Key points:

  • Bitcoin nears three-week highs as US CPI data matches expectations.

  • Plenty of market participants see Bitcoin heading higher as aresult, perhaps after a dip to trap late longs.

  • CPI has seen BTC price fakeouts in recent months.

Bitcoin (BTC) saw telltale volatility at Thursday’s Wall Street open as US macro data furthered interest-rate cut odds.

CPI bullseye sees calls for Bitcoin going “higher”

Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed BTC/USD spiking to $114,731.

The August print of the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) came in as expected, complementing a marked cooling of the Producer Price Index (PPI) the day prior.

While CPI was at its highest since January, the headline figure was instead initial jobless claims, which saw their largest numbers since October 2021 at 263,000 versus 235,000 expected.

Amid ongoing concerns about labor market weakness, bets of the Fed cutting rates at its Sept. 17 meeting only strengthened after the CPI release, with markets even seeing an 11% chance of the cut being more than the minimum 0.25%.

“Markets are now pricing-in 75 basis points of rate cuts by year-end,” trading resource The Kobeissi Letter noted in a follow-up thread on X.

“While CPI inflation continues to rise, the labor market is simply too weak to ignore. Next week will be a big week.”

Crypto commentators saw the case for higher prices next as Bitcoin passed $114,500 for the first time since Aug. 24.

“PPI much lower than expected, CPI as expected,” popular trader Jelle responded in an X post.

“Conclusion: Inflation not as bad as expected – bring on the rate cut later this month. News now behind us, time to resume the scheduled programme: higher.”

BTC price risks repeating US inflation data trap

BTC price forecasts also stressed the importance of recent support reclaims.

For fellow trader BitBull, flipping $113,500 from resistance to support was the key low-time frame event, which opened the door to a rematch with all-time highs.

Some perspectives nonetheless saw a fresh support retest coming before a return to price discovery.

Trader Skew argued that the market would attempt to trap and liquidate longs that entered on the CPI release.

“One more liquidation before higher,” part of an X post suggested, noting 2,000 BTC of liquidity appearing on exchange order books.

Crypto investor and entrepreneur Ted Pillows went further, suggesting that BTC/USD would copy previous CPI behavior to first rise then plumb fresh lows.

“In the last 3 CPI data releases, Bitcoin rallied before CPI data and dumped right after the data release,” he observed alongside an explanatory chart.

“This time, BTC has rallied before today’s CPI data release, which means a dump could happen.”

Bitcoin short-term holders are finally chilling out.

After weeks of aggressive profit-taking near the $123K peak, new Glassnode data shows that spending activity from recent buyers has cooled off – a signal that the worst of the post-ATH dump might be behind us.

That’s a big deal. When short-term holders stop rushing for the exits, it gives long-term buyers room to accumulate without fighting constant sell pressure. In other words, the bull cycle gets to breathe again.

And when Bitcoin calms down? The degens start hunting. The best meme coins historically pump hardest in these windows. And with the charts settling, $MAXI might be next in line to rip.

Profit-Taking Drops as Bitcoin Floats Around $115K

Glassnode’s latest report paints a calmer picture of the Bitcoin market. Short-Term Holder (STH) Spent Volume (a key metric that tracks how many recent buyers are selling) has dropped to 45%, sliding below the neutral 50% line.

Risk indicator for short-term holder percent spent in profit vs $BTC price.
Source: Glassnode.

That means fewer newcomers are cashing out, even as $BTC trades just under $115K.

On top of that, 70% of STH supply is still in profit, signaling that recent buyers haven’t been shaken out.

Glassnode called it a ‘relatively balanced position’ that aligns with the mid-phase of previous bull markets. In other words, it’s not euphoric, but far from bearish.

Onchain tracker Checkonchain backs this up. According to its SOPR analysis, many of the folks who bought near the $123K top are now capitulating at breakeven – classic weak-hand behavior. But that’s exactly what strong markets need: the exit of uncertain traders, replaced by conviction buyers.

CheckonChain on X.

Historically, STH capitulation clears the runway for upside continuation. With major voices like Tom Lee still eyeing a $250K target for 2025, this consolidation might just be the pit stop before the next leg. If $BTC holds its ground into Q4, the appetite for risk is only going to grow.

Meme Coin Appetite Grows When $BTC Stabilizes

When Bitcoin chills, meme coins cook. It’s a familiar pattern — once $BTC stabilizes, traders itching for bigger gains start rotating into high-risk, high-reward crypto plays. Meme coins sit at the top of that list, offering insane volatility with outsized upside.

