It won’t be a quiet December on Capitol Hill. Cryptocurrency trading is expected to pick up in the coming weeks leading up to the holiday season, as hopes for the Digital Asset Market Structure Bill being passed fade.
But all is not lost. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott is optimistic about a committee vote on the two Senate bills in December. He expressed this sentiment in a news interview two weeks ago.
“We believe we can mark it up and vote in both committees next month, pass it in the full Senate early next year, and get President Trump to sign the bill to make America the crypto capital of the world.”
A vote on the floor before Congress adjourns for vacation would be seen as a good sign by those with visions of sugar plums.
To keep things lively, there will also be a wealth of crypto policy forums at a time that is usually full of glitzy Washington DC holiday parties.
