Popular NFT collection Doodles have teased a collaboration with the Twix chocolate bar, with the confectionary brand shown to be following Doodles on TikTok.

Shared to X on July 7, many in the community expressed their excitement and desire to learn further information – though Doodles have kept quiet on the matter since sharing the post.

Should a collaboration announcement be imminent, Twix would become the latest of many household names that have worked with the Doodles brand – including the likes of Adidas, Crocs, McDonalds and many more.

What is Doodles?

Doodles is a 10,000-piece NFT collection that debuted on Ethereum in October 2021.

Releasing towards the height of the NFT boom, Doodles has become one of the most notorious NFT collections in the world. In June 2022, Pharrell Williams became their Chief Brand Officer, whilst January 2023 saw Doodles acquire award-winning animation studio Golden Wolf, with their industry-leading talent helping to push Doodles further.

Many household names have collaboration with Doodles, including Crocs, Casio G-SHOCK, Adidas, AriZona and many, many more. 2024 saw Doodles expand further with the launch of Doodles Records, the release of the animated film Dullsville and the Doodleverse, and a partnership with McDonalds which saw branded McCafe cups arrive for the holiday season.

2025 began with founder Burnt Toast becoming Doodles CEO in January 2025. This was followed by the reveal of DreamNet in March 2025, and the uch-anticipated launch of the $DOOD token in May 2025. Since December 2024, the Doodles floor price has dived from 4 ETH to below 1 ETH, with the $DOOD token falling from a $65 million USD market cap on debut to just $20 million USD.

How might Doodles and Twix work together?

As of writing, no further information has been shared by either the Doodles or Twix teams – so night now, the only evidence of an incoming collaboration is that Twix are following Doodles on TikTok.

That might seem inconsequential, but Twix only follows two accounts – Doodles and Snickers – and teasers such as these are commonly seen before a collaboration is announced. In a dash of irony, Doodles only follow 10 accounts on TikTok, and as of writing, Twix is not one of them – though that may change in future!

High-profile brands that have partnered with Doodles in the past typically release limited-edition versions of their products – such as a capsule merch collection, branded packaging or more. Twix have collaborated with the likes of Adidas, Fruity Pebbles, Krispy Kreme and many others in recent years – though what they could do with Doodles remains to be seen.

Bitcoin holder unlocks $10 million from rare Casascius bar bought for $500 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-holder-unlocks-10-million-from-rare-casascius-bar-bought-for-500/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-holder-unlocks-10-million-from-rare-casascius-bar-bought-for-500/#respond Wed, 02 Jul 2025 01:52:10 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-holder-unlocks-10-million-from-rare-casascius-bar-bought-for-500/

A long-time Bitcoin holder has finally cracked open one of the rarest physical Bitcoin collectibles in existence—a Casascius bar loaded with 100 BTC.

The collector, who goes by the name John Galt on the Bitcoin Talk forum, originally bought the bar in 2012 for just $500. 13 years later, he redeemed it when the top crypto crossed the $100,000 mark, unlocking a fortune now worth over $10 million.

In effect, he saw a return of nearly 2,000,000% on his modest 2012 investment.

According to Galt, the decision to redeem wasn’t easy, as he had struggled considerably with the pressure of holding a single object worth millions.

He also highlighted his past struggle to sell the physical coin and his reluctance to settle for less than Bitcoin’s digital value.

He wrote:

“I didn’t want to redeem it, though. To me, a physical Bitcoin that hasn’t been redeemed feels like it’s worth more than just the money. I did try to sell it a few times, but it’s hard selling something that valuable, and you really can’t trust just anyone. I even looked into auctions, but I’d be getting less than what the Bitcoin itself was worth.”

The legacy of Casascius Physical Bitcoins

Casascius physical bitcoins, first minted in 2011 by Mike Caldwell, are among the most iconic collectibles in crypto history.

The bars and coins, embedded with real BTC, came in denominations from 0.1 to 1,000 BTC. Over time, they became coveted artifacts for collectors and early adopters alike.

