Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao has urged national governments to explore the use of artificial intelligence tools, particularly large language models (LLMs), to simplify their legal systems.

In a July 10 post on X, Zhao argued that AI could play a key role in making legal codes more understandable and accessible to everyday citizens.

According to him, many countries have accumulated layers of complex, conflicting laws over time that legal professionals often shape through patchwork amendments.

Due to this, the current legal systems have become “gigantic, patched, added, and often intentionally made complex.”

Zhao pointed out that this has made it nearly impossible for non-lawyers to fully comprehend their rights and obligations.

However, he believes that this could change with the advent of LLMs.

Large language models are advanced AI systems like OpenAI’s ChatGPT that could be trained on extensive legal text. This would allow these tools to read, analyze, and rewrite dense legal documents into simplified formats.

As a result, these AIs could detect inconsistencies, streamline clauses, and interpret technical language, which could help make the law more accessible to everyday users.

AI won’t replace lawyers

Despite his enthusiasm, Zhao clarified that AI should not be seen as a substitute for human lawyers.

Instead, he positioned these technologies as assistants that could handle routine tasks while freeing up legal professionals to focus on more complex, high-stakes work.

According to him:

“There could be a 1000 companies building spaceships vs only a couple now. We can test more drugs to cure cancer. Flying cars… All of them need tremendous amounts of legal work.”

Meanwhile, market observers cautioned that while LLMs offer tremendous utility, they have flaws.

Current iterations still face challenges such as hallucinations or situations when the AI generates incorrect or misleading information. They argued that this reinforces the continued need for legal professionals who can interpret, verify, and contextualize the law.

Binance’s Changpeng Zhao rebuffs WSJ ‘fixer’ role assertion for Trump-affiliated World Liberty Financial https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binances-changpeng-zhao-rebuffs-wsj-fixer-role-assertion-for-trump-affiliated-world-liberty-financial/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binances-changpeng-zhao-rebuffs-wsj-fixer-role-assertion-for-trump-affiliated-world-liberty-financial/#respond Fri, 23 May 2025 14:52:56 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binances-changpeng-zhao-rebuffs-wsj-fixer-role-assertion-for-trump-affiliated-world-liberty-financial/

Changpeng Zhao, founder and former CEO of Binance, has pushed back against a recent Wall Street Journal (WSJ) article that claims he is acting as a “fixer” for World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a DeFi venture linked to the Donald Trump family.

The WSJ report alleged that Zhao facilitated international introductions for WLFI, including engagements in countries like Pakistan.

However, in a May 23 post on X, Zhao stated that the article was misleading and accused the publication of intentionally distorting facts to fit a narrative.

‘Fixer’ allegations

The former Binance executive addressed the report’s suggestion that he arranged introductions between Bilal Bin Saqib, head of the Pakistan Crypto Council, and WLFI.

The article indicated that this connection led to Saqib’s appointment as an advisor to the group and the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistani government.

However, Zhao rejected the alleged connections, saying:

“I am not a fixer for anyone. I did NOT ‘connect Mr. Saqib with the WLF team.’ They had known each other way back, whereas I only met with Mr. Saqib for the first time in Pakistan. I did NOT make any ‘introductions for World Liberty’s foreign travels.’”

The former Binance CEO also dismissed claims that he had a role in organizing WLFI’s foreign visits, adding that the report was built on false premises. He noted:

“If you get a couple of factual errors wrong, it’s possible to fix. When you make up a story with negative intentions to begin with, there is no way to fix the ‘inaccuracies.’ It’s the entire story.”

Binance’s Zhao vs WSJ

This marks the latest dispute between Zhao and WSJ over what he claims are misleading reports about him.

In April, Zhao dismissed claims that he had agreed to cooperate against Justin Sun as part of a plea deal with US authorities. He also denied prior reports suggesting that President Trump had sought an investment in Binance.

Considering this, the Binance founder likened WSJ’s reporting approach to Cunningham’s Law, which says that the best way to get the correct answer is to post the wrong one.

But Zhao lampooned the traditional media house, saying:

“WSJ instead of doing journalism, has pretty much resorted to Cunningham’s Law, with negative intentions…This is NOT how journalism should work.”

He also concluded that the WSJ stories are being used by anti-crypto interests to undermine the industry, its global leaders, and pro-crypto movements in the US.

He said:

“WSJ is just the mouthpiece. There are forces in the US that want to hinder efforts in making the US the capital of crypto.”

Standard Chartered has initiated formal coverage of Binance’s exchange token, BNB, and set out one of the industry’s most detailed long-term trajectories for the asset. In a research note shared with The Block, Geoffrey Kendrick, the bank’s global head of digital-asset research, argues that the token price could accelerate from roughly $600 today to $1,275 by 2025 and $2,775 by 2028, before “plateauing” through 2029.

