US President Donald Trump, who has come to the forefront of Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency, continues to erase traces of his Biden era.
At this point, Trump has made major changes to many high-level organizations. Two of them were the SEC and CFTC.
The former SEC and CFTC chairman resigned after Trump took office. Paul Atkins has been chosen as the new SEC chair, but CFTC has not yet selected the chair.
Fox Business Reporter Eleanor Terrett, citing sources familiar with the issue, reported that the White House is considering appointing former CFTC chairman Jill Somers and National Credit Union Agency (NCUA) President Kyle Hauptman as CFTC chair.
Terrett said they both support cryptocurrency.

The White House had previously resumed reviews of candidates for CFTC Chair after Brian Quintz’s nomination was blocked. Other candidates included SEC’s Mike Selig, Tyler Williams of the Treasury and Milbank’s attorney Josh Sterling.
