Ethereum is dominating the cryptocurrency market with extraordinary price strength, surging over 200% since April and positioning itself as the top-performing major asset in the space. The rally has fueled growing optimism among analysts, with many projecting that all-time highs could soon be within reach for bullish investors. The combination of robust fundamentals, increasing institutional participation, and a favorable legal environment has created a perfect backdrop for Ethereum’s latest surge.

One of the most striking developments supporting the rally is the historic drop in Ethereum’s supply on exchanges, now at its lowest levels ever. This signals strong long-term holding behavior among investors and reduces the amount of ETH readily available for sale, amplifying the potential for upward price moves. Institutional interest has been particularly notable, with large-scale purchases adding sustained buying pressure to the market.

Some analysts are now warning of a possible “supply shock” — a scenario where rapidly increasing demand meets extremely limited supply, potentially accelerating price gains even further. With Ethereum’s network fundamentals strengthening and sentiment reaching new highs, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether ETH pushes into uncharted territory and sets fresh all-time highs in this market cycle.

Ethereum Whale Accumulation Fuels Speculation Of Institutional Buying

According to top crypto analyst Ted Pillows, a mysterious wallet has purchased an astounding $1.34 billion worth of Ethereum over the past eight days, marking one of the largest single accumulation streaks in recent months. Pillows, who has been closely tracking the wallet’s transactions, suggests the scale and consistency of these buys point toward a major institutional player or a highly capitalized entity making a long-term bet on ETH.

While the identity behind the wallet remains unknown, the activity has sparked widespread speculation across the crypto community. Some market watchers believe it could be the result of over-the-counter (OTC) deals designed to minimize market impact, while others suspect it may be a market maker firm strategically positioning ahead of a major move. The lack of public disclosure leaves the exact motive unclear, but the sheer size of the purchases underscores growing high-level confidence in Ethereum’s outlook.

Many see the whale’s buying spree as a potential catalyst that could accelerate this move, especially with exchange supply at historic lows and institutional demand surging. The coming days could prove pivotal for Ethereum’s price trajectory. If the market interprets these massive inflows as the start of a sustained institutional accumulation phase, bullish momentum could intensify rapidly.

ETH Price Analysis: Testing Resistance Near 2021 ATH

Ethereum (ETH) is trading at $4,283, posting a 0.73% gain on the weekly chart as it approaches a major resistance area near its 2021 all-time highs. This surge follows a sharp rally from the $2,852 support level, which marked the breakout point for the current uptrend.

ETH approaching all-time highs | Source: ETHUSDT chart on TradingView

The chart shows ETH trading well above its 50-week SMA ($2,768), 100-week SMA ($2,759), and 200-week SMA ($2,441), reflecting strong bullish momentum and a firmly established long-term uptrend. The breakout above $3,860 — now acting as immediate support — confirms market strength and could serve as a base for the next leg higher.

However, the $4,300–$4,400 zone has historically been a critical inflection point. A decisive close above this range would likely trigger momentum buying, opening the path toward uncharted territory and potential new all-time highs. Conversely, failure to break through could see ETH retest $3,860 or even fall back toward $3,200 if selling pressure intensifies.

Volume has picked up notably during this rally, signaling strong conviction among buyers. With fundamentals and institutional interest both strengthening, ETH’s ability to overcome this resistance could determine whether the next phase of the bull run accelerates in the coming weeks.

Anonymous wallet vs Bitcoin core wallet https://earlybirdsinvest.com/anonymous-wallet-vs-bitcoin-core-wallet/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/anonymous-wallet-vs-bitcoin-core-wallet/#respond Sat, 09 Aug 2025 05:57:11 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/anonymous-wallet-vs-bitcoin-core-wallet/

I don’t really know what you’re looking for. It seems like the language barriers are misunderstood here, but let’s address the context rather than the question (it seems like we’re looking for a project review that’s not a topic here).

Bitcoin Core will present a new address each time and create a new payment procedure receive tab. This helps users to separate payment contexts. By receiving payments to the address, it indicates which invoices have been resolved, thereby telling the recipient what payments the sender has paid and what payments they have paid.

