macro target for the end of this correction is at $60,000, right at the golden 0.618 Fibonacci retracement. This is at the macro level and can only come to fruition if the ABC corrective waves play out to completion.

A Bearish Tone Amidst Bullish Predictions

This analysis introduces a sobering counterpoint at a time when many forecasts continue to paint Bitcoin as being on track for $150,000 and beyond. Even though strong institutional inflows and technical milestones, such as the realized price flipping above the 200-day moving average are bullish indicators, the bearish scenario from CasiTrades could still be valid.

If Bitcoin fails to reclaim bullish momentum, the current correction could change into something deeper, making the $124,000 high not just a pause but the macro top of this cycle.

Although many cryptocurrencies have largely followed Bitcoin’s movements this cycle, CasiTrade’s analysis isn’t a bearish case for the entire crypto market. According to the analyst, if this bearish case plays out, it could cause the long-discussed capital rotation out of Bitcoin and into large-cap altcoins, some of which may surge to new all-time price highs even as Bitcoin retraces. At the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at $118,203.

Authorities in Texas have taken control of more than $2.8 million in cryptocurrency, along with $70,000 in cash and a luxury car, in a case linked to ransomware attacks.

According to an August 14 press release, the seizures came after six federal warrants were made public in courts in Virginia, California, and Texas.

The cryptocurrency was taken from a wallet said to be controlled by Ianis Aleksandrovich Antropenko. He is facing charges in Texas for conspiring to commit computer fraud, committing computer fraud, and conspiring to launder money.

Prosecutors said Antropenko used a program called Zeppelin ransomware to target people, companies, and organizations in several countries, including the United States.

According to the charges, he and others would lock victims’ files and take their data. They would demand payment to restore access, keep the stolen information private, or delete it.

Court documents stated that the seized cryptocurrency came from ransomware payments or was used to hide the source of those payments.

One method was ChipMixer, a service used to make cryptocurrency transactions harder to trace. ChipMixer was shut down in 2023 during an international law enforcement operation.

Prosecutors also said Antropenko converted cryptocurrency into cash and made deposits in smaller amounts to avoid detection.

The case also led to the seizure of physical cash and a luxury vehicle, which investigators say were part of the proceeds from the ransomware scheme.