According to the website:

“Each Casascius Bitcoin is a collectible coin backed by real Bitcoins embedded inside. Each piece has its own Bitcoin address and a redeemable “private key” on the inside, underneath the hologram.”

However, production halted in 2013 after the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) classified Caldwell’s operation as a money transmission service.

Despite that, the coin’s value has continued to rise in monetary and historical value. Notably, physical coins maintain collector value and often sell on secondary markets like eBay for as much as $20,000.

To date, more than 10,000 Casascius coins have been redeemed, with over 18,000 still active or unclaimed, according to casasciustracker.com.

Kraken completes the latest spare proof and raises the bar for transparency in the crypto platform https://earlybirdsinvest.com/kraken-completes-the-latest-spare-proof-and-raises-the-bar-for-transparency-in-the-crypto-platform/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/kraken-completes-the-latest-spare-proof-and-raises-the-bar-for-transparency-in-the-crypto-platform/#respond Wed, 07 May 2025 19:01:24 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/kraken-completes-the-latest-spare-proof-and-raises-the-bar-for-transparency-in-the-crypto-platform/

We are proud to reaffirm our industry’s leadership in transparency with our latest Proof of Readiness (POR), completed as of March 31, 2025, including client holdings for BTC, ETH, SOL, USDC, USDT, XRP, and first time ADA. This rigorous verification process Make sure you have enough assets to fully back up your client’s balance. We don’t just ask you to trust us – we ask you to encrypt our custody of your encryption.

If you’re not used to POR, what is proof of a reserve? A guide blog post for beginners.

Our latest POR Bitcoin Reserve Results: 114.9% coverage

With the latest POR, we have confirmed that we are holding 192,091.25 BTC In our wallet, customers balance by total 167,188.68 BTC. This allows Reserve ratio of 114.9%meaning it holds nearly 15% Bitcoin than it owe it to users.

POR doesn’t just include spot holdings. It also includes margin positions, futures balances and even betting assets. This overall approach ensures that all kinds of customer exposures are considered. There are also other ways our POR methods continue to set industry standards.

What is POR?

POR is a cryptographic process that allows you to publicly demonstrate that cryptocurrency exchanges hold full user assets. Kraken uses a Markle Tree – Encrypted data structures that compile all user balances into a single root hash – Allow users to ensure that a specific balance is included without compromising personal privacy. The third party will confirm that the exchange’s on-chine holdings are at the total client balance or equal or greater than the same. This helps us to make sure we are not working with fractional reserves.

Not all poles are created equally

Many exchanges now offer what they call POR in one way or another, but our approach stands out in several important ways.

  • Includes full responsibility
Not only does it showcase assets, it also discloses client liabilities. Many platforms omit this important half of the equation, which can give a misleading impression of solvency.
  • User-Level Verification Tool
Users can independently verify that their balance is included in the POR process via Merkle Tree Proofs. This additional transparency builds trust and accountability.
  • Consistent and continuous transparency
POR is not treated as a one-time PR exercise. After pioneering the process in 2014, we do it regularly to ensure consistent visibility into how users manage their platform’s funds.

Because “taking our words” is not enough

After some notable crypto exchange breakdowns, FTX-clients in particular need to demand transparency and accountability. POR provides a clear and verifiable way to prove that client assets are secure and fully described.

Our high reserve ratios and user-verified methodology provide a direct response to this need. It’s not just that funds are safe. Almost every exchange that has failed so far promises that clients’ funds are safe. It’s about proving it: encryption, independent, periodically.

More evidence, more frequently: Move to quarterly pocadence

Going forward, we are committed to releasing POR quarters along with previous financial results to provide even more frequent transparency. Additionally, we are working to expand the scope of our future poles to include a wider range of supported assets, further strengthening our commitment to accountability across the platform.

Since 2014, we have been the leader in setting and procuring POR standards for crypto holders seeking a reliable exchange of future prospects.

