ChatGPT

OpenAI says Operator Agent now uses the o3 model, which means it’s now significantly better at reasoning capabilities.

For those unaware, Operator, which is still in research preview, allows users to delegate web tasks to the AI agent.

You can use it to automate repetitive tasks, such as filling forms and ordering products.

Operator

Operator isn’t exactly new and has been around since January 2025, but only those who pay for a $200 Pro and Enterprise subscription have access to it.

I recently reported that OpenAI is planning to improve Operator and turn it into a “very useful tool.”

While we are yet to see any meaningful improvements to the UX, OpenAI confirmed that it has updated Operator to o3.

Previously, the web Agent used 4o, a non-reasoning models to automate tasks. With o3, Operator is more persistent and accurate when interacting with the browser.

“Now Operator is more persistent and accurate when interacting with the browser, improving overall task success rate. Responses are also more clear, thorough and better structured,” the company noted.

“Operator continues to be available as a research preview to ChatGPT Pro users globally. This upgraded model is only available in Operator in ChatGPT.”

However, the question remains: would you pay $200 to automate grocery shopping and similar tasks? Most people won’t, and that’s why OpenAI is internally testing new ways to make the tool more useful.

While Operator remains exclusive to the $200 Pro subscription, OpenAI has plans to release the feature for $20 Plus subscribers in the future.

How Accurate Is Polymarket? Research Shows a 90% Success Rate https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-accurate-is-polymarket-research-shows-a-90-success-rate/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-accurate-is-polymarket-research-shows-a-90-success-rate/#respond Sun, 23 Mar 2025 21:00:24 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-accurate-is-polymarket-research-shows-a-90-success-rate/

New research has confirmed the accuracy of the blockchain-based prediction platform Polymarket. According to the data collated and analyzed, the project is at least 90% accurate.

Alex McCullough, a data scientist based in New York, conducted the research and outlined the results in a dashboard on the market analytics platform Dune. The dashboard tracks Polymarket’s accuracy over a period of one month, one week, a day, 12 hours, and four hours before the markets resolve.

A 90% Success Rate

McCullough’s findings revealed that Polymarket is 90.5% accurate one month before markets resolve, 89.2% correct one week before, and 88.6% accurate a day before. The platform also has a 90.2% accuracy 12 hours before markets resolve, and the figure surges to 94.2% four hours before the bets are over.

During an interview with Polymarket’s blog, The Oracle, McCullough revealed that he picked the time frames because they showed the most interesting data. The data scientist said four hours was the minimum time needed because markets do not resolve immediately. Sometimes, markets even take days between when the predicted event occurs and when the resolve happens.

McCullough measured the accuracy by counting markets above 50% that resolved to “Yes” and “No” as correct. He also studied Polymarket’s historical data and removed any extreme probabilities.

Long-Term Markets Have Higher Accuracy

Further discoveries revealed that prediction markets may get more accurate over time; however, this is not reflected on the platform until four hours before bets are resolved. While Polymarket makes accurate predictions the majority of the time, McCullough found that bias affects the platform’s results.

Causes of the bias on Polymarket include herd mentality, low liquidity, and acquiescence bias. Due to these factors, market participants seem to overestimate the likelihood of most events by a few points. This also results in most markets being overpriced and resolving to “Yes” less frequently than expected.

When asked why markets are more accurate a month out than a day before resolution, McCullough explained that such scenarios occur during markets that stay open for longer periods.

“The longer-term markets tend to have some options that are extreme locks as a “No” for example Gavin Newsom becoming president in the last election. Longer term markets tend to have more of these highly certain outcomes, which explains their higher accuracy as a group,” he added.

Polymarket is 90% accurate in predicting world events: research https://earlybirdsinvest.com/polymarket-is-90-accurate-in-predicting-world-events-research/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/polymarket-is-90-accurate-in-predicting-world-events-research/#respond Fri, 21 Mar 2025 05:55:22 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/polymarket-is-90-accurate-in-predicting-world-events-research/

Polymake is a crystal ball, according to a dune dashboard edited by New York-based data scientist Alex McCullough.

(Alex McCullough/Dune)

McCullough, following the Dune Dashboard summary, investigated historical data on polymakes, after the results were already known but still unresolved, but still not resolved, in order to keep the analysis accurate, following the summary of Dune Dashboard, and deleted the probability by more than 10% and more than 10%.

Polymercu overestimates the probability of an event slightly but consistently over the majority of the range. This is due to biases such as acquiescence bias, herd mentality, low liquidity, and participant preferences for high-risk bets, McCullough’s study found.

McUllough clearly includes many results that make predictions easier, as it explained in an interview with Polymarket’s The Oracle Blog, which makes the long-term market, which requires bettors to look farther, looks more accurate as it looks.

McCullough gives an example of Gavin Newsom being president in the last election ($54 million question), showing that the long-term polymer market contains clearly predictable results that would not win.

In contrast, the head-to-head sports market with less extreme results such as long-term presidential candidates and a more balanced distribution, presents a clearer representation of predictive accuracy and shows noticeable improvements in accuracy as events unfold and reveal regular accuracy spiking.

According to Data Portal Polymarket Analytics, Sports is the growth sector for Polymarket, with a collective volume of nearly $4.5 billion being wagered on the results of the NBA, MLB, Champions League and Premier League finals.

McCullough’s findings on the accuracy of Polymercu is likely to be of interest to Ottawa. Polymerket shows that Canada’s new liberal leader, Mark Carney, is currently leading the way to his conservative rival, Pierre Poilliervre.