Bitcoin payments are private in the sense that they do not contain information about the sender and recipient names or subject fields, but are not anonymous. All Bitcoin transaction data is fully public. In addition to time, amount, and transaction specificity, all transaction outputs are associated with specific output scripts (and usually corresponding addresses) that are opposed to some users. While the sender and receiver may have information about each other, third parties may also have information about the transaction output that is being spent funding transactions where they can make guesses about the current transaction.

Therefore, Bitcoin transactions are private in the sense that the transaction’s context is not immediately public, but are not anonymous in the sense that the words are normally used.

Welcome to Slate Sundays, CryptoSlate’s new weekly feature showcasing in-depth interviews, expert analysis, and thought-provoking op-eds that go beyond the headlines to explore the ideas and voices shaping the future of crypto.

Hands up if you’ve heard of Luckycoin.

If it sounds familiar, you’re either an industry OG since the days of the Silk Road and Satoshi Dice, or a shiny new-wave crypto-curious with a penchant for collectors’ coins.

Why? Because Luckycoin dates all the way back to 2013, a veritable lifetime in the history of crypto, when Bitcoin was fun and the conversations took place on forums rather than shiny conference halls.

Think more Bitcoin scaling, BTC bubbles, nefarious actors, and software bugs; less Bitcoin ETFs, treasuries, presidential pumps, and strategic reserves.

But back to Lucky.

As a fork of Litecoin, one of the original altcoins in Bitcoin’s wake, Luckycoin was the 22nd coin created and listed on CoinMarketCap.

If you look at its price history today, it resembles a stalagmite. Even if it weren’t for Luckycoin’s anonymous creator and random winning tokenomics, this chart alone tells a story, and not the usual one you’ve come to expect.

So, take my hand and let me guide you through the twists and turns of Luckycoin’s journey. It’s a tale fraught with epic highs, crushing lows, and a decade-long slumber to rival Sleeping Beauty’s, and see the Bitcoin lineage memecoin emerge like a “phoenix from the ashes” to claim its rightful place as a revived piece of crypto history.

Let’s begin.

From anonymous beginnings to the Doge-father

Luckycoin was cut from the same cloth as Bitcoin, created by an anonymous developer known as “LuckyC.” Just as Satoshi Nakamoto did with Bitcoin, LuckyC embedded the financial headline of the day in its genesis block.

But Luckycoin was never intended to disrupt the corrosive financial system; it was an experiment meant to be “fun, fast, and fair.” Head of partnerships and BD in the Luckycoin community, Dan, explains:

“Fast, because of its quick epochs and speed, fair in the sense that no VCs were backing the coin, similar to Bitcoin. It’s completely decentralized, so it gave everyone the opportunity to buy at whatever price it was.

The fun aspect is that every block mined has an opportunity to earn 2x, 5x, or 58x the normal block rewards. This adds to the unpredictability associated with Lucky, and that’s where that meme aspect comes in.”

Luckycoin introduced the concept of LuckyBlocks, with additional random rewards at a 5%, 1%, and 0.01% probability, respectively. As a coin that’s now merge-mined along with Litecoin, Dogecoin, and other Scrypt coins, miners can simultaneously earn LKY at no extra cost when mining any of these other coins. Dan enthuses:

“We’re merge-mined as part of the Binance merge mining pool, which increases the hash rate of the blockchain, which then shores up the blockchain and makes it more secure.”

As an OG Proof-of-Work coin, Lucky’s a direct descendant of Bitcoin and the chain from which Dogecoin was forked. Dan says:

“So it goes Bitcoin, then forked to Litecoin, which then forked to Lucky. Luckycoin itself was then forked to create Dogecoin, so it’s actually the father of Dogecoin.”

Who’s your daddy?

Those deep in the weeds of Dogecoin’s story may recall hearing about Billy Markus’ quest to create a joke crypto that would capture the imagination of its community.

He spent “a couple of hours” forking Luckycoin, changing its fonts, tokenomics, branding, and turning it into the chain every member of the Department of Government Efficiency has come to know and love.

Early versions of the Dogecoin wallet still contained references to Luckycoin, with a warning left over from the fork in Dogecoin’s client that said, “You will LOSE ALL OF YOUR LUCKYCOINS!” if you forget your passphrase.