We’ve seen this movie before. Back in May 2021, $DOGE hit $0.7376 as Bitcoin coasted near its then-ATH. Fast-forward to late 2024: as $BTC surged post-election, $DOGE nearly broke $0.50 again.

Source: CoinMarketCap.

Around the same time, $PEPE exploded to an all-time high of $0.00002825 in December, all while Bitcoin rallied in the background.

That’s the opportunity in front of us now. With profit-taking easing off and Bitcoin holding firm above $110K, traders are already eyeing the next big crypto runner.

Maxi Doge ($MAXI), a satirical beast of a token built for the 1000x leverage era, positions itself as the natural successor to Dogecoin, but with more caffeine and fewer naps.

If the risk-on mood returns, $MAXI could be the first to benefit.

Maxi Doge ($MAXI): The Meme Coin Built for the Bull

Maxi Doge ($MAXI) isn’t just another Doge clone; it’s the final form. A satirical, ultra-degen meme coin built for the trader who dreams of candlesticks and maxes out leverage before breakfast.

Born in the gym and raised on caffeine, $MAXI captures the raw spirit of bull market insanity: no sleep, only pumps.

Built on Ethereum, $MAXI trades at just $0.000251 and has already raised over $440K in its presale.

For the true believers, staking offers a wild 593% APY.

Maxi Doge ($MAXI) tokenomics and utility of staking, contests, and partner events.

Unlike some meme coins that awkwardly bolt on utility, $MAXI embraces its purpose: pure, unfiltered meme adrenaline. Its branding leans all the way in: 1000x trades, rage-fueled lifts, and enough testosterone to break TradingView.

But there’s more beneath the flex. 25% of the total supply is allocated to the MAXI Fund, reserved for future partnerships and marketing – with hints of a futures exchange collab where degens might one day trade $MAXI itself with 100x+ leverage.

Compared to $DOGE and $SHIB, which launched with nothing but vibes, $MAXI enters the arena with a fully-formed identity and roadmap. It’s not a meme, it’s a movement.

Final Form, Final Pump? Why $MAXI Could Be the Top Dog Meme Coin This Cycle

Bitcoin’s cooling profit-taking marks a shift: not into fear, but into calm. That’s bullish. When the selling slows and accumulation picks up, meme coins tend to ride the next wave of risk-on sentiment.

Maxi Doge ($MAXI) embodies the current cycle: full-degen, hyper-aware, and totally unbothered by fundamentals. Its launch hits right as market appetite rotates back toward high-volatility plays with greater potential upside.

Sure, it’s absurd. But that’s the point. In a market driven by vibes and volume, $MAXI might just be the one bench-pressing the others off the chart.

Always do your own research. Presales in crypto are high-risk, high-reward. Don’t invest more than you’re prepared to lose, and make sure to verify all presale links through official sources.

Bitcoin’s $115K Struggle: Is a Deeper Drop on the Horizon? https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoins-115k-struggle-is-a-deeper-drop-on-the-horizon/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoins-115k-struggle-is-a-deeper-drop-on-the-horizon/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 08:27:23 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoins-115k-struggle-is-a-deeper-drop-on-the-horizon/ Bitcoin (BTC) is facing renewed downward pressure as it struggles to maintain levels above $115,000. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency is trading around $115,745, down approximately 2.2% in the past 24 hours and nearly 6% below its July all-time high of $123,000.

The latest market movement has raised questions about short-term price stability, particularly amid growing concerns over weak structural support in the current trading zone.

Recent data from on-chain analytics platform CryptoQuant suggests that while long-term holders remain largely profitable, short-term sentiment has shifted.

Bitcoin UTXO Data Points to Changing Investor Behavior

Activity among Bitcoin Unspent Transaction Outputs (UTXOs), a metric that tracks coins being spent either in profit or at a loss, indicates that many investors are beginning to react to smaller price drops, potentially signaling increased market uncertainty.

In a recent analysis on CryptoQuant’s QuickTake platform, contributor Darkfost shared insights on how UTXO activity can reflect broader market sentiment.

“This chart, based on UTXOs from block data, highlights the number of UTXOs spent either in profit or in loss,” the analyst wrote, noting that this approach focuses on transaction count rather than value, helping filter out price-based noise.

Bitcoin UTXO metric.

Historically, Bitcoin has seen a dominance of UTXOs spent in profit, with patient holders benefiting from long-term appreciation. Between July 11 and 13, the ratio of profitable UTXOs compared to those spent at a loss surged above 10,000, meaning for every loss-making spend, there were over ten thousand profitable ones.

However, this ratio has since declined to around 500, suggesting that some investors are now closing positions at a loss even with minor price retracements. This change, according to Darkfost, may indicate short-term selling pressure despite the overall profitable status of most holders.

