Two Bitcoin (BTC) whales have come out of a long slumber and moved billions of dollars worth of the flagship crypto asset, according to on-chain data.

Blockchain tracking firm Lookonchain says the two Bitcoin addresses that each had 10,000 BTC were each emptied within minutes of each other on the 4th of July.

The two wallets had received their respective Bitcoin on April 3rd of 2011 when BTC was trading at $0.78 a piece. The value of the Bitcoin in the slightly older wallet had risen from $7,805 to $1,092,370,050.73 at the time of the transfer, a gain of 13,995,672%.

In the newer wallet, the value of the Bitcoin had jumped from $7,805 to $1,090,670,006.39, a 13,973,891% gain. The total value transferred from the ancient addresses adds up to $2,183,040,056.

Bitcoin is trading at $109,061 at time of writing.

While the wallets were dormant since April of 2011, they also received trace amounts of Bitcoin during the intervening period, possibly due to dusting attacks conducted to try to sniff out the entities behind the addresses. Dusting attacks are typically conducted by researchers, law enforcement officials or criminals.

The phenomenon of long-dormant addresses suddenly getting active spurs media interest due to their potential link to the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, who remains a mystery more than one and a half decades since the crypto king was introduced to the world.

The last known publicly verifiable online activity linked to Satoshi Nakamoto leads back to December of 2010 when the pseudonymous creator took to the BitcoinTalk forum to discuss a software update for Bitcoin meant to forestall denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.

Ancient Babylonian Hymn Resurrected After 1,000 Years With AI https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ancient-babylonian-hymn-resurrected-after-1000-years-with-ai/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ancient-babylonian-hymn-resurrected-after-1000-years-with-ai/#respond Fri, 04 Jul 2025 23:53:08 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ancient-babylonian-hymn-resurrected-after-1000-years-with-ai/

A long-lost Babylonian hymn has been pieced back together with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and a digital archive.

The hymn, written on clay tablets in cuneiform, shows a closer look at life and beliefs in ancient Mesopotamia, according to a July 2 report by Popular Science.

At Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, researcher Enrique Jiménez and his team worked with the Electronic Babylonian Library Platform to scan and organise thousands of cuneiform fragments.

Using AI, the system matched pieces of tablets stored in different collections around the world. This process revealed 30 fragments that fit together to form the whole hymn.

The hymn is around 250 lines long and likely dates back to the first millennium Before the Common Era (BCE). It describes the city of Babylon with pride, mentioning its temples, buildings, waterways, and green fields nourished by the Euphrates.

The text also notes that the city’s people were kind to visitors and that many women served as priestesses, which adds details not often seen in other writings from the time.

Babylon, founded around 2000 BCE, was one of the largest cities of the ancient world. Its ruins can be found about 80 kilometres south of Baghdad and are recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Recently, Microsoft unveiled an AI system that it claims outperforms doctors in diagnosing complex medical cases. How? Read the full story.

Resurgence Of Ancient Bitcoin: Dormant BTC Movements Double In 2025 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/resurgence-of-ancient-bitcoin-dormant-btc-movements-double-in-2025/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/resurgence-of-ancient-bitcoin-dormant-btc-movements-double-in-2025/#respond Thu, 24 Apr 2025 14:49:36 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/resurgence-of-ancient-bitcoin-dormant-btc-movements-double-in-2025/

With the robust bullish performance observed across the general crypto market, Bitcoin has shifted toward the upside trajectory, breaking above key resistance levels. In a surprising twist that has caught the sector’s attention, old BTC investors are making their presence known in the market with massive coins moved in recent months following the resurgence in upward movements.

Historic Bitcoin Stirs Up In 2025

As the market rally gains momentum, Bitcoin has surged to levels above the $93,000 mark after many weeks of bearish actions. During this volatile period, Bitcoin sleeping giants are starting to wake up, indicating strong conviction in the asset’s long-term potential.

In a quick-take post on the CryptoQuant platform, a market expert with the username OnChainSchool reported that old dormant BTC has been moving since the beginning of 2025. Presently, more than twice as much long-dormant Bitcoin has been moved in the first three months of 2025 when compared to the same time period in 2024.

Long-dormant BTC springing back to life hints at a potential shift in sentiment among older or early investors. The abrupt action of these old investors could signal a turning point in Bitcoin’s market dynamics, whether it be for profit-taking, portfolio rebalancing, or getting ready for the next leg of the bull market.

Data shared by the expert reveals that about 62,800 BTC aged over 7 years were spent between January and March 2025. During the same period in 2024, over 28,000 BTC were observed being moved, marking a 121% increase in the movement of old coins.