Doge Client
Doge Client

Sadly, like many ungrateful offspring before it, Dogecoin’s success came to the detriment of Luckycoin. The Shiba Inu-themed memecoin went viral in 2014, becoming one of the most traded cryptos around and leaving Luckycoin in the dust.

All traces of LuckyC vanished, and there were no new updates onchain. Interest dwindled, and developers, miners, and Lucky enthusiasts dropped off a cliff, sending the chain into a 10-year dormancy.

The last block mined in the original run was block #81,743 on November 25, 2013. Luckycoin became a mere footnote in crypto history.

Luckycoin: gone but not forgotten

Between 2014 and 2024, no new blocks were mined. Luckycoin remained in a comatose state, its fate seemingly sealed among the echelons of failed cryptos, known only to a few as the forebear of Elon’s pet chain.

Yet, just like the ring of power, Luckycoin’s code base lay patiently in wait to be found years later by a new owner.

In August 2024, at the height of the meme coin craze, a group of unsuspecting developers came across an old backup of the Luckycoin blockchain from 2013. Destiny was ready to be rewritten.

Luckycoin was revived by a community takeover team (CTO). Instead of creating a new coin from scratch, the team elected to continue on the original chain, picking up where LuckyC left off and producing block #81,744 on August 25, 2024, to preserve the original genesis block and all historical transactions.

One of the first restorative tweaks the CTO team made was to adjust the Luckycoin code to run on modern systems by adding Auxiliary Proof-of-Work (AuxPoW) support. This enabled merge mining along with Dogecoin, Litecoin, and other Scrypt coins. Dan says:

“With merge mining, as long as Litecoin and Dogecoin are going to be around, then we’ll be around because I don’t see either of those two going out of business any time soon.”

Scarcer than a snowball in the Sahara

One of the most appealing aspects of Luckycoin is the scarcity of its supply: of the 20 million or so coins that will ever be mined, at least 15% have been lost forever, with a further 11% permanently out of circulation. Dan explains:

“It is one of the most scarce coins out there. Roughly 20 million lucky coins will be created. We say roughly because of that unpredictability with the LKY mining, the 2x, 5x, and 58x I mentioned, so you can’t ever get 20 million coins created. You probably get 20,000,100.”

Of the capped supply, more than 3.1 million LKY lie in dormant wallets, likely lost, and over 2.2 million are blacklisted and unable to be used. Dan clarifies:

“There’s a whole bunch of large coin holders that can never access them because they were sitting on exchanges that went out of business and went bust. Back in the day, you couldn’t store your coins on a Ledger or a Trezor, and they were pretty much sitting on exchanges that went down the drain. We have the list of the dormant cold wallets that have been untouched, and we’re tracking them. None of them has actually popped up.”

LKY to the moon… and back

By late 2024, major mining pools like Binance and ViaBTC were merge-mining LKY, boosting the network’s security and power, and sending the hash rate from ~5 TH/s to over 50 TH/s within a week of the revival. The new team also implemented a faster halving schedule (every 100k blocks) to accelerate the distribution of the remaining supply.

With the wind at its back, the sky was the limit for the plucky little chain that could. Lucky blocks, a scarce supply, and merge-mined along with one of the industry’s most popular memecoins, a frenzy for LKY ensued.

It wasn’t only nostalgic miners and developers who returned. Luckycoin appealed to the next generation of crypto adopters who bought into its wild price action and historic lore. Luckycoin was a rare gem in a sea of pump.fun shills.

Drunk on its captivating story, LKY supporters continued to emerge and listings on exchanges like MEXC and Gate followed. Crypto influencers and KOLs like TheCryptoDog and Miles Deutscher began jumping on the bandwagon as well, dedicating a YouTube video to his Luckycoin thesis, wide-eyed, with the opening words:

“Oh boy, I think I’ve just found something absolutely huge.”

The boatload of momentum surrounding Lucky sent its price ripping into the stratosphere, from ~30 cents a coin all the way to an eyewatering all-time high of $16.83 on November 25, 2024.

It was all yacht parties, dancing girls, and champagne… until Lucky’s past came back to haunt it, and the price came crashing down like a piano from a tenth-floor window.