Weak Support Structure Adds to Downside Risk

Another CryptoQuant analyst, Maartunn, highlighted structural weaknesses in Bitcoin’s recent price surge. On July 10, BTC rapidly climbed from $112,000 to $115,800, but this upward move left little on-chain support in the price range.

“The move happened so quickly that no support levels were formed,” the analyst explained. “If momentum drops or sellers step in, the price could fall just as fast as it rose.”

With Bitcoin now hovering just above its last known on-chain support zone, analysts caution that a failure to hold this level could accelerate the decline.

From $115K to $150K? The Bullish Case for Bitcoin’s Year-End Comeback https://earlybirdsinvest.com/from-115k-to-150k-the-bullish-case-for-bitcoins-year-end-comeback/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/from-115k-to-150k-the-bullish-case-for-bitcoins-year-end-comeback/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 07:51:09 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/from-115k-to-150k-the-bullish-case-for-bitcoins-year-end-comeback/

As July closed out, Bitcoin suffered a notable pullback as it corrected to approximately $113K – a decline of several thousand dollars from mid-month highs north of $123K.

Despite the setback, the market watchers remain bullish about the world’s largest crypto asset’s prospects for the year-end.

$115K Now, $150K Soon?

As Bitcoin mining enters the second half of 2025, the sector’s fundamentals remain strong, but the room for errors is shrinking. The analytics team at Bitcoin yield protocol TeraHash predicts that the crypto asset will trade between $130,000 and $150,000 by year-end, if the ETF inflows remain and the macroeconomic backdrop remains consistent.

In a statement to CryptoPotato, TeraHash said that several factors are at play. The Federal Reserve’s expected rate cut in September, along with regulatory clarity from the SEC, CFTC, and the full implementation of Europe’s MiCA framework in Q4, are expected to play a crucial role in shaping market sentiment.

“On-chain, hashrate is expected to reach ~1.2 ZH/s, with mining difficulty climbing toward 140T, driven by large-scale deployment of next-gen ASICs and geographic expansion into energy-advantaged regions such as Paraguay, Oman, and parts of Africa. But as costs rise and competition accelerates, miners without efficient hardware or access to low-cost energy will struggle to remain profitable.”

At the same time, Hashrate-as-a-Service (HaaS) offerings are gaining traction among institutional investors, as they provide a lower-risk avenue to gain mining exposure. As the post-halving environment increasingly favors scale and strategic execution, the latter half of 2025 will test miners’ adaptability.

“Bitcoin mining in late 2025 is about precision, adaptability, and staying ahead in a system that grows more competitive with every block.”

Jaw-Dropping BTC Prediction

While a certain cohort of investors has resorted to profit-taking, long-term bullish sentiment remains intact. For instance, Tom Lee of Fundstrat Global Advisors came up with an even bolder prediction that Bitcoin would reach $250,000 by year-end. Prominent Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper also believes that the crypto asset could hit that milestone.

Amid all the furor, financial giant Charles Schwab, as well as billionaire CEO of Galaxy Digital Mike Novogratz, predict that Bitcoin could reach $1 million by the end of 2025.

Bitcoin plunged below $115,000 on Friday as renewed political pressure from former President Donald Trump unsettled markets.

The top cryptocurrency dropped to $113,164, its lowest in weeks, triggering over $200 million in liquidations from leveraged long positions and raising fresh concerns over investor confidence. The drop comes amid escalating geopolitical tension.

Trump Orders Submarine Move Amid Russia Tensions, Bitcoin Reacts to Risk Fears

Trump announced the repositioning of two U.S. nuclear submarines in response to comments by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council. Medvedev had criticized Trump’s ultimatum that Russia end its conflict with Ukraine within ten days, calling it “a step towards war.”

“Based on the highly provocative statements of the former president of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, […] I have ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added that “Words are very important and can often lead to unintended consequences. I hope this will not be one of those instances.”

Bitcoin’s price decline followed these remarks from Trump, reflecting broader investor anxiety as tensions between nuclear powers rise.

Friday’s market reaction also follows Trump’s public attacks on U.S. economic institutions. The former president accused Erika McEntarfer, Commissioner of Labor Statistics, of manipulating jobs data ahead of the 2024 election to help Kamala Harris.

He called for her immediate removal and claimed the Bureau had “faked the jobs numbers” by overstating employment growth.

“We need accurate Jobs Numbers,” Trump wrote. “She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified.”

He also turned his attention to the Federal Reserve, sharply criticizing its chair, Jerome Powell. Trump claimed the Fed’s pre-election rate cuts were politically motivated and called Powell “a stubborn MORON.”

“Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell must substantially lower interest rates NOW,” he wrote. “IF HE CONTINUES TO REFUSE, THE BOARD SHOULD ASSUME CONTROL AND DO WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS HAS TO BE DONE!”

While presidents traditionally avoid interfering with central bank decisions, Trump urged Fed officials to overrule Powell and slash rates to support what he described as a booming economy under his leadership.

The Fed has held rates steady for five consecutive meetings, citing inflation concerns. But Trump, in a flurry of posts, accused Powell of damaging the economy and failing to act on the consequences of new tariffs.

Fed Governor Adriana Kugler Resigns, Opening Key Seat for Trump

Amid the political pressure, Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler announced her resignation on Friday, creating a key vacancy at the central bank. Kugler, a Biden appointee, joined the Fed’s Board of Governors in 2023 and was a permanent voting member on the Federal Open Market Committee.

She did not give a reason for her early departure but stated she would return to Georgetown University in the fall.

“It has been an honor of a lifetime to serve,” Kugler wrote in a letter addressed to Trump. Her exit, nearly 18 months before her term was set to expire, clears a path for Trump to nominate a replacement.

Kugler had recently voiced support for keeping rates steady, pending a clearer picture of how tariffs are affecting inflation. She was absent during this week’s policy vote, where two Trump-appointed members dissented, favoring a rate cut.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell thanked Kugler for her service, noting her contributions brought “impressive experience and academic insights” to the Board.

Bitcoin Slides as Political Tensions and Market Jitters Weigh on Sentiment

Bitcoin slipped further on Friday as rising geopolitical tensions and cautious investor sentiment added pressure to already fragile markets. The cryptocurrency is now trading just 7% below its all-time high of $123,182 set in mid-July, though momentum in derivatives markets is showing signs of cooling.

Notably, the monthly futures premium for Bitcoin has narrowed to 6%, down from earlier highs this month. Analysts say the drop reflects reduced appetite for leveraged long positions, suggesting traders are becoming more risk-averse despite ongoing institutional interest.

Bitcoin’s recent price behavior has also contributed to uncertainty. Rather than acting as a hedge, the asset has moved in step with tech stocks, exposing it to broader macro and political shocks. With tensions between the U.S. and Russia flaring again this week, risk appetite appears to be shifting.

The political back-and-forth added to a market already grappling with trade friction and weak economic data. While gold has remained stable around $3,350, it has offered little relief for those hoping Bitcoin would act as a safe-haven alternative. Traders appear to be rotating into cash and short-term government bonds as volatility increases.

Despite the decline, Bitcoin remains well above its January levels. However, with global uncertainty rising, traders may remain cautious in the short term.

Amid the broader pullback, some investors are reassessing Bitcoin’s long-term role. Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio, previously skeptical, has updated his outlook. Speaking on a recent podcast, Dalio recommended allocating up to 15% of a portfolio to gold or Bitcoin as a hedge against U.S. debt and inflation.

“The U.S. is entering a debt doom loop,” he said, referencing Treasury forecasts of $12 trillion in new debt within the next year.

Dalio noted that while Bitcoin remains volatile and faces regulatory questions, its role as a store of value is becoming harder to ignore.

Bitcoin is losing its bullish momentum: Is a drop to $115K next? https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-is-losing-its-bullish-momentum-is-a-drop-to-115k-next/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-is-losing-its-bullish-momentum-is-a-drop-to-115k-next/#respond Thu, 24 Jul 2025 21:41:55 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-is-losing-its-bullish-momentum-is-a-drop-to-115k-next/

Key takeaways:

  • A hidden bearish divergence on the RSI hints at weakening bullish momentum for Bitcoin.

  • A CME gap between $114,000–$115,000 could act as a magnet.

  • Market cyclicality and an assortment of indicators show Bitcoin in a distribution zone.

Bitcoin (BTC) is showing signs of potential weakness, with three critical charts suggesting the possibility of new weekly lows in July. While the long-term trend remains intact, traders should brace for short-term volatility.

Bitcoin currently exhibits a hidden bearish divergence between its price and the relative strength index (RSI), a momentum indicator that measures the strength of price movements.

A hidden bearish divergence occurs when the price makes higher highs, but the RSI forms equal or lower highs. This divergence hints at weakening momentum behind the rally, often leading to downside corrections.

This same pattern appeared in March 2024, after which Bitcoin saw a 20% price drop in the following days. Likewise, the ongoing divergence may lead to another corrective move, potentially pushing Bitcoin to fresh short-term lows.