BNB Could Spike By 360%

The path implies a gain of more than 360% from current levels and, crucially, situates the token in what Kendrick calls “a benchmark-like role” inside the wider crypto capital structure. “BNB has traded almost exactly in line with an unweighted basket of Bitcoin and Ethereum since May 2021 in terms of both returns and volatility,” Kendrick wrote. “We expect this relationship to continue to hold, driving the price from around $600 currently to $2,775 by end-2028.”

Related Reading

Standard Chartered’s broader outlook is unabashedly bullish on the majors: Bitcoin is projected to reach $200,000 in 2025 and $500,000 in 2028, while Ethereum is pencilled in at $4,000 and $7,500 over the same horizons. When those forecasts are translated into cross-asset ratios, they reveal subtle shifts in market share.

The BTC-BNB ratio—how many BNB one Bitcoin can buy—is expected to tick up from 157 in 2025 to 180 by 2027, then hold steady, implying that Bitcoin’s dollar appreciation is likely to outrun BNB’s. By contrast, the ETH-BNB ratio is seen slipping from 3.14 in 2025 to 2.70 in 2027, signalling that Ethereum may outperform BNB, but more gently than Bitcoin will.

Kendrick acknowledges that BNB “may underperform Bitcoin and Ether both in real terms and as measured by market cap in circulation,” yet he contends that its deflationary tokenomics and deep linkage to the world’s largest centralized exchange “support its long-term value.”

BNB price prediction
Price prediction | Source: The Block

The research note scrutinises BNB Chain’s architecture. Its “proof-of-staked authority” model rotates just 45 validators every 24 hours—a sharp contrast to Ethereum’s million-plus validator set. Kendrick describes BNB Chain as “highly centralised relative to other chains,” adding that its developer activity has “stagnated” since the 2021 DeFi surge and now trails networks such as Avalanche and Ethereum.

Related Reading

Even so, forthcoming technical milestones are expected to expand the ecosystem’s resilience. Kendrick cites the recently completed Pascal hard fork and the looming Maxwell upgrade, due in June, as examples of “incremental but meaningful” incentives for developers.

On the demand side, the token’s fortunes remain tethered to Binance’s trading engine. Holders receive tiered fee discounts calculated on their token balance and 30-day volume—a mechanically enforced use-case that has so far “helped the BNB Chain retain activity even as competition from other ecosystems like Solana grows,” Kendrick notes. PancakeSwap, the dominant decentralised exchange on BNB Chain, amplifies that liquidity loop.

Meanwhile, regular token burns, coupled with the fixed-limit supply, underpin a structural deflation that Standard Chartered says justifies the premium BNB commands on its market-cap-to-GDP valuation screen—currently “rich” by the bank’s preferred metric.

At press time, BNB traded at $605.

ZachXBT reveals $7M of the OG holder’s stolen Bitcoin was frozen with Binance’s help https://earlybirdsinvest.com/zachxbt-reveals-7m-of-the-og-holders-stolen-bitcoin-was-frozen-with-binances-help/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/zachxbt-reveals-7m-of-the-og-holders-stolen-bitcoin-was-frozen-with-binances-help/#respond Sat, 03 May 2025 00:42:33 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/zachxbt-reveals-7m-of-the-og-holders-stolen-bitcoin-was-frozen-with-binances-help/

Blockchain analyst ZachXBT revealed that roughly $7 million of the $330 million in Bitcoin (BTC) stolen from a longtime US crypto holder has been frozen with the help of Binance.

The update comes days after ZachXBT first reported a suspicious transfer of 3,520 BTC, worth about $330 million at the time, from a single wallet.

Two suspects

On April 30, the investigator revealed that the victim is an elderly American who fell prey to a social engineering attack. The Bitcoin was quickly moved across at least six exchanges and laundered into Monero (XMR).

ZachXBT said two suspects have been identified: a Somalian national known as “Nina” or “Mo,” who allegedly runs a call scam operation in Camden, UK, and an accomplice referred to as “W0rk.”

Both individuals deleted their social media accounts after being named.

The theft relied on social engineering tactics, a form of deception that typically involves phishing or impersonation to gain access to sensitive credentials.

According to ZachXBT, the attackers operated a coordinated scheme involving fake websites and voice calls to manipulate the victim into revealing private keys or login credentials.

Binance and crypto sleuths freeze stolen funds

ZachXBT credited Binance’s security team, the pseudonymous investigator tanuki42, and Cryptoforensic Investigators with helping freeze about $7 million of the stolen funds.

Binance has not issued a formal public comment, but the platform has a history of collaborating with law enforcement and onchain analysts to intercept illicit activity.

This marks a rare instance of rapid recovery following a large-scale crypto theft. The remaining funds are believed to be more difficult to trace, having been funneled into Monero, a coin designed to obscure wallet balances and transaction history.

The $330 million theft now ranks among the largest single-wallet heists in crypto history. It has also reignited concerns about the vulnerability of early adopters who may not have updated security practices or cold storage protections.