What goes up must come down

Over the 2024 Christmas and New Year’s holiday period, Luckycoin suffered a Replay Attack, and a vulnerability in its code was exploited by an unscrupulous villain, who was able to replay old transactions from the legacy chain and drain dormant wallets.

2,679,390.79 LKY were moved during the attack, involving 1,307 distinct input addresses (previously dormant) and 580 distinct output addresses, not just taking the wind out of Luckycoin’s sails, but stirring an almighty hurricane blasting it all the way back from whence it came. LKY lost ~95% of its value within a couple of weeks. Dan remarks:

“There was an old chain that was running concurrently, and they recalled a whole bunch of LKY to set a whole cascade of sell orders, so there was a flooding of LKY onto the market.”

The addresses in the replay attack were blacklisted, and the core vulnerability was fully patched at the cryptographic level, making legacy transactions invalid on the new chain, with “zero percent chance of it happening again.” Yet, the fallout was severe: LKY today trades at under 30 cents a coin.

While Lucky’s second demise was not malevolently executed in the pump-and-dump fashion of your average memecoin scam, a cursory glance at that price chart does little to instill faith in your average buyer. Dan laments:

“There was a massive price retrace, with people thinking that it was a scam, which it wasn’t because it’s completely decentralized.”

Third time’s a charm for Luckycoin?

Dan speaks about the strength of the community and how its CTO team members (the ones who didn’t flee) rallied around the OG memecoin and set about making amends.

“We’re a group of members that have come together who see the same vision in terms of restoring Lucky to its glory. Some of the old CTOs stepped down because of reputational damage, and a new CTO came on board.

It happened organically, and it happened during the mess of the replay attack. Out of that was a phoenix rising, where we all came together, with the same vision and mission.”

Since its painful retracement, the new CTO has worked tirelessly to bring Lucky back to life for a third time, patching the code, restoring trust, and building key partnerships and community.

Luckycoin recently joined forces with one of the longest-standing crypto wallets in the industry, Coinomi, enabling LKY holders to store their coins safely, non-custodially, and offchain. Dan regails:

“Coinomi was running a competition where they would partner with the largest engaging community, so that just goes to show you the community we have.”

Beyond its partnerships with MEXC and Gate, an initiative with Scrypt Wallet to bridge LKY to the Solana ecosystem is now in its final stages. Dan enthuses:

“A Lucky to Solana bridge will be great because it opens up LKY to all of the Solana people.”

The team is also looking to implement a hard wallet integration and is in the early stages of partnerships with Trezor, with plans to extend support to Ledger.

They are also busily working on a “marketing push” to raise the LKY price to a dollar and produce enough volume to be listed by a larger exchange, such as Binance or OKX. Dan shares:

“We need to grow the community first and use the current exchanges that we have to go to the bigger players.”

Will the coin’s scarcity, Bitcoin lineage, Lucky Blocks, and great lore be enough to see Luckycoin shine for a third time? Dan certainly thinks so:

“It’s a long-term cycle coin, and it has such a unique place in crypto history that we’re trying to maintain.”

The European Union has confirmed it will introduce strict anti-money laundering rules that will ban privacy-focused cryptocurrencies and anonymous digital asset accounts starting in 2027.

The new rules fall under the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR). If approved, banks, other financial firms, and crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) will no longer be allowed to offer accounts that hide a user’s identity or handle privacy tokens that mask transactions.

The European Crypto Initiative (EUCI) explained in its AML Handbook that Article 79 of the AMLR clearly bans these services. It said, “Credit institutions, financial institutions, and crypto-asset service providers are prohibited from maintaining anonymous accounts”.

Another major change is the creation of a new Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA). Starting in 2027, AMLA will directly supervise larger CASPs operating in at least six EU countries. At first, AMLA will choose 40 companies, including at least one from each member state.

To qualify for direct supervision, firms must meet certain criteria. These include having at least 20,000 customers in a single country or handling yearly transactions worth more than 50 million euros (about 56 million US dollars).

The new rules will also require firms to carry out customer checks on any crypto transfers worth more than 1,000 euros (around 1,100 US dollars).

Meanwhile, nearly 30 crypto advocates recently asked the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to clarify staking rules. What did they say? Read the full story.

