How natural does the voice assistant on the S25 sound compared to Google Assistant?

Best answer: Both Bixby and Gemini let you choose from a selection of voices, but Samsung’s virtual assistant doesn’t sound as natural as Gemini. You can, however, create a custom voice for Bixby using your own voice, but it doesn’t sound as good as the preloaded voices for Gemini.

Does the voice assistant on the Galaxy S25 sound natural compared to Gemini?

It became clear with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series that Samsung is putting more of its focus on Gemini and less on Bixby. As a result, Gemini was the default voice assistant on the Galaxy S25, which users could activate by pressing and holding the power button. It’s not surprising that Samsung has put Bixby on the back burner.

One of the reasons why Bixby continues to feel behind is that the voice assistant constantly reminds you that you’re talking to AI. That’s because it doesn’t sound as natural as Google Assistant or Gemini. While you can choose between several voices, they all sound robotic, and conversations don’t flow as naturally.

On the other hand, Gemini also has multiple voices to choose from, and they all sound very realistic, as if you’re talking to an actual person. This makes it easier to have naturally flowing conversations without feeling like you’re talking to a computer. This is one of the perks of features like Gemini Live, which lets you have free-flowing conversations where you can interrupt the assistant in the middle of an answer, something I can’t do with Bixby.

One thing that Bixby has that Gemini doesn’t is the ability to use your own voice as an option for the assistant, which you set up by reading a number of prompts to it. This allows it to capture your vocal intricacies and inflections. It works decently well, but it still sounds tinny and robotic.

Still, I prefer using Gemini over Bixby, and the voice is one of the reasons why Google’s virtual assistant is generally better.

OpenAI Turns ChatGPT Into a Full-Fledged Digital Assistant https://earlybirdsinvest.com/openai-turns-chatgpt-into-a-full-fledged-digital-assistant/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/openai-turns-chatgpt-into-a-full-fledged-digital-assistant/#respond Fri, 18 Jul 2025 14:47:06 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/openai-turns-chatgpt-into-a-full-fledged-digital-assistant/

OpenAI has introduced a new “agent mode” for ChatGPT, available to users on Pro, Plus, and Team plans starting July 17.

This mode turns the chatbot into a versatile assistant that can schedule events, build presentations, and write and run code, all by following natural-language prompts.

The agent merges Operator’s ability to interact with websites and Deep Research’s skill at summarizing information from multiple sources.

Users can also link the agent to external apps like Gmail and GitHub through connectors. It has access to a built-in terminal and can use app interfaces to complete specific actions.

These tools enable the agent to manage detailed requests, such as planning and shopping for a meal, comparing competitors, and preparing a slide deck. The assistant carries out the necessary steps automatically, based only on the prompt given.

OpenAI has implemented additional safeguards for the agent mode. The company marks the agent as high risk in sensitive areas, such as biology and chemistry. Even though it has not seen harmful use yet, it checks all prompts for biological content and screens any related responses to prevent misuse.

Furthermore, OpenAI has disabled the memory feature in agent mode. While memory in other parts of ChatGPT lets it reference earlier conversations, the company stated that leaving it on could allow attackers to extract sensitive information.

Limitations of ChatGPT as a Crypto Trading Assistant

Although ChatGPT has numerous capabilities that make it a decent crypto trading assistant, it has certain flaws. Before starting to use ChatGPT as a crypto trading assistant, you need to be aware of the limitations. Some of the main limitations of ChatGPT in the context of crypto trading are:

  • Lack of access to real-time data

One of the main limitations of ChatGPT is that it does not have access to crypto trading data on a real-time basis. It is a major shortcoming of ChatGPT that users need to bear in mind while thinking of using it for crypto trading purposes. Users need to specifically integrate external APIs into ChatGPT so that the tool can access real-time market data. Otherwise, they need to input data on a real-time basis so that ChatGPT can be used as an assistant that can provide relevant guidance relating to crypto trading.

  • Possibility of misinterpretation of prompts

Users need to input prompts into ChatGPT so that the toot can perform analysis or give suggestions to them. A common limitation that may arise revolves around the misinterpretation of prompts. Due to misinterpretation, ChatGPT may make errors in analysis, and it may provide incorrect suggestions. Thus, it is essential for individuals to realize the importance of ChatGPT prompts for crypto trading.