Hands-on: Android’s Bubble Bar makes multitasking way better on phones https://earlybirdsinvest.com/hands-on-androids-bubble-bar-makes-multitasking-way-better-on-phones/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/hands-on-androids-bubble-bar-makes-multitasking-way-better-on-phones/#respond Thu, 24 Apr 2025 16:07:56 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/hands-on-androids-bubble-bar-makes-multitasking-way-better-on-phones/
Android bubble bar on phones hero image

Mishaal Rahman / Android Authority

TL;DR

  • Google is working to improve Android phone multitasking by enabling any app to open in a bubble and making them accessible from a new bubble bar.
  • The bubble bar, combined with the “bubble anything” feature, would allow users to easily open and switch between more than two apps, unlike the current split-screen mode.
  • Google is also developing different categories of bubbles and addressing lifecycle issues with apps in bubbles, suggesting continued development of this enhanced multitasking feature.

Multitasking on most Android phones can be challenging due to their limited screen sizes. However, manufacturers address this by offering a variety of multi-window features. For example, most Android devices have a split-screen mode that allows users to place two apps side-by-side, and a bubble feature that opens certain apps in floating windows. While both are useful for switching between two apps, their utility diminishes with three or more apps. To improve multitasking on Android phones, Google is working to enable any app to open in a bubble and to make those apps accessible from a new bubble bar.

You’re reading an Authority Insights story. Discover Authority Insights for more exclusive reports, app teardowns, leaks, and in-depth tech coverage you won’t find anywhere else.

Android 11 introduced the bubble feature to provide messaging apps a standardized way to open conversations in floating chat head windows, a feature popularized by Facebook Messenger. Since its introduction, however, only a few top messaging apps use the bubbles API. Theoretically, most Android apps should function well within a bubble, as it simply acts as a container for the app’s activity. Currently, though, the feature doesn’t allow this.

Last year, we found evidence that Google was developing a “bubble anything” feature to allow any app to be placed in a floating bubble. This feature’s utility is clear: users could place one or more apps in bubbles while using another app and then simply tap a bubble to expand it and access its content.

In our initial report, we noted that the upcoming bubble anything feature would be more beneficial on Android tablets, not only because of their larger screens but also because they can use Android’s new bubble bar feature, which anchors bubbles to the bottom right corner of the screen. The bubble bar, combined with the bubble anything feature, would provide a multitasking experience similar to the new desktop windowing mode on tablets.

It has been over six months since I first reported on the bubble anything feature, and there’s still no sign of its launch in Android 16. Similarly, it has been 14 months since my report on the bubble bar, which also has not yet appeared. I was starting to wonder if Google had abandoned these features, but I’m pleased to report that it hasn’t. While digging through Android 16 Beta 4, I discovered that Google is working to bring the bubble bar to phones, a significant development as it’s a major multitasking improvement over the current two-app split-screen mode.

Here’s a short video demonstrating the capabilities of the bubble bar combined with the bubble anything feature on phones:

As the video shows, I can easily open and switch between more than two apps on a smartphone, something that isn’t as simple with split-screen mode. At one point in the video, I have Google Chrome and People — a demo messaging app — open on top of Google Keep, which is three apps open simultaneously. I could have kept going in the video and launched more apps in bubbles, but things got a bit buggy after I opened certain apps like Google Calendar. The expanded bubble bar only shows the five most recently opened bubbles anyways, though the bubble overflow menu does list other, previously opened bubbles.

Since tablets already have desktop windowing mode, this capability isn’t as crucial for them. Phones, on the other hand, lack sufficient screen space for desktop windowing. If Google releases this feature in a future Android version, it will significantly enhance the current multitasking capabilities of phones.

In addition to bringing the bubble bar to mobile devices, I also found evidence that Google is developing different categories of bubbles: chat, note, app, or shortcut. These categories will determine whether an app badge is displayed. Though a minor change, this indicates Google’s continued work on the feature. Furthermore, I found that Google is still addressing lifecycle issues with apps in bubbles. Once these issues are resolved, I expect it to release this enhanced bubble-based multitasking feature.