Comment on AntMiner R4 Review – Is Home Bitcoin Mining Back? by Anonymous https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-antminer-r4-review-is-home-bitcoin-mining-back-by-anonymous/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-antminer-r4-review-is-home-bitcoin-mining-back-by-anonymous/#respond Tue, 29 Apr 2025 05:02:53 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-antminer-r4-review-is-home-bitcoin-mining-back-by-anonymous/

Introduction

The era of home Bitcoin mining is over, or that’s what some people keep repeating in the forums. People have been complaining that big mining facilities inflated the mining difficulty at such point that it is impossible for an individual to profit from mining. But is that so?

Some months ago Bitmain released a new Antminer model, the R4, known as the “Ultimate Bitcoin miner for home”. Bitmain is well-known for their Antminer line. For instance, the Antminer S9 is known as the fastest miner on the market.

Their product motto “Bringing Mining Back Home” is not without a reason: the Antminer R4 is by far the best solution for home Bitcoin mining. It features extremely low noise levels, great hashrate and low power consumption.

The miner was well-received and it gathered many great reviews after its release. There were however, some technical issues too. In this review, I will try to sum up everything and provide you with a complete picture on the miner – what to expect from it and how to profit with it.

Antminer R4 Specifications

One glance at the specs is enough to make a conclusion that the R4 has some potential.

  • Noise level: 51dB (at an ambient temp. of 35C)
  • Power Consumption: 845W +- 9%

Design

Like the other Antminers, the R4 is big and heavy, though not as massive as the S9. It comes in a sturdy metallic box. The metal adds both to its durability and cooling. Talking about which, the R4 is praised as one of the most silent ASIC miners on the market. This is one of the main features that make it the choice #1 hardware for home Bitcoin mining.

The R4 comes with a custom low-revolution fan, which is automatically controlled by the miner. This way the fan is always spinning as slow as it possibly can, while ensuring optimal functioning temperature for the miner.
It runs at full speed only when the temperature of the heat sink is higher than 80C. The miner also comes with an overheat protection.

People were surprised how the miner would work quietly than a notebook. This alone makes the Antminer R4 a great option for home mining.

Power Supply

The AntMiner R4 is designed to be powered by the APW5 PSU manufactured by Bitmain. Just like the miner itself, the PSU is very silent. It can handle both 110 V and 220 V inputs, and it outputs 1300 W and 2600 W respectively. It can, however be powered up by a third-party supply. It might work slightly less efficiently and obviously more loudly. The input voltage should be 12V.

Profitability

The base price of the miner is 1132 USD. This does not include the PSU, so you would need to invest another 240 USD to get one. However, you can use one single APW5 PSU to power up two R4 miners if your input voltage is 220V. You’d also want to purchase a C13 power cord that supports up to 10 A of current.

Now let’s take a look at power consumption, which is probably the main factor to consider when purchasing this miner. 850W is a lot, and your profits might vary from 1360 USD per year (Idaho) to 622 USD per year (New York), depending on your electricity cost. People who get electricity for free might expect profits of up to 1955 USD per year if we don’t take into account any sudden changes in Bitcoin price or difficulty levels.

Before to continue further, please share this 🙂 thanks!

Hashrate and Efficiency

According to reviews and tests, the miner outputs 8TH/s (Batch 3) and 8.7TH/s (Batch 4). The huge hashrate is due to the fact that it employs 126 microchips with TSMC’s 16nm FinFET technology. This is also the reason why the miner efficiency is 0.098 J/GHs.

Usage

The R4 is very easy to set up and use. Unlike most other miners, the R4 has an intuitive and clear user interface – all you have to do is to connect it to the internet, check your miner IP address, access to the control panel and configure the pools and the wallet. That’s all you need in order to start mining.

Note: The default username and password is lowercase “root”.

Known Issues

Some people complain that their miners lose hash power after some days of usage. Looks like there are several reasons that might cause the issue. Sadly enough, this problem isn’t uncommon, so I thought it is important to mention it here:

1 Applying changes during the warming up phase might disable one of your boards. There’s a way to avoid that, though — Once you turn on the miner, you have to wait about 10 minutes for it to warm up and start hashing. Only then you can safely change the Config.ini script.
2 Some of the symptoms of a “dead” or “disabled” board include:

  • No default frequency on PIC
  • PIC voltage changing randomly between 790 and 940
  • Chain 7 (J8) ASIC count 0
  • Misleading temperature reading

3 There’s a chance that the miner won’t launch if the ambient temperature is below 20 C. Pre-heating it from the outside will usually make it work.