  • Risk relating to latency and execution

A serious limitation that may arise while using ChatGPT in crypto trading is a delay. Due to the delay between the decision-making process and the execution of the order, traders may suffer. Since ChatGPT depends on external APIs for input, the possibility of delays is high. It may ultimately affect the processing of strategies that are adopted by investors when it comes to crypto trading.

  • Limited insight into reasoning

The reasoning approach that is adopted by ChatGPT is considered to be opaque in nature. Due to this, users may not be able to get a comprehensive insight into the decisions or suggestions made by the generative AI tool. New crypto traders may be significantly affected as they may not understand how a trading strategy works.

  • Confident Misinformation

A common limitation that has been observed in AI language models is related to confident misinformation or hallucinations. While using it for crypto trading purposes, there is a chance of getting incorrect information. Moreover, such information may be presented using a confident tone, thereby misleading traders. It is essential for traders to be cautious of this limitation and use the information appropriately.

ChatGPT has a number of limitations that hamper its overall effectiveness in the crypto trading context. Traders and investors need to be aware of these shortcomings so that they will not entirely rely on the generative AI tool while adopting their trading strategy.

The role of ChatGPT prompts for crypto trading is immense. While crafting your prompts, you should make sure to use simple and understandable language. Traders must avoid using confusing language as it may confuse the tool, and inaccurate information may be produced. Due to such mistakes, you may adopt an incorrect trading strategy that may ultimately lead to losses.

Backtesting is a method that can be adopted to evaluate the possible performance of a trading strategy. You can use this technique to test whether your trading strategy will be successful or not. This is a smart way that can help crypto traders to understand the overall effectiveness of their trading approach. It is a smart move for both new as well as experienced crypto traders.

However, it is equally important that ChatGPT has several limitations that impede its assistance as a crypto trading assistant. The insight into its capabilities as well as limitations is essential before using it for crypto trading.

These are several strategic approaches, such as simple framing of prompts, backtesting, and many more, that you can consider while using ChatGPT in the crypto trading context. Robinhood to Launch Cash Delivery and AI-Powered Trading Assistant Service https://earlybirdsinvest.com/robinhood-to-launch-cash-delivery-and-ai-powered-trading-assistant-service/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/robinhood-to-launch-cash-delivery-and-ai-powered-trading-assistant-service/#respond Thu, 27 Mar 2025 07:53:58 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/robinhood-to-launch-cash-delivery-and-ai-powered-trading-assistant-service/

Robinhood Markets has revealed plans to offer physical cash delivery and an AI-powered trading assistant to select customers.

In a blog post published on March 27, the firm said its online banking division, Robinhood Banking, will soon provide savings accounts to Gold-tier subscribers via Coastal Community Bank.

Ordering an Uber for Money

One of the standout features of the service is an on-demand cash delivery option, allowing users to receive cash at home similarly to ordering from Uber or Postmates.

“You could be sitting at home and decide to get a cash delivery the same way you’d want to order an Uber or a Postmates,” said Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev during a livestream announcement.

He added that while many services have evolved with technology, banking has remained tied to traditional methods like ATMs and physical branches.

Historically, cash delivery was a luxury offered to high-net-worth clients through armored vehicles.

Robinhood’s offering aims to modernize this concept, though specifics about who delivers the cash and the logistics remain unclear.

The company’s terms indicate that delivery coverage will depend on geographic factors and travel routes.

Robinhood also announced it will launch a new feature called Robinhood Strategies, providing users with curated investment options that include single stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

This will be accompanied later this year by an AI research assistant named Cortex, available exclusively to $5-per-month Gold subscribers.

Cortex is designed to offer real-time analysis, insights, and personalized trading suggestions. Tenev said the assistant was built after extensive feedback from users over a two-year development period.

Abhishek Fatehpuria, Robinhood’s VP of product management, confirmed that the firm is exploring ways to integrate cryptocurrencies more deeply into its platform.

This follows the company’s recent launch of a prediction betting market on March 17, which helped drive an 8% surge in its stock.

Despite recent innovations, Robinhood’s stock (HOOD) closed down 7.1% on March 26 at $44.73, with an additional 2.84% dip after hours, according to Google Finance.