It is worth noting that this analysis does not include the 141,000 BTC related to the Mt. Gox transfers in May 2024. The reason for this is to ensure a cleaner view of organic market activity between Q1 of 2024 and Q1 of 2025.

According to the expert, the increase might indicate a change in mood among long-term holders, which could be bolstered by changes in the macroeconomic environment, expectations for prices, or institutional liquidity requirements.

Long-Term And Short-Term BTC Holders’ Current Behavior

Bitcoin’s price has regained its footing as it hovers near critical resistance levels. Amid the renewed upward trend, there has been a significant behavioral divergence between long-term and short-term BTC holders.

Recent reports reveal that long-term BTC holders have been accumulating more coins at a rapid rate while short-term holders are capitulating and selling into weakness. LTH accumulation and STH capitulation typically indicate the beginning of a re-accumulation phase.

BTC’s Long-Term Holders’ Net Position Change has turned positive for the first time since the local top, suggesting that seasoned investors have resumed accumulation after months of continued distribution. Meanwhile, short-term holders are still liquidating their holdings, with net outflows falling deeper into negative territory.

The Art of Collecting: Tracing the Fascinating Journey from Ancient Treasures to Modern Masterpieces. https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-art-of-collecting-tracing-the-fascinating-journey-from-ancient-treasures-to-modern-masterpieces/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-art-of-collecting-tracing-the-fascinating-journey-from-ancient-treasures-to-modern-masterpieces/#respond Fri, 14 Feb 2025 10:37:47 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-art-of-collecting-tracing-the-fascinating-journey-from-ancient-treasures-to-modern-masterpieces/

Collecting, a practice as old as human civilization itself, is a fascinating subject that encompasses a broad range of objects, from art to artifacts, and has evolved significantly over time. The concept of collecting can be traced back to the early days of human history when our ancestors collected items necessary for survival, such as tools, and later, objects of symbolic or aesthetic value.

Early Beginnings

The earliest forms of collecting were likely pragmatic – acquiring items necessary for daily living. However, as societies evolved, so did the nature of collecting. Ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, collected art, books, and artifacts, often showcasing them in private and public spaces as symbols of knowledge, power, and wealth.

Renaissance and Enlightenment: The Birth of Private and Public Collections.

The Renaissance marked a significant turn in the history of collecting. Wealthy patrons, such as the Medici family in Florence, collected art both for personal enjoyment and as a means of demonstrating their wealth and cultural sophistication. This era also saw the emergence of the ‘Wunderkammer’ or ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ in Europe, where collectors displayed rare, exotic, and eclectic objects. These collections were precursors to modern museums.

During the Enlightenment, the scope of collecting expanded further. It became not just a hobby of the elite but also a scholarly pursuit. The establishment of public museums, such as the British Museum in 1753, reflected a democratization of collecting, making art and artifacts accessible to the broader public.

19th and 20th Centuries: The Expansion and Diversification of Collecting.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, collecting became more widespread due to increased wealth and the advent of industrialization. The concept of collecting as an investment emerged, with art especially seen as a valuable asset. Collectors began to focus not just on aesthetics and historical importance but also on the potential financial value of items.

During this period, art collecting saw significant changes with the emergence of new art movements. Collectors played a crucial role in supporting artists and movements that were initially outside the mainstream, such as the Impressionists in the late 19th century.

Contemporary Collecting.

Today, collecting is a multifaceted activity accessible to a wide range of people. It’s not just about art or antiques but also includes a vast array of items, from vintage toys to digital art. The digital age has further transformed collecting, introducing concepts like NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), which allow for the collection of digital art in a unique and verifiable way.

Collecting Philosophy: “Collect Something You Love”.

A popular philosophy among collectors is to “collect something you love, and that you can afford.” This sentiment echoes the idea that collecting should be driven by passion rather than just investment potential. An example of this philosophy can be seen in the fictional character ‘The Lost Monk’ from the novel “Grimoire.” The Lost Monk, a symbol of wisdom and serenity, represents the idea of collecting as a journey of personal fulfillment and enlightenment, rather than merely an acquisition of wealth or status.

The history of collecting is a testament to the human desire to preserve, appreciate, and understand the world around us. From the practical collections of our ancestors to the eclectic assemblages of the digital age, collecting continues to evolve, reflecting the changing values, interests, and technologies of our world. Whether for pleasure, investment, or scholarly pursuit, collecting remains a deeply personal and culturally significant practice.