Now, if by some reason one of your boards was disabled or “died“, there are some steps you can take in order to attempt to restore it. According to feedback from several users, this method helped to restore the boards without the need to send them to Hong Kong for warranty service:

  • 1) Turn off and unplug the miner from the wall
  • 2) Unplug the working board – disconnect the white cable from the controller board
  • 3) Launch the miner and wait until it start to hash; give it some time
  • 4) If the dead board recovers its hashrate, then turn off the miner again
  • 5) Plug it out off the wall and plug the other board back
  • 6) Start the miner and wait until it hashes.

Note: You can attempt this several times until you get the desired results. You can also check the board performance via Putty.

It was hard to sort through all the information without sticking to one of the two biased sides, and I hope that this article will help you to make a more informed decision about the AntMiner R4.

It might be complicated to get the desired set of new-gen GPUs that would be profitable to use for mining, but it’s even harder to find a motherboard that would support them. Some MoBos require bios tweaking in order to run properly, while others lower the hashrate or have stability issues when under full load.

Of course, this applies if you have six GPUs in the rig, which seems to be the most common rig setup nowadays.

Biostar TB250-BTC Review – 6x GPU Mining Motherboard

AsRock was the brand #1 when it came to mining Motherboards. Their latest model, the H81 Pro BTC was the perfect fit for crypto miners. Now, with the growing popularity of altcoin mining, the company seems to have issues with supplying enough quantity of those MoBos. While good and affordable, one no longer can find them in the market.

This is where Biostar saw an opportunity and came with their new MoBo model, the TB250-BTC. This new MoBo is being advertised as being tailored for Bitcoin mining. That’s actually a poor advertising technique, since no GPU rig stands a chance against modern Bitcoin ASIC miners. However, the rig perfectly fits the needs of altcoin GPU miners.

Just like the AsRock Pro BTC series, the TB250-BTC comes with 6 slots for GPUs and additional 4-pin Molex power connectors. Unlikely its counterpart, the TB250-BTC comes with an up-to-date chipset, which is based on Intel B250. It also supports DDR4 RAM and socket 1151 CPUs.

Is it good for GPU mining? Definitively yes. The only downside is that since it is being manufactured by Biostar, it probably won’t be available as widely as AsRock MoBos are. However, there’s always a way to buy them online.

Entering Biostar with their new model TB250-BTC that is apparently intended for GPU mining rigs with up to 6x video cards and to additional 4-pin Molex power connectors onboard, just like on the AsRock Pro BTC series. To our knowledge this is the first motherboard intended for 6x GPU mining rigs with an up to date chipset, based on Intel B250 and supporting socket 1151 CPUs and DDR4 memory. The motherboard even has an M.2 slot available for installing onboard SSD modules, a feature that might also be interesting for some GPU miners.

Before to continue further, please share this 🙂 thanks!

The only problem with Biostar as a brand is the limited availability on many markets or the total lack of such, unlike AsRock that is available on much more markets worldwide. The Biostar TB250-BTC in not the first attempt at such a solution from the company, they previously had the Biostar TB85 motherboard that also came as an alternative to AsRock’s H81 Pro BTC, but it never got too popular since it was also hard to find on many markets and was more expensive.

Comment on PandaMiner B1 Plus Review – 8x RX480 GPU Integrated Miner by Anonymous https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-pandaminer-b1-plus-review-8x-rx480-gpu-integrated-miner-by-anonymous/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-pandaminer-b1-plus-review-8x-rx480-gpu-integrated-miner-by-anonymous/#respond Fri, 11 Apr 2025 05:08:06 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-pandaminer-b1-plus-review-8x-rx480-gpu-integrated-miner-by-anonymous/

PandaMiner is a new company that started manufacturing mining gear in 2016. They aren’t as popular as Bitmain, but their outlook is promising.