BTC CME gap looms as a downside magnet

A CME gap exists between $114,380 and $115,635 on the daily chart. CME gaps form when Bitcoin trades outside regular hours on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), leaving price voids that are often filled in active trading sessions.

Bitcoin CME futures gap. Source: Cointelegraph/TradingView

These gaps matter because historical data show that Bitcoin tends to “fill” them, i.e., the price retraces to cover the untraded range. In 2025, seven out of nine CME gaps have already been filled, with only this one and a smaller gap between $91,970 and $92,450 still open.

The high fill rate underscores Bitcoin’s chances to revisit these levels, leading to a short-term dip to close the $114,000 bracket.

Bitcoin is in a distribution zone

Anonymous crypto analyst Gaah noted the Index Bitcoin Cycle Indicators (IBCI) has entered the distribution zone, a region historically linked with market euphoria and interim tops. This is the third such entry in the current bull cycle.

Index Bitcoin Cycle Indicator chart. Source: CryptoQuant

The analyst explained that while the index touched only the lower base of the zone (80%), not the peak (100%) seen in past cycle tops, the reading still serves as a warning signal. Key indicators like the Puell Multiple and STH-SOPR (Short-Term Holder Spent Output Profit Ratio) remain below mid-levels, suggesting that retail speculation and aggressive profit-taking from miners haven’t peaked yet. Gaah added,

“The behavior of the IBCI therefore offers an important warning sign: we are in a zone of high corrective risk in the short term, but not necessarily at a major end-of-cycle top.”

Bitcoin is currently trading in a tight range between short-term supply and demand, following weeks of heavy selling pressure that sent shockwaves through the broader crypto market. After losing over 29% since its January all-time high, BTC is now searching for direction. Bulls must step up and reclaim the $90,000 level to restore confidence and confirm the start of a recovery rally. Until then, uncertainty remains the dominant theme.

Adding to this cautious sentiment is the broader macroeconomic backdrop, with trade war fears and global financial instability weighing heavily on investor confidence. Volatility in equities and geopolitical tensions have spilled into the crypto space, making it harder for Bitcoin to establish a clear trend.

Top crypto analyst Ali Martinez shared a technical analysis on X, revealing that Bitcoin may have completed a classic cup-and-handle formation, topping at around $109,000. However, this doesn’t necessarily signal further downside. Instead, it highlights that Bitcoin is currently without a defined direction.

For now, Bitcoin is holding its ground, but whether the next move is a breakout or a breakdown will depend on how the market responds in the days ahead.

Bitcoin Faces A Pivotal Test After 13% Rebound

Bitcoin has quietly rallied over 13% since its March 11 low near $76,600, with bulls now setting their sights on reclaiming the $88,000 level. This recent surge has brought cautious optimism to the market, but the path ahead remains uncertain. Bitcoin is currently facing a critical technical and psychological test, as it struggles to recover from a sharp downtrend that began after its January all-time high.

Investor sentiment has been mixed. Many entered 2025 with expectations of a strong bull run, but recent price action and growing macroeconomic concerns have prompted some analysts to call for the start of a bear market. According to Martinez, Bitcoin may have already completed a classic cup-and-handle pattern, topping out around $110,000—just $5,000 shy of the expected $115,000 target. If this technical blueprint holds true, the current correction may simply be part of a broader consolidation phase.

This view aligns with the idea that Bitcoin needs to stabilize before its next major move. Bulls must defend current levels and build momentum to push past the $90,000 barrier. Until then, BTC appears to be in a holding pattern, caught between the hope for a resumed uptrend and the fear of deeper downside risk.

BTC Price Hovers At $84K As Bulls Face Critical Resistance

Bitcoin is currently trading at $84,100 after several days of tight consolidation and slow price action around this level. Market participants are closely watching this range, as it represents a key short-term battleground between bulls and bears. For any meaningful recovery to take place, bulls must reclaim the $87,300 level, which aligns with both the 4-hour 200-day moving average (MA) and the 4-hour 200-day exponential moving average (EMA).

BTC testing resistance around $84K | Source: BTCUSDT Chart on TradingView
BTC testing resistance around $84K | Source: BTCUSDT Chart on TradingView

A decisive move above these indicators would likely spark a renewed push toward the $90,000 level, a psychological and technical barrier that could confirm the beginning of a short-term bullish trend. However, failure to reclaim $87,300 and maintain strength above $84,000 could tip the balance in favor of the bears.

If BTC loses the $84,000 support, the next likely target sits below $81,000, where lower demand zones could come into play. This would reinforce the ongoing uncertainty in the market and raise the risk of a deeper correction.