Earlier this month, Robinhood expanded its crypto offerings by listing meme coins like Pengu (PENGU), Pnut (PNUT), and Popcat (POPCAT), and in January, the platform introduced futures contracts tied to assets like Bitcoin.

Massachusetts Regulator Probes Robinhood Over Prediction Markets Offering

Just recently, Massachusetts securities regulators launched an investigation into Robinhood’s prediction markets, which allow users to place bets on various real-world events—including college basketball tournaments.

Massachusetts Secretary of State Bill Galvin confirmed that his office issued a subpoena to Robinhood last week.

The subpoena requests details on the platform’s marketing strategies and the number of Massachusetts-based users participating in event contract trading related to college basketball.

The new regulatory trouble comes shortly after Robinhood Crypto revealed that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially closed its investigation into the platform without taking any enforcement action.

The probe, which began last spring over concerns about potential unregistered securities sales, ended on February 21.

The switch from Google Assistant to Gemini might kill Nest speakers and displays https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-switch-from-google-assistant-to-gemini-might-kill-nest-speakers-and-displays/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-switch-from-google-assistant-to-gemini-might-kill-nest-speakers-and-displays/#respond Fri, 21 Mar 2025 07:04:36 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-switch-from-google-assistant-to-gemini-might-kill-nest-speakers-and-displays/

Google Home and Nest speakers and displays as we know them may be doomed if the company’s recent Google Assistant deprecations are any indication. Google Assistant is rapidly losing features as Google puts more time and effort into Gemini, its AI-based chatbot and assistant. Just this week, Google announced plans to remove seven more features from Google Assistant in the future, following up the 18 features that were lost in early 2024.

As such, it’s not an understatement to call the Google Assistant a shell of its former self. That isn’t as much of an issue on smartphones and tablets, as Gemini serves as a better virtual assistant in many cases. When Gemini falls short, Android phones and tablets can take advantage of Assistant extensions to fill the gap. In fact, rumors point to Gemini replacing the Google Assistant on smartwatches via a future Wear OS update, too.

There’s just one problem — Gemini can’t replace the Google Assistant on the smart home devices that need it most. Google hasn’t refreshed its smart displays, including the second-generation Nest Hub and the Nest Hub Max, since 2021. It hasn’t updated the Google Nest Mini smart speaker since 2019. That reality means that the affordable and aging Nest smart speakers and displays could be left without critical Assistant features and unable to run Gemini effectively.

Google TV Streamer with Nest Cam

(Image credit: Andrew Myrick / Android Central)

Google quietly set a precedent for how it plans to get Gemini on smart home products last year, and it’s bad news for fans of Nest hardware. The company completely killed the affordable Chromecast lineup in favor of the $100 Google TV Streamer, which will soon get Gemini Live and other AI features.

With Google seemingly winding down Assistant and putting a greater focus on Gemini, I’m worried that the Nest lineup could share a similar fate. The company could shift toward more expensive (and powerful) smart home controllers, like the Pixel Tablet, which can better handle Gemini. That would be a mistake because Google Assistant is the perfect piece of software to run on affordable and lightweight smart home products.

Google Nest speakers and displays are borderline useless without Assistant features

Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) photo library

Due to the age of Google Nest speakers and displays, they’re starting to slow down, and features are beginning not to work as expected. In some instances, the platform has felt like an afterthought. Earlier this year, a bug caused Nest devices to fail to answer basic requests, and it took weeks for users to get a fix.

On top of that, Google is actively killing key Google Assistant features. Aside from the 18 features axed last year, the company recently updated its support document with seven new deprecations. For instance, you won’t be able to change photo frame settings or ambient screen settings with your voice anymore. While you can still do this manually on your Nest display, that kind of defeats the point of having a voice-equipped smart screen.

Nest Mini

Some of the more egregious removals include the ability to get daily updates from your Google Assistant, such as requests like “Send me the weather every day.” You also won’t be able to favorite, share, or use your voice to ask about photos that were taken. Put simply, Nest hardware doesn’t just lack new features — it’s also consistently losing basic functionality and features.

It’s understandable that Google doesn’t want to spread itself too thin by working on Assistant and Gemini simultaneously, but it should consider all of the products in its portfolio. While Pixel phones and tablets are getting better by the day with new Gemini features, Nest speakers and displays are seemingly getting worse by the day.