PandaMiner decided to get into the market with their first all-in-one miner, the PandaMiner B1 Plus “scrypt asic miner” , multi-algorithm mining. Some people loved it while others hated it (although most of them haven’t tried the miner yet).

There have been a lot of talk about the PandaMiner B1; in this article, we will try to find out what’s really going on.

Overview

The PandaMiner B1 is a pre-assembled GPU mining rig. It consists of eight RX-480 4GB cards assembled together, overclocked and optimized along with an embedded and pre-configured PC with Windows (Chinese). This makes the B1 the perfect rig for those who don’t want to spend hours in Google in order to learn how to assemble, configure and overclock a rig correctly.

However, this does not mean that the PandaMiner B1 Plus is a mining rig for beginners only. According to reviews of people who tried it (and keeping the specs in mind), the rig is actually well-made and it performs as well as you would expect from 8 RX-480s. On the other hand, the price is reasonable too. We will get into detail in a minute.

The usage is extremely simple since the miner includes everything. All you have to do is to plug it into your monitor, run the basic configuration and you’re set to go. This is probably the main selling point of the product.

The Design

PandaMiner B1 Plus 237MH/s (ETH) & 1880Sol/s (Zcash) 5890H/S (XMR) 1120w-1250w

Price History

The only way you can purchase it is by using bitcoin (unless you live in China or from Amazon). This is one of the reasons why some people opted for this miner when it hit the shelves.

Now, let’s be honest – anyone can purchase the same components by separate and assemble their own mining rig. Let’s say you are an experienced miner (or you are a beginner with a lot of spare time) and you decide to make your own rig. How much would it cost?

Shipping costs are not included either, since it greatly depends on the seller. However, if you purchase several components from different sellers, shipping costs might add up quite a lot.

Inside

ROI

Now, let’s get into the most important part. According to official specs (as well as tests performed by individuals), here are the three main mining algorithms and their respective hashrates supported by the miner:

Ethereum (ETH)ZCash (ZEC)Monero (XMR)PandaMiner B1 in Action

Ethereum Hashrate: 237 MH/s
Power Consumption: 1250W
Average profit per month: $180 (1 ETH = $11.30 – February 5 2017)

ZCash Hashrate: 1880 H/s
Power Consumption: 1200W
Average profit per month: $120 (1 ZEC = $38.00 – February 5 2017)

XMR Hashrate: 5890H/S
Power Consumption: 1120W
Profit per month: $180 (1 XMR = $12.81 – February 5 2017)

An this is not all, some users started to create custom Linux OS versions for PandaMiner getting even better hashing speed, stock settings 5890h using claymore (with fee) consuming 1120 watt, with modified rom Linux hashing at 6400h using sgminer (no fee) consuming 880 watt (4amp)! That’s something!!

Linux + modded roms make this rig ALOT more interesting & attractive

According to the company website, PandaMiner B1 also supports LBRY, and a couple of other GPU minable cryptocurrencies. Nevertheless, no user confirmed that, yet.

Reputation

This is a tricky topic because as we said earlier, there is a lot of trash talk about the PandaMiner B1 on the web. It takes a minute to find several forum posts and reviews where people literally spit venom on the miner.

Now, after a bit of research it becomes apparent that the miner was criticized even before it hit the shelves. In most of the cases, people would give their opinions about the company and the product without even trying it first.

The main arguments against the PandaMiner B1 were that:

  • a. PandaMiner is new and has no reputation yet
  • b. You pay too much for something you could do yourself
  • c. You get trusted warranty for products you purchase through Amazon, which means it’s safer to purchase all the components separately and assemble the rig on your own.

Benchmark & Motherboard with AMD GPU

Now, those were the most rational arguments that actually make sense. Problem is – the forums are also filled with people yelling “scam”. That makes no sense, because people would label PandaMiner as “Chinese scammers” way before the miner was even released. Of course, there is a share of real life stories about Chinese companies scamming their customers, but does it mean that every Chinese company is a scam?

Now, if we get back to those three reasonable arguments, we suppose that (A) and (C) make sense – PandaMiner is new to the market and they had no way to prove themselves yet. Now, the whole altcoin mining world is new to, so it would be naïve to expect them to be a company with 10 years of expertise on the field.