In previous reporting, ZachXBT called the theft “deeply upsetting,” especially considering the victim’s age and status as an early supporter of the Bitcoin network. Investigations are ongoing as the crypto community and private investigators attempt to trace any further movement of the funds.

Binance’s CZ Pledges to Donate 500 BNB Each to Thailand and Myanmar After Earthquake https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binances-cz-pledges-to-donate-500-bnb-each-to-thailand-and-myanmar-after-earthquake/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binances-cz-pledges-to-donate-500-bnb-each-to-thailand-and-myanmar-after-earthquake/#respond Sat, 29 Mar 2025 12:49:28 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binances-cz-pledges-to-donate-500-bnb-each-to-thailand-and-myanmar-after-earthquake/ Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has pledged to donate 500 BNB—valued at approximately $605 —to both Thailand and Myanmar in response to the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the region on March 28.

The quake caused widespread flooding and extensive damage to infrastructure, particularly in Myanmar, where the epicenter was located roughly 10 miles from Mandalay.

In a post on X, Zhao expressed concern for those affected and said the donations would be distributed through Binance and Binance Thailand.

CZ Says Binance Will Distribute Earthquake Relief Funds If No Trusted On-Chain Platform Found

He noted that if a reliable third-party on-chain donation platform is not identified, Binance will directly handle the distribution of the disaster relief funds.

According to The Guardian, the earthquake has already claimed at least 144 lives, with over 700 others injured.

Rescue teams in both countries are working to recover those still trapped beneath the rubble, and the death toll is expected to rise.

Myanmar’s military leader, Min Aung Hlaing, has publicly appealed for international assistance to aid in the relief efforts.

The use of cryptocurrency in humanitarian aid has gained traction due to its speed, transparency, and ability to bypass traditional banking infrastructure.

In previous disasters, such as the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and the Maui wildfires, crypto-based platforms like The Giving Block helped raise millions of dollars for relief.

The Giving Block has also launched an emergency fundraiser this year for victims of the California wildfires, raising over $1 million to date.

CZ’s Charity Backfires (in a Good Way)

Earlier this month, CZ pledged 150 BNB (around $100,000) to help victims of the now-defunct LIBRA meme coin—only to end up receiving more crypto than he gave.

Zhao’s donation came in response to a campaign started by a college student named EnHeng, who raised $50,000 to support over 40,000 investors impacted by LIBRA’s collapse.

The Solana-based token, promoted by Argentina’s President Javier Milei, briefly soared to a $4 billion market cap before crashing by 91%, wiping out billions in investor funds.

After Zhao publicly shared his donation wallet, crypto contributions poured in, surpassing his initial donation.

“When you give money away, you get more back,” CZ quipped on X.

However, he made it clear he would not keep any of the additional funds, promising to redirect them to other meme coin victims, including those scammed by TST and Broccoli—named after his dog.

Zhao emphasized his actions should not be seen as an endorsement of any meme coins.

Meanwhile, President Milei is under investigation in Argentina for his role in promoting LIBRA, which is now at the center of a growing legal scandal involving fraud, insider trading, and investor deception.

When Changpen Zhao seeks presidential pardon, the Trump family consults for Binance’s interests https://earlybirdsinvest.com/when-changpen-zhao-seeks-presidential-pardon-the-trump-family-consults-for-binances-interests/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/when-changpen-zhao-seeks-presidential-pardon-the-trump-family-consults-for-binances-interests/#respond Fri, 14 Mar 2025 06:38:43 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/when-changpen-zhao-seeks-presidential-pardon-the-trump-family-consults-for-binances-interests/ Wall Street Journal (WSJ) It has been reported Representatives from President Donald Trump’s family discussed with Vinance about the possibility of winning shares in the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

On March 13, 2025, WSJ said that Binance reached out to Trump’s family representatives in 2024 and offered a business agreement as part of a broader strategy to reopen Binance. The move also comes as Binance Ex-Ceo Changpeng Zhao is searching for a presidential pardon.

Criticizing the report, Zhao said, “felons should not worry about pardoning, especially the only person in US history to be sentenced to prison on a single BSA charge.”

The WSJ report also suggests that Trump could win stakes in Vinanence or use his crypto venture, World Liberty Financial (WLFI).

Trump and Zhao criticize TSJ

In the case of Binance, this potential partnership represents an important opportunity to re-enter the US market after facing important regulatory challenges.

Zhao, who served in a prison for four months in the US after pleading guilty to violating anti-money laundering requirements, is pushing the Trump administration to pardon him. In the past, the company’s US division has plummeted from 27% to over 1% after regulatory measures.

Steve Witkoff, a longtime Trump friend who serves as a special envoy in the Middle East, has been involved in the negotiations.

Meanwhile, Trump has criticized the WSJ. “The Globalist Wall Street Journal doesn’t know what they’re doing or what they’re saying. They’re owned by the polluted thinking of the European Union, formed for the primary purpose of “smashing down” the United States,” Trump writes of the society of truth.