Android Central reached out to Google regarding its plans for current and future Nest devices, as well as the state of Google Assistant, but the company did not get back to us in time for publication.

Gemini won’t solve the problem, it’ll make it worse

(Image credit: Andrew Myrick / Android Central)

If the option to switch to Gemini was available today for Nest hardware, Google’s recent Assistant feature removals would be defensible. However, it isn’t, and I’m skeptical that Gemini is the solution to this problem. It’s unlikely that a Gemini-based assistant could run on older Nest speakers and displays, leaving them stuck with a Google Assistant bleeding basic features.

The transition to Gemini might kill Nest smart home products as we know them. Existing hardware would almost certainly become less useful, as the Google Assistant has lost 25 features since the start of 2024. New hardware, if released, would probably be priced higher than current Nest speakers and displays to accommodate AI processing demands.

Historically, the great thing about the Google Nest family of products was that you could outfit your entire home with speakers, cameras, and displays without breaking the bank. A Nest Mini speaker costs $50 at retail, and a Nest Hub display costs $100 at retail.

The shiny Google Nest Learning Thermostat (Gen 4)

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

Google needs to upgrade Nest smart speakers and displays, like it upgraded the Nest Learning Thermostat and created the Google TV Streamer. Many of the devices in the Nest lineup are half a decade old, or older.

With that being said, it should be careful about creating new Nest speakers and displays that are more premium, more powerful, and more pricey. If the future of Nest hardware is Gemini-powered products sold at a premium price, the brand’s identity would be drastically changed.

Google is dialing back more Assistant features on Android and Nest devices https://earlybirdsinvest.com/google-is-dialing-back-more-assistant-features-on-android-and-nest-devices/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/google-is-dialing-back-more-assistant-features-on-android-and-nest-devices/#respond Tue, 18 Mar 2025 09:15:55 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/google-is-dialing-back-more-assistant-features-on-android-and-nest-devices/

What you need to know

  • Seven more Google Assistant features are getting axed, continuing the trend that started in late 2024.
  • Google is not giving a heads-up on when these features will vanish. Instead, you’ll get a notification while using them, letting you know they’re about to disappear.
  • To soften the blow, Google suggests setting up custom Routines to replicate some of the lost features.

Google Assistant’s time is ticking as Gemini takes over mobile and eventually smart devices, so the tech giant announced the new batch of features on the chopping block.

With Gemini set to fully take over by the end of 2025, Google is now axing seven more Assistant features, as spotted by 9to5Google. This move isn’t exactly surprising, though. Google has been slowly chipping away at Assistant’s capabilities since late 2024, making it clear that the transition is well underway.

Turns out, the Gemini transition isn’t just happening to Android phones. Google’s smart home lineup, including premium smart speakers and smart displays, is also in for some changes.

After phasing out several Assistant features, Google has now confirmed that more “underutilized features” are getting the axe as part of this transition.

What’s getting cut?

First off, Google is pulling the plug on the ability to manage photo metadata by voice. That means you won’t be able to favorite, share, or ask about the time and location of photos using voice commands anymore. However, you can still do all of this manually in the Google Photos app, and photo metadata will still be viewable on Smart Displays and tablets.

Similarly, voice commands for tweaking photo frame and ambient display settings are going away, but you can still adjust them directly through the Smart Display settings.

Interpreter mode, which provides real-time multilingual translation during conversations, is also getting cut. You’ll still be able to translate single words and phrases, but the live conversation feature is disappearing.

Google is also removing automatic birthday reminders in Routines, though you can still set them up manually with Assistant commands. Family Bell announcements—scheduled or requested reminders for family broadcasts—are also on the chopping block.

Additionally, Google is shutting down automatic daily updates like weather reports, but you can still set up custom Routines to get scheduled updates. Lastly, Google Assistant will no longer work with car accessories connected via Bluetooth or an aux cable.

No clear timeline, just warnings

To make things even more frustrating, Google hasn’t laid out a clear timeline for when these features will disappear. Instead, users will get notifications while using affected features, giving them a heads-up before they’re shut down.

To make up for the loss of features you’ve come to love, Google suggests setting up custom Routines as a workaround.