The point (B) is rather subjective. We have listed the manufacturing costs, and it’s up to you to decide whether you want to save that money and build the rig on your own.

Comment on Baikal Quadruple Miner ASIC Full Review by Anonymous https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-baikal-quadruple-miner-asic-full-review-by-anonymous/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-baikal-quadruple-miner-asic-full-review-by-anonymous/#respond Mon, 24 Mar 2025 05:24:56 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/comment-on-baikal-quadruple-miner-asic-full-review-by-anonymous/

Introduction

DASH mining becomes more profitable by the day. While big mining farms hold on to their rigs and keep mining Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC), common people who have their mining rigs at home are steadily switching to DASH. The reason is simple – the price of the crypto coin grows, while the available equipment to mine it is accessible and has great ROI.

Baikal Quadruple Miner is one of the best ASICS for DASH mining available on the market. In this review, I will go over the miner specs and then I will show you how to set it up. This mining rig is extremely easy to set up and use, which is one of the many reasons why it is considered great hardware for home mining.

Miner Specs

The Baikal Quadruple Miner ASIC consists of four Baikal Mini Miners. The Mini Miners are designed on a way that you can stack them up (up to four units) and then make them work together as one single rig.

This means that you don’t have to have an internet cable and router port assigned for each unit individually. You also can have only one power supply for the four units. I will get back to this a little bit later.

To receive the latest updates follow me on social media! 🙂

Hashrate and Power Usage

Each Mini Miner outputs 150 MH/s on average. The Quadruple Miner outputs 600 MH/s – the amount of miners that run simultaneously do not affect performance of each individual unit.

Concerning power usage, the whole unit pulls 160W from the wall (40W per unit multiplied by 4 units). This is actually a record among ASIC miners, and it is rare to find a miner that would have similar numbers.

Each of the four miners is connected to the power supply individually through a 2.5mm – 5.5mm barrel. To make things easier, the Baikal Quadruple Miner comes with the required adaptor from one ATX port to four barrel ones.

Cooling and Noise Levels

As you could expect, a 160W rig does not produces a lot of heat. However, each of the four rig modules comes with an individual cooling fan. How noisy would those be?
Well, according to official and non-official tests, the four rigs mining together and a generic 500W ATX power supply produce 56 Db in average.

Set-Up

The miner comes preassembled with all the required cables in the package. All you have to do is connect the data cables, the LAN cable and the power supply cables. Then you’d access the control panel and start mining. Let’s go over these steps:

First of all, you have to use the white cables to connect the Mini Miners in series. To do that, you can start with the upper miner, plug the white cable to the input port and then connect it to the output port of the miner that is one tier lower. Here’s how it goes:

Once the three cables are properly connected, plug in the LAN cable to the bottom unit. Then, plug the power adaptor cable to the ATX power supply and then plug each barrel to their respective miner.

Before to continue further, please share this 🙂 thanks!

Finally, it is time to turn the rig on.

It is important that you pay attention to the following things:

  • First plug the unit to the wall and only then turn the power switches on. Do not do it the other way around.
  • Once everything is plugged in to the wall and the power supply is running, you got to turn the switches on starting from the top unit (the one that does not have the LAN port on it). Turn them on one by one, going from top to bottom.

Also notice that the lights will not turn on till you turn on all the miners. Once you turn the four switches on, you will see two lights on each miner — The red light means that the miner is ON while the blue flashing light means that the miner is establishing Internet connection and searching for its IP address.

The automatic IP lookup process usually takes a minute, after which the blue lights stop flashing and just remain turned on. If they won’t stop flashing after a couple of minutes, you might want to check the internet connection and your power supply.

Software Configuration

The software configuration part is pretty much straightforward. Again, this is actually one of the main reasons why people like this miner. First, you got to type the IP address of your router, access it and look up the IP of your miner. Then, type that IP in your browser and access to the miner control panel with the following login and password (Lower case “b”, both password and login are the same): baikal

Once you are there, you can easily configure your mining pools and your wallet. In fact, that’s everything you have to configure.

The Baikal Quadruple Miner supports multiple pools. It already comes with eight pools to choose from and it gives you the option to add your own ones. In the same browser page you can also give a priority to each of the pools; if one fails, the next ASIC will switch to the next one almost instantly.
